CyberThreat

Updates: Comfort and Performance

Update 0.2.5

New Experimental VR Comfort Features

We've added movement line and VR Comfort View restriction as options in Options > Experimental.

Performance Improvements

We've focused a lot of effort on this update for performance improvements. The performance should be smoother over all. If you're playing in an Oculus Rift, you will see substantial improvements.

Updates: Expanded Map

Update 0.2.4

Expanded Map

We've Expanded the map with a new highway zone, park, parking deck, and a few more blocks.

Improved Visuals and Effect

We've reworked the visual stylings to make the colors, reflections and effects really pop.

New Allies

We've added an allied tank and a new CyberThreat soldier in FreePlay.

Improved Performance

- We've worked hard to further optimize performance across the engine.

Improved Teleportation

Teleportation has been improved. One big improvement is to re-orient it to match the weapon line of sight. This allows you to more easily keep your weapon trained on the enemy as you advance.

Experimental Features

We're testing a few new experimental features that can be enabled from the Options menu:

  • Riding - Turn this on to allow the player to move with items they are standing on. For instance jump on the back of a tank to hitch a ride. It's also fun to stand on top of a light pole and then ride it down as it is destroyed. This is a preview of vehicle support we have coming soon. This may be a bit much for those who are prone to motion sickness so we've made it optional and would like to hear your feedback.
  • Tank Control - Enable this and the Ride option and then hop on the back of a battle tank. Grab the machine gun handle and your hands will turn into tank controls. One hand will control the machine gun and the other will control the main gun. Squeeze the grip and tilt your hand to steer the tank. You can also jump off the the tank and control it remotely after you've taken control. We're still refining these controls but wanted to get your feedback.
  • Hardlight Suit Support - If you have a Hardlight suit from Hardlight VR (http://www.hardlightvr.com/) enable this to feel the impacts and explosions. As with the other experimental features, this is a work in progress, so feedback is appreciated.

Rocket Launcher Upgraded

Rocket Launcher Upgraded

Is your Rocket Launcher running out of ammo? Well now it is not a problem. Your rocket launcher will replenish its supply of rockets every 10 seconds up to 3 shots. You can still pick-up rocket packs to boost the total even further.

Cinematic Camera Session Only

To prevent having it be inadvertently on, we've changed the cinematic camera to be on only for the current game session.

Arm Running

Adjusted the balance to make arm running smoother and jumping easier.

Hide Movement Panel

We've added an option to hide the movement panel that shows at launch.

Update 0.2.3

Extreme Parkour

Extreme Parkour

We're incredibly excited about the new version of our parkour system. All actions are completely automatic. Simply swing your arms to start running. Swing them together to jump. Walk up to a wall and stick your hand in to climb. No button presses involved.

If you are holding onto a surface when climbing, simply click the trigger on that hand to disengage.

The new Parkour system delivers a new level of immersion into the game.

Control Changes

On the Vive we've remapped weapon switching to the Menu button. To pause the game hold the Menu button down for one second.

Clankers Are Now Destructible

Disassemble them piece by piece with your guns or all at once with a well-plced rocket or grenade.

Grenades

We will be adding more explosives and ways of carrying them, but we wanted to allow you to start playing with them sooner, so we sprinkled grenades through the Campaign, Night Patrol and Free Play levels.

Heal Allied Soldiers

If an allied soldier has been killed by the clankers, simply touch them with the palm of your hand to revive them. This can be particularly helpful on harder levels and it gives you a bonus if they are alive at the end of the level.

Improved AI

We've improved the AI to improve performance and to help them hone in on you even faster.

Improved Secondary Weapon Grip

We've enhanced the visibility of the secondary weapons grip and worked to minimize accidental triggers.

Cinematic/Selfie Camera

We've enhanced the cinematic camera which now adds a touchpad controls on your left hand to change follow mode and camera distance as well as providing a view from the camera so you can see what your audience sees. Touch the left our right side of the camera control to move it in or out. Press down on the top of the touchpad to toggle the camera mode, or on the bottom to return to the through the eyes view.

New Allied Drone

We've added a new drone model, but this time it is on your side. Keep an eye out for it in Free Play. We plan to allow a friend to take control of it and join you in the game in the future.

Numerous other fixes and enhancements.

- Update 0.2.2

More Shrapnel & Languages

Enhanced Shrapnel Effects

We've amped up the intensity and realism by adding particles and debris that fly off as bullets impact into the environment.

New Language Support

Added support for 6 additional languages including Chinese-Simplified, Chinese-Traditional, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.
We have quite a few changes in-store for the game, so the current translations are temporary. If you notice any issues or would like to help out with the existing languages or another language email us and let us know.

Numerous Performance Improvements

Update: 0.1.4

New: Flamethrower

New Weapon: Flamethrower!

Available as part of Night Patrol and unlockable in Open World once you reach 350k.

Two New Enemies: Flame Turret and Dragon Drone

Flame turrets are tough foes and incredibly deadly for human allies.

The dragon drones are one of the most terrifying enemies in the game. They will pursue you without mercy and you won't last long under their fiery breath. Take them down with prejudice at first sight.

6 New Missions: Night Patrol

Take a enemy stronghold, run the fire gauntlet and battle dragons in this brand new expansion.

Zoom Teleport

Zoom teleport moves you to your destination rather than blinking. It can help improve location awareness over instantaneous teleport. You can enable it in options. We've left this as option for now since it may be too intense for users who are subject to motion sickness.

Forward Arrow

If you use a system that only has tracking on one side or just want to know how you are oriented in the real world, we've added a indicator on the ground which will point towards the front of your play space. This can be especially helpful if you're using Snap Turns.
