This small patch mainly updates a difficulty setting option for the player:
Players can now select one of four options for the difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, Legendary)
The difficulty must be set (clicked on) during character creation or loading a previous save
Each difficulty causes the enemies to be stronger
Each difficulty causes the enemies to grant more exp to the player when they die
Snow effects are now added to the main menu and first levels
A fix was added for the mouse cursor disappearing after clicking during the Talent Point UI
As listed in the previous update from this week, the focus for the next patch remains the same.
Dec 22 patch notes
This update adds a new helmet (Yule Helm) for the Ravager, which along with other classes will receive further armor updates such as helmets like the one shown below. The Yule Helm currently is only aesthetic (no stat modifiers to strength, magic, etc). Eventually all equipment such as helmets including the Yule Helm will add stat modifiers or other bonuses to the player.
Also patched in this update are the following:
Fixed a bug where the mouse would disappear (until hitting the Escape key to bring back the menu and mouse) after typing a name for the new character selection
Added detection for enemies if they fall off the map to count towards the number of enemies defeated for that dungeon (this will need a further patch for all enemies but only impacts enemies that might fall off the map for example)
Lowered the health, strength, and armor of the skeleton enemies in the first tower dungeon following feedback from the Discussions page about difficulty
Fixed a bug where the ability cooldown for Myrddin's shield was misaligned with the ability icon GUI placement
Tested the Yule Helm along with a new Viking helm for the Ravager class
Fixed other small bugs
The next patch expected this week Dec 22 will focus on adding more content such as:
'Exit' icons to enable so the player can locate the exit portal more easily
New compass GUI / images
updating all dungeon HUD icons
fixing steam achievement reward bugs,
updating the sound effects particularly for the Frost Path ability
fix other various bugs
Finish some or all of the skeleton mage's talent tree

Dec 17 patch notes
2 new random rare enemies have a low chance of now spawning in 2 of the first 5 dungeons. More rare enemies will be added to more of the dungeons hopefully within the next few patches. Rare enemies will be worth extra experience, may or may not be harder to kill, and are noted for the green enemy name text instead of white.
Improved the base mana regeneration rate amount for all classes to address issues mentioned on the Discussions board. Each class also gains more mana than previous game versions after leveling up.
Fixed a bug noticed on the Discussions board that centers the player's camera around an enemy named Boreas inside of the first ice dungeon of the first level.
Tested that a new skeleton mage and a new Myrddin class can be created as well as loaded after created them previously in order to address an issue shown on the Discussions board. This bug will still be tested to resolve any problems players might encounter due to lack of testing and information at this time about this potential bug.
Fixed other various small bugs.
Thank you to everyone who supports and takes an interest in this game despite how imperfect it currently is! There are still lots of extra features to add and bugs to fix. The talent tree for the skeleton mage is expected to be finished soon, while other classes such as Myrddin and the archer have already began testing for their own unique talent tree ideas.
As a solo developer, I also consider all feedback and especially appreciate people who believe that the game to be overpriced. By all means, please do not worry about returning a copy of the game! Introducing new Talent Trees

This update introduces a significant work in progress for Cryptr this month by introducing talent trees.
In addition to improving the reset skill point UI, there is now also a list of your character's abilities when you press N. Further work on the reset skill point UI will include other improvements such as clicking the skill point (e.g. mana/strength, HP, or mana) instead of pressing keys 6 - 7.
Currently, there are three new abilities that can be added to the Skeleton Mage. While in game looking at the Spells & Abilities and Skill Points HUD (by pressing N), you can hover over each icon to read the requirement and description of each ability. The three new Skeleton Mage abilities are:
Negative Armor Aura I - this is a debuff lowering the armor of nearby enemies within range
Negative Armor Aura II - furthers the negative armor debuff (requires Negative Amor Aura I)
Mana Regen Aura - significantly improves the mana regeneration rate of the Skeleton Mage and any nearby allies
The rest of the abilities on the Skeleton Mage's talent tree will be added to the game within the next updates. Along with these updates, players can also expect talent trees to be works in progress for all of the other classes.
New enemies, abilities, bosses, dungeons, and areas to explore are also coming soon!
