Agents, the DSA has uploaded a new build of Damsel that addresses the following:

Game Improvements

  • Twitch -boom functionality now queues chat commands to address streaming lag.
  • Heavy morts (Rockets and Beams) will now fire at damsel more predictably.
  • Update the UI for the timebomb countdown to be more conspicuous.
  • Tutorial canvases now have a slight delay before being dismissable.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix bug where combo timer becomes stuck.
  • Fix bug where cursor can be stuck on menu screens.
  • Fix bug where rocket morts can shoot player from below the screen.
  • Fix bug where the player can be stuck in a knockdown state.
  • Fix placement of some spawn points for dynamic (i.e. twitch controlled) elements.

Agents, the DSA has uploaded a new build of Damsel that addresses the following:

Game Improvements

  • Add Hothead mode to campaign (Mission fails when you lose your skull combo)
  • Add Twitch Chat support. -See streaming settings in the options menu.
  • Add vSync toggle to graphics options to (hopefully) help address some lag issues on some machines.
  • Update Charger attack behaviour - will now charge past Damsel for a second.
  • Add countdown timer to bomb hack minigame.
  • Some particle effect tweaks.
  • Some new hints added to the hint list.
  • Enemy spawners now have a slight delay to allow the player to breathe (especially during checkpoints).
  • Enemies are now prevented from walking through obstacles (like spikes)
  • Refinements to hack minigame. (Can't button mash through it anymore, sorry :))
  • Update cordons that sourround checkpoints.
  • Options screen UI overhaul.
  • Some minor mission element placement tweaks.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix bug where the weekly arcade challenge could end prematurely.
  • Fix some sprite placement issues.
  • 'Bump' (Player knockback) added to some items where it was missing (a noticeable in chillout).
  • Fix bug where enemies are not stunned from the second dash through them.
  • Fix instances where Damsel can move through lasers and electric cordons.
  • Fix bug where the skull combo text doesn't reappear after pausing game.
  • Fix some enemy/wall clipping issues.
  • Fix bug where some enemy's health bars would remain after death.

Update Notes - Selene (0.9.2.1.181)

Agents, the DSA has uploaded a new build of Damsel that addresses the following:

Game Improvements

  • Episode 3: Executive Incentives is now playable!
  • Much more health in the game (triple the amount).
  • Melee attacking a Blood Barrel will now give you the heart without the enemy spawn (usually)
  • Checkpoint have been rewritten, you're now locked in an area and must keep the enemies at bay (no more satellite breakages)
  • Flamethrowers now only do one hit point of damage.
  • Unlimited attempts at the first mission in an arcade challenge.
  • Three attempts for each additional mission in the arcade challenge, resets each mission.
  • Chargers now wreak havoc on items in their path (including Blood Barrels, watch out!)
  • The Rooftops and the Back Alley have a little extra breathing room on the sides of the map.
  • Add Red Mist advertisement to start of the game to trick you into buying that sweet, sweet, Red Mist.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix bug where touching a black widow will not injure player.
  • Fix bug where spikes and other hazards will not bump Damsel across the map.
  • Fix bug where Executive will attack player straight away on one of the later building site missions.
  • Fix bug where Damsel can wall jump up invisible walls.
  • Fix bug where skulls can get stuck in walls.
  • Fix bug where Damsel will not Dash correctly across some floors.


And that's all the missions in the game folks! 75 in total. We now enter a phase of balancing and tweaking mission layout and features, so still expect things to change.

Let us know in the forums of any issues you're having, or just to suggest things you might like to see in the game. We can't do everything, but it never hurts to ask :)

Also, if you stream your Damsel game play, let us know so that we can come and silently lurk in the stream, judging you. We've already made some great changes to the game based on watching you play. So please keep it up!

