The long-awaited R31 “Singleplayer Update” is finally here!
Everyone on the team worked hard to make this a reality. CryoFall now finally has full local game support where you can create a custom world, configure everything to your liking by selecting one of several game modes (presets), and just enjoy the game in singleplayer or with your friends over LAN or internet via virtual LAN (with software such as Hamachi). If you don’t want to create custom servers you can continue using official or community servers, same as before!
But that is obviously not the only change, so let’s take a look at what else this update has in store for you!
Another major change is the introduction of a proper end-game goal. Now your journey in the world of CryoFall will culminate in finally constructing a means to escape this hostile planet. Building this massive rocket won’t be an easy task as it will require a significant technological foundation and accomplishments, however.
Building the rocket is separated into many individual stages where you first build the launchpad and then slowly, little by little prepare everything for your journey by constructing individual schematics which ultimately enable you to complete this megaproject.
New Game +
After completing the local game you can start a “New Game +” where you keep your existing character with all of the technologies and skills, but start in a fresh world for a different experience where all of the technological advancements are available to you from the start!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Other new content and features
We have also introduced a number of new features and content into the game. One such example you can see above—is the new biological mech called “Nemesis” which uses two new Keinite based weapons that were also introduced in this update.
There are also some new features requested by players such as item recycling at a tinker table, new Steam achievements, along with the new completionist page to track which events you have participated in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Complete rebalancing of the game
Another thing that usually doesn’t get much attention is the complete rebalance of the game! We think it is equally as important as introducing new content. Thanks to the detailed survey we conducted in the summer of this year and massive players' feedback received during that time we have completely reworked practically every aspect of the game progression from skills, technologies, power production, events, and creatures to practically every single building in the game with massive changes which should streamline the gameplay and remove any remaining grind, which is especially important in competitive modes.
Official servers wipe
As was mentioned in our pre-release post, all of the official servers have been wiped and consolidated to offer better player experience in each region thanks to higher online numbers, rather than splitting the playerbase across multiple servers in each region as was the case recently. Additionally, along with the usual PvP server wipes (every 3 weeks), official PvE servers will also have regular wipes every 6 weeks. If you’d like to learn more please read the previous announcement here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/829590/view/2940276721136787323 We welcome you to join all the newly started servers with the fresh economy and all of the new stuff introduced by the update!
CryoSmall & CryoFive
Featured community servers CryoSmall and CryoFive have been wiped as well. These are the recommended PvP servers for North America and Europe (there are no official PvP servers in these regions). What makes them so good? A strict limit of 2 (for CryoSmall) or 5 (for CryoFive) players per team, no alliances permitted. You can have peace of mind that the server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete, and if you notice someone violating the rules just make a screenshot and report in CryoSmall Discord.
Legacy support
Even though the R31 update is 100% compatible with the previous R30 version, as usual, we're providing a legacy branch for the previous version client available if you intend to keep using it on a server that is not yet updated to R31. Just open game properties in the Steam Client, navigate to the BETAS tab, and select the "legacy-r30" branch.

R31 Singleplayer Update launch date is set!
We are happy to announce that the R31 "Singleplayer Update" is scheduled to be released on the 8th of October (Friday).
All official servers (PvP and PvE) will be wiped on the update release day. We will also consolidate regional servers—e.g. instead of six Europe PvE servers, there will be a single Europe PvE server (with more servers added gradually if the current capacity is exceeded). This applies to all regional servers.
R31 Update brings support for the local server. It is seamlessly integrated and can be used to play in singleplayer as the update title suggests. There is full support for LAN to play with your friends and family (it can be also used to play over the internet by using virtual LAN software such as Hamachi!).
This time there are also changes to how official servers will be run now that the game finally has local server support and it's easier than ever to run your own local server. Starting with R31 all official PvE servers will also have regular wipes every 6 weeks (while official PvP servers will keep their 3-week wipe cycle). This duration may change based on feedback, so once the update launches give it a go and let us know! When the update launches we will also share our plans for the coming months and there are two major developments that are going to happen relatively soon, so stay tuned!
As usual, we will post additional information about the update when it launches both here and on Steam. Meanwhile, you can take a look at the patch notes for the update: https://forums.atomictorch.com/index.php?topic=2034
Launch date: 8th of October (Friday), 1 PM by GMT/UTC time.
For your convenience, here is the local time in the primary time zones we have: • 8 AM by Central US (CDT, GMT-5 summer time) • 3 PM by Central EU (CET, GMT+2 summer time) • 16:00 by Russia/Moscow (GMT+3) • 21:00 by China/Beijing (GMT+8) • 10 AM by Argentina/Brazil (GMT-3) • 10 PM by Japan and South Korea (GMT+9)
Legacy branch
As usual, we will provide a legacy branch for the previous (R30) version if you intend to keep playing with it on a community or a private server that is not yet updated to R31.

