Early Access Technical Beta at 24.12.2016 and more...

Changes in Technical Beta:


- New A* Pathfinding System.
- Engine from Unity3d version 4 to version 5 upgraded.
- Better graphic and memory performance.
- Player max level reduced to level 7. (more information comes bellow)
- Resource Tree converted to Forest Resource. Forest Resource allow you to buy Trees and Mushrooms.
- GUI and UI reorganised. It is now more intuitive. Right panel goes complete for economy and supply.
- Drop Down have better performance.
- OnHover and Drop Down UI is much better now and give you complete overview of units abilities.
- During the fight you can redrop your units only 1 time.
- Minimap is now actually do, what it should do. Minimap still follow main character but gives you 100*100 overview of what's happen around.
- Forest Soul Skills
- Chicken Skills (not final name)
- Hardcore (more information comes bellow)
- Magic Shop is not any more in the game, it will be completely deleted to technical beta. All objects which was available in the Magic Shop are now available on the left panel. After reorganisation of UI its now easier to use summoning panel.

What comes not in Beta? But was in Alpha and Why? (All this futures are still in Alpha)


- Garrison available at level 15. The main point why Garrison is not in beta, it just need a new graphical interface, what will not ready for beta release. At all i satisfied with Garrison how it works.
- PvP Forest Assign is not available because of level limit now, I think maximal player level at release will make PvP more interesting, because all player will have same opportunities to protect own and destroy enemy forests.
- Missions like arena and Goblin Dreams will be merged in the history line, also they are actually not bug free.
- Ranking/Tasks/Daily.

all other futures will be still available in beta.

What is Forest Skills?
- Forest skills influence your economy and supply.

What is Chicken Skills?
- Chicken skills are skills for chicken which you character hold in his left arm. He/She is your second character. Chicken is in compare with you a mighty Wizard and have extremely powerful spells. (more about chicken comes below in History/Singleplayer information)

Hardcore!
As i started to develop Dark Forester, i thought to make the hardcore game. After starting alpha many players complain that the game was too difficult. Some characters like Troll and White Bear was to overpowered. Minimap does not really helped to become an information where the next enemy will come. Also AI was bugged and it was really hard to play hardcore version.
I fixed troll and white bear, deleted minicamera... but not fixed the main problem!
Then i refused of 3 things and deleted them from the game:
first one was, if you die, you lose 2 levels.
The second was: if Forester House was destroyed, its game over, you should begin from the beginning.
And the Third one is if you lose a big count of Trees its also game over.
(So actually alpha version is kind of buggy softcore mode)
After fixing Pathfinding problem, reconstructing minimap and playing a bit Dark Souls 3, i think it makes a game interesting if it's like a pain in the ass...
Technical Beta: if you character is over level 5 and you dies, you automatically lose 2 level. But it can never fall less then level 5. So if you are level 6, you'll lose only 1 level.
If your Forester House was destroyed you lose and must start from entire beginning-:) You can build more then one Forester House, if at least one Forester House is available you are still alive. I also think about some kind of Insurances (if Insurances comes, then only in final version).
If you have only 30 Trees you are dead. You have almost 300 Trees when you start the game.

Why maximal player level 7? in Alpha maximal level is 17
I reorganized many thing in the game and also recalculated experience. For example last 5 level in final release will be really hard milestone. I want to see that everything in Beta works fine, out of bugs, that's why i simply reduced max. level. But i'm sure that Beta is more interesting then Alpha.

Price Policy
Price was 27,99 then was 3 times reduced, and then came to 1 dollar for 3 month because i tried to test PvP Forest Assign. Now i think that was a bad idea, i just should set maximal character level for PvP, what i actually did now for the release.
Then i increased Price to 27,99 again because i tried to block purchases for a while to make everything fit for beta. (Community was not really happy)
Price goes now to 8.99€ i think its fear enough. For many of you who does not play Dark Forester at all, i would recommend to buy the game during sales between 24.12.2016-01.01.2017 when Beta comes out.

