This update addressess some balance issues that we think will make your experience with the game a smoother, more entertaining one. The biggest change is the removal of most of the minigames completely. For some time now, these minigames have been a fairly divisive and we ultimately couldn't make them fit in a nice way with the rest of the gameplay. The core of Damsel is speed and precision, and these minigames weren't contributing to that.
The other big change is the increase in Damsel's starting health from one hitpoint to three. One hitpoint was causing frustration for many players and making combat more forgiving means fewer restarts and more time completing missions. Damsel is most enjoyable when you get into the flow of movement and combat and too many deaths took away that opportunity.
Here is the complete list of changes.
Remove all minigames except hostage rescue and bomb diffusal.
Lower amount of skull combo required for first super skull to one.
Increase starting health on all missions to three.
Lower damage of rockets to two hit points (previously three).
Address issue with some controllers not connecting correctly.
Hacking a server will now spawn two chellenge enemies.
Cracking a safe will now spawn three skulls.
Fix bug where best time is incorrectly recorded.
Fix bug where 0% accuracy is incorrectly reported on mission complete screen.
Increase reload speed of shotgun.
Fix bug where hostages could be shot when just off screen.
Fix bug in bad tutorial that may help better explain the concept of skull dashing.
Fix some bad translations that were showing an error.
As always we are open to hearing your thoughts on these and other issues as well. We believe that the game should be a living entity and we don't have any reservations making dramatic changes if we think they will give you a more enjoyable experience.

We've just pushed out a new update that addresses a minor issue with the hostage hacking minigame. The booby trapped hostages should now only appear in episode two and beyond. :)

We’ve just pushed out a quick update that addresses a bug in the computer hacking minigame that may have made it more difficult to complete than intended.
Hacking should be a little easier to manage now :)
Damsel Release Date Announcement
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Damsel will be leaving Steam Early Access on the 19th of October!
On release, Damsel will feature two episodes, "Market Research" and "Supply Chain Management" with episode three, "Executive Incentives" following closely after. The episodes contain all the great gameplay you've enjoyed during early access with the addition of beautifully illustrated comic cut-scenes that take Damsel on her adventure into the bloody world of the corporate vampire.
At the same time, the weekly challenge will continue on as the "Damsel Dash" and the stakes will be higher than ever. From launch, the winner of the weekly "Damsel Dash" will be in the running to win prizes, including exclusive Damsel merch that will make you the envy of everyone you know.

We are excited to announce that Damsel is entering the final phase of Early Access and will be transitioning to full release on Steam soon.
We would love to thank everyone that has supported us so far – those who have reviewed, streamed, given feedback, played and enjoyed the game, you all rock! We also want to thank our friends and family, without who there wouldn’t even be a game to play. It has been a long journey of over three years and we are excited for this moment to come.

Coffins and Clone tanks now spawn skulls when destroyed.

Damsel will now only shoot enemies while ducking, this allows coffins and other destructibles to be used as cover. This also allows killing an enemy that is behind a hostage. Everything can still be shot while Damsel is standing, including hostages, watch out!