R31 Experimental launch and PvP servers wipe announcement
The Singleplayer Update is ready for testing and launched in experimental! Everyone on the team worked hard to make this a reality. CryoFall will finally have support for local games where you can create a world, configure the rates and just enjoy the game solo.
Obviously, there are many other additions and improvements aside from the local game mode. The ability to actually finish the game is the main change which many of you have requested for the longest time! The number of balancing changes this time is massive thanks to your feedback and the last public survey results. The patch notes will be made available only with the update release so you can discover all the changes while playing it now.
We would be happy to hear how the local server feature works for you. However, we've also prepared two experimental servers—PvE (already launched) and PvP (launching this Friday, September 10th at 1 PM GMT/UTC together with the scheduled official PvP servers wipe). PvE server is hosted in the USA and PvP server will be hosted in Europe. These two servers will be live for about 2-3 weeks while we're preparing the update for the official release. Please note that they're using new default rates with nothing increased as we need to get feedback regarding the new vanilla experience—the balancing changes streamlined many aspects of the game to eliminate unnecessary grind.
How to try R31 Experimental
To join you need to manually set the CryoFall Steam branch to "experimental-r31". To access it please right-click on CryoFall in Steam Client, choose Properties, then open the BETAS tab, and select the "experimental-r31" from the dropdown menu. After the game is updated—launch it and find an R31 Experimental server in the featured servers list. You can also start a local game (and you can load a savegame from previous version if you've tried experimental local server before; changing the server rates is possible from the "Current game" menu once you connect to your server).
If you're using our GameLauncher app, just click the "cog" icon near the Update button and you will find an option to enable the experimental branch.
We really need your feedback this time. Please give the experimental a go and let us know what you think about all of the changes and all of the new content. Share your thoughts here in #general channel!
Q: Will there be a wipe of the official PvE servers with the R31 Update release?
A: No, we're ensuring compatibility with this update! Only the Official PvP servers are wiped every 3 weeks to ensure a level playing field.
Official PvP servers wipe
As you may know, all official PvP servers have regular wipes (every 3 weeks) to ensure a level playing field and offer a fresh economy with each new round. It's a major event that brings many players to compete with each other, starting from a common point.
Wipe date: Friday, 10th September, 1 PM by GMT/UTC time (as usual).
As was mentioned above, the R31 Experimental PvP server will be also launched at this time!
Global Clan Wars server discontinued
With this wipe, we've decided to remove Global Clan Wars PvP server in favor of CryoSmall and CryoFive Europe servers. Some day we may bring Clan Wars server back, but currently, there is not much sense in keeping Clan Wars server—no big clans were playing there lately and we wish to consolidate PvP players on fewer servers to facilitate higher online numbers on each of them. Overall, CryoFive provides a more balanced experience with players competing in groups of similar size, and CryoFive Europe has a scheduled wipe this Saturday.
CryoFive Europe wipe
Featured PvP community server CryoFive Europe is wiping this Saturday, 11th September (12 PM GMT/UTC). This featured community PvP server offers the most balanced experience for PvP players. With a strict limit of 5 players per team respectively (no alliances permitted) and reputable administration enforcing this rule, you can have peace of mind that the server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete. Join CryoSmall Discord to read further details!
If you wish to provide your feedback or have any questions, the best place to do so is Official CryoFall Discord server. Enjoy the game and stay tuned!
Official PvP wipe
We would like to remind you that all the official PvP servers will have a scheduled wipe soon. Wipe date: Friday, August 20th.

Plans for the next update?
It's been some time since the previous update. Don't worry, the work is progressing smoothly and we're preparing to launch the public experimental version soon. This time we're focusing on bringing a proper "local game" mode as well as expanding the end-game content and delivering essential balance changes and some new features. Stay tuned!
Official PvP wipe
We would like to remind you that all the official PvP servers will have a scheduled wipe soon. Wipe date: Friday, July 30th.

Server rates
We will keep using double rates (items/XP/LP) on all the official PvP servers until the next major update that will bring essential balance changes to make the game more enjoyable. Currently, the increased rates for PvP are especially important considering that the official PvP servers have regular wipes, and the resource costs are quite high for the PvP-related content (such as strong walls, turrets, ammo, weapons, and armor).
CryoSmall & CryoFive wipe
As an additional note, featured PvP community servers CryoSmall Europe and CryoFive Europe are wiping this Saturday 31st July (12 PM GMT/UTC). These featured community PvP servers offer the most balanced experience for PvP players. With a strict limit of 2 (CryoSmall) or 5 (CryoFive) players per team respectively (no alliances permitted) and reputable administration enforcing this rule, you can have peace of mind that the server provides equal opportunities for everyone to compete. Official PvP wipe
We would like to remind you that all the official PvP servers will have a scheduled wipe soon. Wipe date: Friday, July 9th.
As you may know, all official PvP servers have regular wipes (every 3 weeks) to ensure a level playing field and offer a fresh economy with each new round. It's a major event that brings many players to compete with each other, starting from a common point.

