There will be some limitations in the prologue. You will have access to all features of the game, but:

Other than that, the available content will deliver you a fine dose of ship-managing fun, as well as a substantial taste of how the full game will play.

See you sailing the big blue soon and have a nice holiday season!

Cruise Ship Manager - December 2022 Devlog

Ahoy sailors and shipowners!

Today we would like to focus on a very important aspect of our game: improving the rooms and venues of your ship, and even the ship itself.

It is a given that we can buy, sell or move rooms on your ship. However, we can also upgrade them to increase the quality of our cruise, the happiness of our passengers, and the amount of money we make by the end of the trip.

Aside from the obvious financial benefits that come from increasing the reputability of the venues, their appearance is also improved. The cabins become more elaborate and furnished and overall pleasant for the passengers. Nobody wants to spend an entire cruise trip in a boring, empty cabin right?

Another aspect is upgrading the ship itself. As we grow as a shipowner, we will be able to upgrade or purchase a new ship. We can do this using a designated panel in the Harbor.

Purchasing a larger ship does not only improve it visually, but also increases the space available for rooms and venues, and also cabins, which means we can accommodate more passengers. And as we know, more passengers means more money!

Add the game to your Wishlist and anticipate even more information about Cruise Ship Manager soon! What else do you want to know about? Let us know on our official Discord server!

Cruise Ship Manager Devlog 04

Ahoy, sailors!

We're officially done with the playtests. Thank you for all the comments and feedback that you've submitted. You’re the best! We’re going full speed ahead with improving every potential flaw that you have pointed out, as well as streamlining the aspects of the game that you’ve found to be enjoyable. Over 80% of the surveys were positive! That's a great reception and a source of motivation for our team!

Cruise Ship Manager's demo will be available at the upcoming Steam Next Fest in a new and improved form, based on the changes we've made after the playtests. While we didn't have enough time to implement all of your amazing suggestions before the festival, let's look at one of the features that were added to the game as a result of your feedback.

We took the playtesters' comments to heart. We’re currently working on our new crew automation system, which will make managing the ship much more pleasant and effective. Previously, we had to manually assign a specific room to a crew member for them to go and, for example, fix a broken bed. Now, we’re introducing a new Work Slot - the Janitor. They will be located in their very own cabin.

The Janitor will be assigned multiple rooms where they can work. They will regularly go on patrols around those rooms, checking if the rooms’ conditions are up to par. We also plan to allow crew members to spawn at their workstations immediately upon assigning them to a room in order to make them more efficient.

Of course, manually assigning crew members tasks such as fixing furniture or putting out a fire is still possible. To do that, simply click on the specific object you wish to interact with and select your chosen crew member from the list.

Your opinions are essential to us, as we want to develop this game together with you. These recent changes to how crew management works were only possible because of the feedback we received from the players. So, please, leave a comment and share your thoughts about the proposed changes below, or on our Discord server!

Make sure to wishlist the game and don’t miss the next Cruise Ship Manager devlog!

Cruise Ship Manager Devlog 03

Ahoy, sailors!

Welcome to another Cruise Ship Manager devlog. We would like to thank you for such active engagement in the playtests. Your suggestions are immensely important to us. We cannot promise that we will implement every single idea, but we do want to significantly improve our game. Due to the warm reception of the playtests, we decided to extend the playtests until August 3rd!

Today, we would like to familiarize you with starting the cruise – all the essential preparations that every respectable cruise ship must go through in order to safely depart from the harbor.

First of all: choose the right route! At this time, you have the option to choose between two destinations for your cruise. These options have predefined cruise times and difficulty ratings which you will have to take into consideration, as the longer the cruise, the more things can happen (and go wrong)! In the final version of the game, the Cruise Planner will be much more robust and the map will progressively get bigger as you play.

Next, build mode! As you already know from the previous devlog, build mode is incredibly important. Build as many cabins as you need and satisfy all passenger needs.

The Crew Employment Mode will allow you to recruit the crew of your dreams for your ship! Some employees specialize in specific skills, so choose carefully so that all your work slots are covered, including entertainment and engineering.

When all the technicalities are taken care of, it is time to sell some tickets. To increase the exposure of your cruise’s offer, you can invest in advertising, like purchasing a TV spot or some fliers. You have full control over the price of tickets and the number of all-inclusive tickets. Careful, though! Selling the tickets ends the cruise preparations – you will not be able to change your destination or build new rooms.

The last step, which will be available in the full version of the game, is purchasing resources. Each room consumes resources such as fuel, so the more entertainment venues you have on your ship, the more fuel you have to buy.

After you are done with the preparations, all that’s left is to press ‘Set Sail!’ and leave port.

Tell us what else you want to know about our game! We invite you to visit our Discord server where we hang out and answer questions.

Add the game to your Wishlist and expect more information about Cruise Ship Manager soon!

Playtest is now LIVE!

Hey everyone!

Is it possible to combine the hard work of a cruise ship manager with a vacation? Yes! You can do it in Cruise Ship Manager!

As promised, we have just launched Steam Playtest today! You may still join it by signing in for the playtests from our Steam page! Manage your own cruise ship, and fulfill your dreams of watching over a beautiful vessel, a large crew, and all sorts of passengers in this refreshing blend of tycoon and The Sims series!

