Hello Commanders!

Well we have had several jam packed days here at LS HQ and are absolutely excited and happy with the growth and general reception we are seeing for CSC. Thanks you all for playing and we are looking forward to getting these next set of features out!

CSC Version 0.6


This will be our NEXT update to the game client. For weeks the team has been testing and updating the build and in the near future we look forward to the release 0.6 and several additional features to the game. Some of the features to look forward to 0.6 are:

Refining Gameplay: Refining is a big feature for us as it introduces a core gameplay mechanic that will be the start of the in-game economic engine. With refining users will be able to check in and out the EC-20 resource tokens refined materials (ERC-20 Token Refined Resources: Iron, Quartz, Nickel, Cobalt, Silver, Titanium, Lucinite, Gold, Cosmethyst, Allurum, Platinum, Trilite, Aluminium, Iridium, Octavium, Galtronium, Pyrite, Peridot, Tourmaline, Diamond, and Ice). For resources to be used in CSC they will need to be checked in, once checked in those resources will burn from main net at a time interval and be virtually represented in the CSC universe. When a player wants to withdraw resources from the CSC Universe those resources will be minted and transferred into SE Address or a player ETH wallet. With this system the live and active count of resources in universe and on-chain will be verifiable and trackable via our CSC Pub APIs (this should also go live in the 0.6 series of updates). In addition, MEA and Pre-alpha resources will distributed w/ adjusted quantity based on current gameplay design.

Hangar Modules: Moving ships around the universe just became easier. Hangar modules will become active in one of the 0.6 updates. This feature will introduce a new tab to the cargo and station loadout view where players will be able to move ships between there ship hangars and stations. Future updates of this system will also allow for in space deployment of ships or other commanders being able to dock their ship in an empty hangar slot.

AOE Effects / Weapons and FTL Disruption: FTL weapons will be introduced in early in the 0.6 series, the weapons will prevent Slip Stream and local and interstellar FTL Jumps. AOE, Area of Effect, weapons and buffs will be introduced. Buffs will added in repair and shielding, weapons will allow for damage to be applied to multiple targets at once.
Ship Buff's & Pending Ship Modules: Our ships buff systems and class specific perks will be fully implemented late in 0.6 series. This will included specialization buffs for mining ships and the rebalancing of mining lasers to provide more effectiveness on class specific ships. Ships such as the DARA, Night/Frostsaber and Harvester all will get the missing ability modules.

Missions, Loot, Discovery: Daily, personal and community missions are coming. These missions will provide a slew of rewards that can be anything from GRP, to excuslive modules and even ships! Mission system will roll out in phases with more complex objectives and rewards coming in later phases. Loot and Reward systems will also be coming in play in this update series. Loot rewards for NPC drops will function as salvage drops, salvage that are collected can be taken to NPC facilities and traded in loot rewards. The quality of salvage will affect the type of drop and the STATION / FACTION controlling the facility can also play a factor in the drop results. Rewards from salvage drops can also be anything from GRP to modules, ship or even blueprints. Discovery will start rolling out, news updates will be dropped into a new in-game news feed that will indicate systems of interest. Players can use exploration beam to find procedurally placed salvage loot.

Quantum Jump Drives / TCF, Module & Fringe Check-in:
Jump drives will be coming ONLINE in 0.6, players will be able to refine or purchase Trilite Concentrate Fuel and travel across the system with ease. Quantum jumps will have cool downs and the quantity of fuel used is effect by size & WEIGHT of a ship. Meaning a full cargo load will cost more to jump than an empty ship. Note weight INCLUDES modules equipped. Modules will need to be checked in to show up in game starting during one of our 0.6 update. Fringe systems will also require checked-in ships or FF ships, users in non-checked / no-ff in ships will not be able to jump into a Fringe system.

Non-PVP Update & 40 Additional Star Systems: 40 new systems to explore with various NPC spawns, belts and stations. Non-PVP zones will allow user to target other player ships but will either prevent weapons fire or damage will be negated in these zones. This will allow for players to still provide SUPPORT (buffs) during NPC combat and to prevent friendly fire.

