Next update will include: - Additional hacking and cyborg-hunting tutorials - UI/UX improvements - fixes on menus and combat
Thanks again for your trust and support. We are here for you, Operators!!
Need help with hacking?
Hey there Operators!
It seems that the hacking mechanic is a bit cloudy at the moment. This is a quick tutorial so you can keep progressing in the game.
Your main tool to interact with entities and enemies is your Hacking Console. The Console is an "enabler": it allows to affect enemies and entities in different ways.
This is the Console. You need to right click on an enemy or entity, or press the assigned key, to bring it up. It will show the ID of the device or enemy on its upper left corner. That is important!
------------------------------------------------------------ Starting from Affect, you need to move the cursor to the right of the console, using the WASD keys (or whatever you assigned to console navigation).
- At the start of the process, you need to enable level 1 hacking in the command column. - In the Device column, you need to match the data with the current ID of the device being hacked. - After that, you can run the process and the device or enemy will be hacked. But only at level 1.
REMEMBER! You can use run+[A] to automatically open a new Console to quickly increase the hack level.
------------------------------------------------------------ In order to have access to more powerful tools, you need to go beyond level 1 hacking: Access the hacking console again, on the same device. This time, from Affect, go to enable.L2, match the device ID and run the process.
------------------------------------------------------------ Now you have Level 2 hacking on this device, and new options to Affect are available.
------------------------------------------------------------ You can repeat the process until you reach Level 3 hacking.
------------------------------------------------------------ Now you have available all Affect processes for this specific system or enemy.
------------------------------------------------------------ Remember! If you don't want to speed up things, you can always choose to go to the next hacking level through the Device Panel, using the highlighted button on the system. Sometimes, it's faster this way, since you don't have to look for the device inside the current level.
We are working on making this information easier to understand in the game, as well as other difficulty adjustments to make your experience smoother.
Thanks again for your support!!!

Beta Testing: working on your feedback
Hello Operators!
We know you have been playing the Beta and the Prologue, and we are grateful for all your feedback.
This post is just to let you know that we have been digesting all your comments, suggestions, pains and bug reports and we are working double-time to include as many of these improvements as possible in the full release version.
A few reminders:
Make sure you are playing the "open_beta" build by selecting the correct branch (in your Steam library, right-click on Cyber Ops, then click properties, go to the BETAS tab, and choose "open_beta"). Here's a quick how-to: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7021-eiah-8669
You are all playing Beta version, untested builds, so you will most likely find some weird stuff. Your role at this stage is absolutely important because we are putting the game under hundreds of eyeballs, so you are seeing things that we as developers might not have seen. I can't stress how grateful we are :)
Activate auto-update, as we are uploading fixes every couple of days.
Ok, so we are getting closer to launch date. Our city is back to full lockdown because of COVID-19, which make things even more stressful, but we are totally focused on delivering our best for you, guys.
We can do this together!!

BETA SIGN UP FORM CLOSED
Hello Operators! Sorry for the delay in our usual Devlog Tuesday, but we have been working really hard making sure that everything is set for the upcoming Beta and then the final release.
BETA SIGN UP FORM CLOSED
Thank you very much for signing up for the Beta!! We have closed the applications for now, so you will hear regarding the next steps from us soon.
At the same time, we as a team, are working on some of the last improvements, some UX and visual polish here and there, difficulty balance and double-checking that the game is ready for the different languages and versions.
You guys have been with us for a long time, and we truly want to thank you for your permanent support and contribution with ideas, questions, and overall encouragement.
These last few months have been strange for the whole world, but looking back, it's been a nice ride after all. And as we are approaching the final stages of the development process, we are already thinking about the moment of finally releasing the game to the world. And honestly, regardless of the results, if we manage to put a little smile on your face when you are playing our game and you feel that your time with Cyber Ops was worthy, that will absolutely mean the world to us.
We are only (and nothing less than) human, after all.