Remember, that this is a playtest, which means that there will be bugs. This is not a full-fledged demo! Moreover, many features that are planned for the full game are not available in the playtest.

So have fun but keep these points in mind:

  • Everything is subject to change!
  • Keeping the above in mind, this is the last call for any major gameplay changes. After the playtest is over, we will discuss your feedback and implement any necessary changes. That's why YOUR opinion is essential for us. You will help us make this game as great as it can be!
  • Visuals are also not final. We do have a limit on what we can do (we must make sure the game runs well). However, there is still room for improvement.
  • This playtest only lets you finish a single cruise. This is intentional, ship management is what we're focusing on right now. In the full version, you will embark on many, many voyages and grow your wealth after each one.
  • Because of the above, some gameplay elements like resource management are limited in this playtest. In the full game, you will have to ensure that you have enough fuel, food, and so on.
  • You can share the playtest over youtube or anywhere else - but if you do, please point out that this is an early playtest of an alpha version of the game.

Let us know what you think about this playtest on our official Discord server. You can also fill out a questionnaire to let us know what you think about this playtest.

As you will surely notice during the play, we really want to combine the demanding tycoon-style gameplay with the relaxing atmosphere of holidays. Content-wise, you have one small ship at your disposal in this playtest demo and your task is to make sure it steers safely to the port of destination. We’re looking forward to receiving your feedback on Steam!

CRUISE SHIP MANAGER - PLAYTESTS ON JULY 20!

IMPORTANT: There seems to be a small technical problem with the name of the playtest on the game's Steam site ('Join the Uninitialized' instead of 'Join the Playtest'). But… that won't stop you from signing up - the sign-ups still work fine! So go ahead and ask for access and don't worry about the name!

Hello Managers!

It's summer, it's hot, it's the holidays! What better time to open your cruise ship business?

We are happy to let you know that the Cruise Ship Manager playtest demo is on the horizon! It’s time to launch your business and make some money while making your passengers happy at the same time!

It’s the first time you will be able to see the game in action on Steam! Sign up NOW and join the Playtests starting on JULY 20!

While the demo may still lack some polishing (hey, that’s what playtests are for!) we think it really gives a glimpse of things to come! Content-wise you have one small ship at your disposal in this demo and your task is to make sure your cruise sheep steers safely to the port of destination. Later in the game, you will gain access to bigger ships and longer routes of course!

Make sure you:

  • Hire a top-notch crew
  • Arrange rooms and other utilities on the ship
  • React to any inconveniences that may happen during the cruise
  • Carry your (sometimes whimsical) passengers safely to the destination port

This demo by no means contains all the functionalities and mechanics planned for the final version of the game. It is only meant to give you a taste of what awaits you next year.

Keep in mind that playtests may feature bugs, visual glitches, missing localization, or features that still aren’t quite finished. This playtest aims to check how you guys find the Cruise Ship Manager gameplay loop and, last but not least, gather your feedback regarding the overall FUN! By playing the demo and giving us your honest opinion, YOU will help make this game into the best version of itself.

We impatiently await your feedback. You can leave your comments in three ways:

  • Special questionnaire (with a handy in-game link for all playtesters)
  • Our official Discord server!
  • Steam forums

Thanks for your support!

Cruise Ship Manager Devlog 02

Ahoy, sailors!

Welcome to yet another Cruise Ship Manager devlog. Firstly, we would like to announce that official Steam Playtests for this game are coming soon! Keep a close eye on our announcements so you don't miss the opportunity to sign up for a playtest of an early version of Cruise Ship Manager!

Today, we want to talk a little more in-depth about the build mode in our game. Any respectable shipowner should ensure that the comfort and satisfaction of their passengers are prioritized. A well-functioning restaurant serving delicious food, or a nightclub where passengers can party until dawn, are both essential on any cruise ship. Not to mention the cabins for the passengers and the crew! All this, and more, is available through the build mode.

In the build mode, you can purchase rooms, place them, modify their colors, or choose from a few decor swatches. If the need arises, you can also sell the rooms that are no longer needed. However, you must be careful, as there is limited cash and space available to you while building.

The size of our vessel can also affect the types of rooms which are available for construction. A smaller ship will not be able to carry a whole waterpark, but a nightclub will fit in effortlessly, giving the passengers an entertaining pastime. Passengers have different needs: some might want to have a drink at the bar, while others need a delicious meal at a good restaurant. In order to satisfy those needs, you need special rooms, like the aforementioned nightclub, restaurant, or casino.

The rooms do not work in isolation, of course. The right number of crew cabins correlates to the number of qualified workers that we can hire. Good workers are essential to the proper functioning of service and entertainment venues on the ship. Each room requires regular maintenance, like cleaning or equipment repairs. For this, you have well-trained crewmembers who will quickly deal with any problem. We will write more about assigning workers to rooms and tasks in future devlogs.

Tell us what else you want to know about our game! We invite you to visit our Discord server where we hang out and answer questions.

Add the game to your Wishlist and expect more information about Cruise Ship Manager soon!