Changes of Note:

  • Disengage FTL button added
  • Can no longer have more than 1 cloaking module active


All Fixes:

  • Explorer Beams on Star Trek ships fixed 
  • Explorer beams no longer included in ship hitbox
  • Multiple spawns or re-positioning of complexes due to world shifting has been fixed
  • Not being able to create an account in-game without Steam fixed. 
  • Rare instances of weapons not working after undocking fixed.


Known Issues:

  • MMO Server - There might be rare instances where users might not see other users despite being the in the same group and channel. Restarting should fix it if it happens. 
  • GFI Security fleet still disabled
  • On rare occasions, the user's ship may become invisible after docking
  • In some instances, NPC won't show shields reducing when attacked.
  • When coming out of the jumpgate ship trail will flash across the screen
  • If user is in jumpgate longer than 60 seconds you must restart the client to get yourself out
  • Swapping error sometimes occurs when rapidly swapping modules - go a bit slower :)
  • Main Menu - Profile view of Modules - Details button
  • Galactic view will display incorrectly after using the Disengage FTL button
  • Closing the Navigation Map while in FTL won't allow you to reopen it
  • Undocking quickly after boarding a ship will cause an infinite loading screen or cause the ship to be invisible (restart client to fix)

Hello commanders!

As a reminder, the Enterprise 1701-D is currently on auction! Each auction ship comes with a full set of Tech Level 2 Star Trek Themed Modules (Item IDs 10965 - 10987). These Tech level 2 modules can only be acquired from the auction. You will not receive Tech level 2 in the Star Trek Supply Crates.

Events:
Wanted to give you all an update on the current standings of the Shard event. Below are the top 20 users with the most shards so far


Round 2 of the event ends on 9/9/19 at 3PM PST. This weeks yield is low so it’s a lot harder to get shards, but don’t give up commanders! There’s still time!

The winners of the screenshot event will be posted in tomorrow’s blog and 2 more crates will be hidden within EQ Pegasi on 9/6 at 11AM PST. We will post a clue to its location tomorrow!

Hello Commanders!

The first Star Trek ship NFT has officially sold! BobTheNailer is now the proud owner of a TOS Enterprise with CSC blockchain ID 1701. As a bonus we have added items auction winners will get in addition to these elite starships. All Auction ships will also include a full set of Tech Level 2 Star Trek Themed Modules (Item IDs 10965 - 10987). Only 6 sets of these modules will be made one for each starship auctioned.

Events:
Last night's surprise riddle event was a blast. Congrats to @Tarranuss and @Unity for discovering that Hidden Roadster and unlock the new Roadster Hideout Spawn. Team is working on several more spot events like this so keep an eye out on Discord or Steam for announcements for more events.

Our Divergence events are still in full swing for the Star Trek + CSC crossover!
To recap, the second Shard Mining Event is currently live and ends September 9th at 3PM PST. All ore in a users cargo (ship or station) at the end of the event will be counted! To add to the fun we will be add rewards for everyone who ranks in the top 10! Top 2 will get Event Crates and the remaining players will get Series 2 Premium Supply Crates.

The screenshot even ends tomorrow, September 5th at 4PM PST. Those winners will be announced on Friday.

Dev:
Core focus of the team right now is to isolate and fix our multiplayer desync issue. We have a server hot patch we will be pushing live in the next 30 mins. This should solve most of the issue but a client patch will be required to further address the problem. We plan to have another minor patch update later this week.

0.6 and new features are just around the corner. The bulk of our dev effort is currently focused on getting us to FEATURE completion of CSC. The largest feature we are looking to release in the near term is 0.6 Resource Refining. We have broken this update into phases to allow us to test segments of this system in production and address issues before releasing the next set. A break down of how we will be deploying 0.6 - 0.65 will be posted soon so you can know what to expect.

In addition to 0.6 feature we also will be pushing NEW weapon damage types that will enable some existing module features. These new weapon types are FTL disruption, Slip Stream disruption, and Engine Disruption. Players, with the appropriate modules, will be able to now effect another ships ability to enter FTL or slipstream, and/or slow a ship down. This feature might go live before 0.6, we will keep you posted if that is the case.

Hello commanders!

First off,
we've had a very successful launch for the Star Trek + CSC Divergence Alpha Event and want to thank you all! Just as a reminder the event is 5 weeks long with events happening every week.