Bad English
- i hired a translator, so ingame English (Campaign) should be fine (not like here)

History
As you know there was and there is now no history and no singleplayer in the Early Access.
I was all time fixed on other stuff in the game. But now i think that History part of the game can be really great. History part will merged in every aspect of the game. You cannot separate Multiplayer, Singleplayer or PvP Forest Assign its all now part of one big History. History must be translated in English, many thinks must be still fixed. But this is not the main point why you should wait of release. This is my wish that history comes only after release. I reveal now only few things now: Chicken is a former Dark Forester. Goblin the main character is from the earth and after some accidents waked up in another world. Now he will do everything to come back and Chicken will trying to help me.
Many design in the game will influence character in the future, so yes, you can choose the side, will you become good, evil or stay neutral. I can only point one more time that both character Goblin and Chicken are seriously upset and will trying to do everything come back to the earth.

About Indie and developing time
I'm really disappointed that almost every not top company used the word Indie. So, we have so many Indie games now, which are actually has nothing with Indie to do. Indie is now almost every company with Budget lower then hundred millions. For me is Indie if you have no budget, if you have budget for the game and becomes salary it is not any more Indie. So i would call me true indie developer-:) Dark Forester developed without Budget and i come to developing only in my free time.

About MMO Aspect
i become so many questions where is MMO and what is MMO aspect in the game.
I would compare PvP Forest Assign with Clash Of Clans, where you can attack enemy Village if player is not online. So the same is in Dark Forester. You have your units, you character, your skills and can attack absolutely any offline player.

About Crossplatforming
As you know you can play alpha Dark Forester for Android Tegra k1 processors and download it from Google shop. After game release ill care about android version.

First week of october comes more information about the game, price policy and development stage.

Next Patch, Future and price policy

After 2 week sales price goes back to 29,99$
i decided to stop making a little content patches and concentrate on global big patch.
After almost a year i see, that it was a mistake to put the game (alpha) to early access, because most of people await complete prepared product and does not really help during early access phase.
At least i still think that early access is the great feature by steam!!!
With raising prices, i would like to avoid purchase bevor next global patch is out there.
Next Patch will contain many great futures, but the most importants are:
- Pathfinding (AI)
- 3 First Campaign missions
- Random Generated Forest
- Prelude to Dungeons

Вышел Патч 1.2

- В игру были добавлены порталы
- Портал призраков вызывает во время боя духов медведей, волков или кабанов
- Набеги противников также обзавелись пятью видами порталов
- Drag and drop и левая панель были существенно улучшены
- Проблемы с загрузкой или перезагрузкой, когда игрок возвращался на основную карту и снова оказывался первого уровня устранены
- Уровень сложности игры повысился
- После 62 набега игроку будут противостоять 7 порталов.

Следующий патч выйдет в это воскресенье:
- Новое Здание: Портал в подземелье. Стоимость 10 Золотых, 20 деревьев и 100 монет
Вы можете строить портал, портал может быть уничтожен в отличии от портала призраков.
- Подземный портал будет вызывать новых существ, которых еще нет в игре.
- Treant будет доступен с первого уровня
- Надеюсь проблемы со звуком в 3д режиме также...:))

Patch 1.2 released

- Portals was added to the game.
- Spectral portals summons spectral bears, wolves and boars during the fight.
- Enemy waves spawn sometimes different kind of portals(fire, fiery spectral or elite)
- Drag and drop and left panel UI changed/updated
- Problem with Load/Level/Restart fixed
- Game difficulty was incrased
- Wave 62+ spawn 7 portals.

Next patch comes this sunday:
- New Building: Dungeon Portal: Gold 10/Wood 20/Coins 100
You can build dungeon portal; dungeon portal is not immortal like Spectral portal and can be destroyed.
Dungeon Portal summons new kind of units.
- Treant will be available by level 1
- Sound problem(3d view) should be fixed

Patch 1.1 released (primary skills content)

- Primary skills for basic, fire, lightning, earth schools added (max. level 17)
- 19 new spells (Apocalypse, fire rain, meteor, dooms hammer, fire rock, lightning ball, earth shield, freeze time etc)
- Primary skills consist of primary spells, combinations and passive skills.
- Combinations add some effects to your primary spell like tornado, apocalypse, teleportation etc
- Demolition Cow and Smoky Cow texture description fixed.

Primary skills 'reset' costs 10 Gold. Until the first of October you can reskill just by choosing another skill. After starting a Dragon Iland Event primary skills 'reset'/reskill will be possible only by clicking 'reset' button.