Update Notes - Graf (0.9.1.2.169)

Agents, the DSA has uploaded a new build of Damsel that addresses the following:

Game Improvements

  • Add 'Chillout Playstyle' for those that want the action without the consequences.
  • Game loads quicker, preventing the time on the desktop before the first screen.
  • Add news section so that players can keep up to date on the progress of the game and community.
  • Tweaks to game quality settings to make things run faster / smoother.
  • The 'Decaying Levitator' now has her final projectile, a bouncing plasma ball.
  • The hostage rescue canvas now always places the rope in the centre as moving it served no mechanical purpose.
  • Damsel can now no longer destroy a satellite, allowing easier defense of it. (though this entire feature is being reimplemented, more info soon)
  • Black widow patrol states are now a little nicer, no quick drops to the ground.
  • Update the camera position on missions set outside to be further back. This makes many encouters easier as well as changes the sense of scale for these missions.
  • Enemy 'hearts' now only appear when Damsel has line of sight.
  • Levitator/Player detection has been improved, you shouldn't cop a plasma ball to the face from off screen now :)
  • Campaign button is now highlighted by default in main menu.

Bug Fixes

  • Fix bug where flying enemies spawn collectables on top of each other.
  • Fix bug where charger continues to attack when game is paused.
  • Fix bug where projectile hit detection is too narrow when projectile moves vertically.
  • Fix bug where bones do not impact a ducking player.
  • Fix bug where hostage rescue canvas places 'rope' in incorrect position.
  • Fix bug where some buttons do not highlight correctly in menus.
  • Fix (remove) specular reflection on some shaders.
  • Fix bug where some names in the arcade high score tables would overflow.
  • Fix bug in "Underground Slums - Destroy Coffins" where an enemy doesn't spawn from one of the cameras.

Game Improvements

  • Modify speed skull combo timers to give a little more time.
  • Added modal tutorials for some mechanics.
  • Removed metaskulls from the game, now just collect as many skulls in a single combo!
  • UI rearrangement to place combo meter closer to score.
  • Dashing through enemies now spawns more collectable skulls, get that score even higher.
  • Temporarily reduce the number of projectiles fired by the tier two executive.
  • Update UI for some minigames, not final.
  • Simplify post mission UI.
  • Change graphics on mission failed UI.
  • Update mission selection screen to remove references to metaskulls.
  • Remove requirement to start episode two missions, but play episode one for practice first.
  • Add scoring for skull combos (50,000 points per skull in max combo earned)

  • Fix bug where bones and rockets are hard to shoot.

  • 'Arcade' button is highlighted by default on main menu, should be 'Campaign'.
  • Campaign does not yet show story cutscenes.
  • Minigame UI graphics are incomplete.
  • May still be able to clip platforms during dash, but greatly reduced.
  • The hostage rescue canvas sometimes draws wrong. Just mash that button while we work on a fix.

  • Projectile logic updated to be more robust.
  • Projectile and Hazard hit effects updated to include impact velocity.
  • Camera hitbox size doubled.
  • Black Widow logic rewritten based on gameplay observation.
  • Enemies no longer attack while player is in a 'Knockdown' state.
  • Enemy rocket speed reduced.
  • Executive plasma ball speed reduced.

Update Notes - Graf (0.9.1.0.102)

Agents, the DSA has uploaded a new build of Damsel that addresses the following:

This update is the transition from Early Access phase one (Spike) to Early Access phase two (Graf).
There is currently no access to arcade for chapter two (unless you continue from the end of chapter one) this will be added in the next update.

Game Improvements

  • 25 new missions.
  • 5 new arenas.
  • New enemy types (Black Widow, Redded Enemies, Black Executive, Electric Mort)
  • New mission type - Defend the checkpoint.
  • Reload speed increases when reaching a new skull level in a mission.
  • Chargers now only move Damsel around the arena, rather than taking a hit point.

Bug Fixes

  • Many, many, many bug fixes.
  • Many optimisations.

Patch Notes - Spike (0.9.0.1.62)

Agents, the DSA has uploaded a new build of Damsel that addresses the following:

Game Improvements

  • Damsel can now melee in midair.
  • Destroying a power station now destroys all electric nodes.
  • Being melee hit by an enemy now only stuns and does not apply damage.
  • Skies now appear in outdoor missions (and they're beautiful)
  • It now rains on The Rooftops.
  • Reduce hostages collider size to make them a little safer. (You monsters will still kill them)


Bug Fixes

  • Fix bug that causes some enemies to remain in play after they were killed.
  • Fix bug where hacking games do not pause when game is paused.
  • Fix bombs still counting down when game is paused.
  • Fix misnaming of mission 21, 'Counter Intelligence'.