Regarding the shard event, similar to our past events, we will be counting all shards across all users ships and station inventories for a final count. Wording for future events will be updated to "users with the most shards in inventory.” There are more shard events that will happen throughout the 5 week event, the second one starting today at 5 PM PST. Please keep the above statement in mind when participating. The current shard event ends at 3PM PST. Between the times of 3-5 PM PST users who mine will lose their shards until the event officially begins again at 5PM PST.

The U.S.S. Enterprise NCC 1701 is still up for auction and currently has about 22 hours left! Follow our Store page to keep up with the live auction!

We are currently getting ourselves back on track and working towards a 0.6 feature release. The team has some bugs to look at but are primarily setting up for the next feature releases.

Star Trek™ + CSC — Events Week 1


Greeting commanders!
The Star Trek™ + CSC Divergence Alpha Event begins today! As a reminder, the first auction, U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 is live today at 11AM PST. The Star Trek™ Supply Crate sale begins at the same time. Check those out here.

We have a number of events planned over the duration of the Divergence Alpha Event. So let’s jump into those now!

Shards


Starting on August 29 at 10:30 AM PST, shards will be seeded into asteroids in EQ Pegasi. The quantity of shards within the system will vary week by week. Some periods of time will have a higher yield of shards than others. Commanders will be able to mine for these shards until September 3rd at 3PM PST, when the players with the most mined shards will be rewarded. The top 3 users who have mined the shards will each receive a Star Trek™ Supply Crate as a reward. There is a limit of 2 crates per commander for the Shard contest; users can only win twice throughout the entire 5 week event . The next round of the Shard Mining Event will begin September 3rd at 5PM PST and end the following week on September 9th at 3PM PST. Stay tuned for our Week 2 Event post for the next set of dates.

Hidden Crates


On Friday August 30th at 5PM PST two Star Trek™ Supply Crates will be hidden within EQ Pegasi. Commanders must use their exploration beams to uncover these crates. Two more crates will be added the following week at 11AM PST on September 6th. More Supply Crates will be added in the coming weeks. These crates will exist until discovered.

Enjoying your new Star Trek™ ship? Take a screenshot of your new starship in-game and submit it to us in Discord. Submit your screenshots to the channel “ST-Screenshot-Event”. We’ll choose our top 3 favorites and reward each winner with a Star Trek™ Supply Crate. This event ends Thursday September 5th at 4PM PST. Winners will be announced September 6th. By submitting your screenshots in this event you give Lucid Sight permission to use your screenshot for any social media or marketing purposes.

Design Updates

  • Star System: Rigel Kentaurus A&B has been updated with new Asteroid belts for users to explore. These belts will not show up on the System Map.
  • Star System: SOL has updated NPCs with markers in the System Map for users to test out modules against varying difficulty drones. These NPCs will spawn after lingering in the specific locations for a few moments.
  • SOL Drone Training Grounds Easy - Battle against small drones will limited firepower
  • SOL Drone Training Grounds Intermediate - Battle against small drones and possible medium drones with limited firepower
  • SOL Drone Training Grounds Hard - Battle against several small and medium drones with average firepower
  • Star System: Faction Traders Sighting added to SOL- Spawns FSC NPCs that may be hostile towards users entering the asteroid belt.

Hi Commanders!

0.5.43 is now live! Has many fixes but most critically the MMO server should properly sync players in all cases. Please let us know as you play if you have instances of not seeing another commander you know is there. There were a few issues that did come up in testing regarding NPCs and jumpgates, if you happen to be in a jump gate LONGER than 60 second go ahead and restart the client, we know what the issue is and will be fixing in on another patch this week. We have also pushed fixes which should handle most STUCK loading cases, might be a few more out there but we expect 95% of stuck loading should be solved at this time.


Changes of Note:

  • When switching loadouts in active ship in the Hangar, the stats change green if the change is positive and red if the change is negative
  • When viewing the modules after the supply crate reveal, there is now a Detail button that you can click to view the modules stats
  • Planets outside of Sol show as a Question mark planet icon on the Navigation map
  • New FTUE flow
  • Under the hood updates to support new events and in-game encounters.