Server rates
We will keep using double rates (items/XP/LP) on all the official PvP servers. By the way, the recent patch has doubled the item slot capacity (aka "stack size") to make it more comfortable playing with double rates.
Max faction size on Global Clan Wars will be reverted back to standard 10 players (as is the default on all other official PvP servers).
CryoSmall & CryoFive wipe
As an additional note, featured PvP community servers CryoSmall North America and CryoFive Europe are wiping this Saturday 10th July (CryoSmall NA — 10 AM EST, CryoFive Europe — 12 PM GMT/UTC). CryoFive will also use double rates as the official servers. These featured community PvP servers offer the most balanced experience for PvP players. Server rate settings: - New server rate settings to adjust the density/number of certain resources in the world: -- Resources.PragmiumSourceNumberMultiplier -- Resources.PvP.DepositGeothermalSpringNumberMultiplier -- Resources.PvP.DepositOilSeepNumberMultiplier
Fixes: - The local server didn't apply proper rates (such as item gathering, XP, LP, boss difficulty) suitable for solo gameplay since the previous patch. We've verified it carefully this time to ensure that the local server uses the adjusted rates to make the game approachable in single-player mode (e.g. any boss can be defeated with a single Tier 4+ mech).
Fixes: - Fixed a server exploit that allowed to craft PvP-only items (e.g. bombs) by using a client mod on a PvE server. The server has proper checks now to verify that player has the necessary technology (previously the server only checked whether the crafting ingredients are available). - Hoverboard was unable to pass through cramped areas inside bases after the previous patch - Some entries of the servers list didn't refresh when pressing Refresh All button
If you're hosting a community server, it's highly recommended to install this patch. Please follow this guide to update your server: https://wiki.atomictorch.com/CryoFall/Server/Setup#Server_update.2Fupgrade_to_new_version
R30 Patch #2
=== CryoFall v1.30.7.3 (R30 Patch #2) ===
While we're working on the next major update (that will bring more endgame content and proper single-player experience/integrated local server besides plenty of other improvements and content), we also wanted to make many fixes and quality of life improvements available immediately to you with this patch.
Patch notes:
Improvements: - PvE: Large circle barrier will appear during the event preparation timer (20 minutes). It will prevent players from getting closer to the boss spawn area (this way it's no longer possible to camp the boss spawn). Players and vehicles that are located inside this barrier during the event announcement will be automatically despawned to prevent them from getting stuck there - Drone control: Improved target selection—you no longer need to point precisely on the object that you wish to mine - Greatly improved the servers list loading speed and reliability. It will also immediately prioritize the selected tab to load (e.g., when a modded servers list is selected, its entries are loaded first instead of waiting for other tabs to finish loading). The server Refresh button is also always available now - PvE: When a mech is destroyed (such as during the boss battle), its dropped remains (cargo, weapons) will be object-locked to the last pilot and its party (other players will be unable to take these items) - Medical cooldown notification displays a list of actions that are not available during the cooldown - Updated UI library NoesisGUI and network library LiteNetLib to the latest versions (fixes and optimizations)
Changes: - Pragmium power plant: Increased the power output of each pragmium fuel rod from 8 to 10 EU/s - Changed how the server items drop rate applied to gemstones, gold, etc. Increasing the server rate will increase the probability of obtaining such items instead of increasing the output amount. For instance, playing with x5 items rate will provide a single gemstone 5 times more often (in the previous version it provided x5 gemstones but as rare as with the default drop rate) - PvP: Increased structure relocation distance (in PvE it's already much larger) - Farm plots cannot be placed under other structures - Local server: Removed PvE boss event preparation timer as it's useful only for multiplayer PvE servers - In faction-owned land claims, only players with the land claim management permission will be able to complete the structure blueprints
Server settings: - Added console command to kick/ban the whole faction (useful for servers like CryoSmall and CryoFive) - Access lists (whitelist/blacklist) now moved to the SettingsServer.xml file to provide persistence between the savegames - Introduced separate item droplist rate for Space debris and Meteorite: DropListItemsCountMultiplier.ObjectMeteorite, DropListItemsCountMultiplier.ObjectSpaceDebris - LandClaimsPerLevel server rate limit reworked to remove the lower limit of at least 1 land claim per faction level - Limited the default max door owners number to 5
Fixes: - Switching to a protected PvP server ("no-mods") while having any UI active mods sometimes resulted in broken UI - PvE: Base guests can access doorbells and toilets (no permission required!) - PvP: Faction-owned land claim continues to show "under attack" status after the raid is over - PvP: Turrets were able to attack players on hoverboards that are behind a wall below - Japanese translation: Remaining status effect duration didn't fit under the status effect icon - Leaving a mech while firing its weapon sometimes resulted in firing the new weapon from the hotbar (it was visible only for other players) - Fixed various crashes when scrolling the servers list
If you're hosting a community server, you need to install this patch to allow the updated client to connect. Please follow this guide to update your server.
If you cannot connect to a community server because it's not updated, you can switch to the previous client version in Steam Client. Click with the right mouse button on the game in your Steam library, open Properties, select BETAS tab, and choose "legacy-r30-v0.30.6.8" in the dropdown menu.