All Fixes:

  • Sigma XRB-9134 Slipstream fx fixed
  • In Profile: currency is now updated when used
  • Vulcan Packer trails not aligning fixed
  • From Main Menu: Pop Ups "X" UI was added back
  • Ship's max cargo being changed to equipped cargo module fixed
  • Hangar UI - Hover text showing double fixed
  • Photon Server - Users not being in the same channel fixed, users getting desynced when docking & undocking fixed
  • Cloaking would sometimes not show user as cloaked or only be active for 3 seconds - fixed.
  • Beam weapons now target ship critical points.
  • Rich content display system is now being used for FTUE, will be used to support missions and quests in coming builds.


Design Updates:

  • Phoenix Breeze FF Cargo Capacity went from 35,000 to 400,000
  • Phoenix Breeze MP Cargo Capacity changed from 29,500 to 400,000
  • Vulcan Pod Cargo Capacity changed from 20,000 to 400,000
  • V.I.C.E. Vanguard SE Cargo Capacity changed from 750,000 to 1,000,000


Known Issues:

  • Photon Server - There might be rare instances where users might not see other users despite being the in the same group and channel. Restarting should fix it if it happens.
  • Maelstrom F81 FTL Drive, Maelstrom F82 FTL Drive, Vulcan Novastar Flash Drive not working as intended: these show as hard points, & Slipstream speed is significantly decreased
  • In some cases, when in fullscreen windowed mode, UI hitboxes will be off centered and prevent users from activating various buttons. Resize your window to combat this.
  • GFI Security fleet still disabled
  • Sometimes when docking you might get a suspicious activity notice, disregard this as that is a false positive notice.
  • On rare occasions, the user's ship may become invisible after docking
  • In some instances, NPC won't show shields reducing when attacked.
  • On Main Menu screen - Selecting DETAILS on a module after the supply crate reveal does not work
  • If a user stacks cloaking modules they may be able to activate multiple at a time
  • When coming out of the jumpgate ship trail will flash across the screen
  • In some rare occasions, users will see double their crates in the inventory after purchasing- the UI is loading incorrectly and does not accurately reflect the number of crates the user has
  • If user is in jumpgate longer than 60 seconds you must restart the client to get yourself out


Be sure to check out Eq Pegasi, a Research Station has been put up to investigate this odd rift forming… What could this mean for the CSC Universe, are worlds colliding? :smile: Rumor has it pirates are about in Eq, so make sure to be armed if you plan on mining.

Changes of Note:


  • Ship hangar view in station updated to be as a tab next to station cargo
  • Besides click and hold to drag modules, you can now instant pick up a module or resource when in the station by clicking and holding on the Icon.
  • Click and hold anywhere else for 100th of a second will also pickup that item.
  • All star systems now have unique space backdrops.



All Fixes:


  • Fixed Chat View disappearing when undocking
  • Fixed Logs and Ship Inventory Views showing when docking
  • Fixed modules activating while in the hangar when boarding another ship
  • Fixed being able to double click while docked which made the ship move out of the hangar.
  • Fixed FTL exiting when changing time to the future.
  • Update pack opening view in the client. (Larger video, large reward reveal)
  • Equip and Ship Hangar has gotten a full overhaul: Ship layout now auto-saves when equipping.
  • Server and client security updates
  • Fixed some modules allowing for instantaneous FTL jumps between star systems
  • Crash on close (Issue was Windows Only) has been fixed.
  • New dialog system implemented to support rich media (for tutorials and missions)
  • Fixed Cloaking Module Sound




Known Issues:


  • PURCHASING Crates in client does not UPDATE your in-client GFC balance. Balance is only updated when you buy currency in this current version
  • Maelstrom F81 FTL Drive, Maelstrom F82 FTL Drive, Vulcan Novastar Flash Drive not working as intended: these show as hard points, & Sublight speed is significantly decreased
  • In some cases, when in fullscreen windowed mode, UI hitboxes will be off centered and prevent users from activating various buttons. Resize your window to combat this.
  • GFI Security fleet still disabled
  • A user might get de-synced when docking and undocking making other players not appear though they are online as well. (Undock and rebooting the client sometimes resolves this).
  • Sometimes when docking you might get a suspicious active notice, disregard this as that is a false positive notice.
  • Pop up screens from Main Menu UI missing the "X" to close out the windows. You can still click the corner to exit though.
  • In some instances, NPC won't show shields reducing when attacked.
