New Cockpit views

Faction Wars Update #1

A first step toward Factions Wars this patch sets the ground work for character progression and Squads.

- You now gain XP during battles and gain levels and rank. Currently levels only unlock the ability to create a squad but they also form part of the base core for Faction Wars and will affect the game further in the future.
- Squads - You can create a squad at level 7 and you can invite other people to your squad via the global chat interface.
- Squad stats are recorded in battle and are displayed on the Squads screen.

We are looking to reward the current Early Access adopters for their support at the beginning of the new year with some sort of visual badge. Stay tuned!

Update 0.0.6.7 LIVE!

Update to 0.0.6.6
We pushed a emergency update to 0.0.6.6 (0.0.6.7) Saturday that fixes aiming bug found in first person mode. We also fixed 2 crash bugs. We will have another update this week with new missions.


We are currently working on many new features which is why its been awhile for a new patch. We are at the point we can start releasing new patches again, and should be doing so more frequently.

NEW FEATURES:

- Sniper cannon for Switchblade and Viper Chassis, has a 2 km range
- New zoom levels (default key is Z)
- Torso lag added, similar to turret lag on tank game. Allows you to look around a little faster then your torso rotates. (CAN LOCK TORSO in options menu)
- Brimstone and Hellfire lasers currently follow the camera and not the torso. FEEDBACK needed.
- Default throttle change to not stick, optional sticking throttle with -/+ keys and are rebind-able
- Added more feedback when hit by explosive weapons such as rockets and missiles
- Added full screen damage affect

UPDATES and BUG FIXES
- Increased visible distance on all missions to accommodate
- Updated several weapons with increase muzzle velocity.
- Balanced weapons to allow for a bit faster pace to combat.
- Updated Coastal mission with layout changes and new buildings
- Added menu music
- Changed mech stomp sounds to vary
- Added explosion to destroyed weapons
- Power plant now explodes on downed mech
- Removed friendly names unless targeted
- Fixed mounting issue with targeting laser on Abolisher
- Fixed issues with 360 controller
- Fixed issues with mouse sensitivity. Slider now works correctly
- Fixed issues with under water FX staying on when leaving game

DHMC DEV DIARY 10/31

The next update is right around the corner, which will be followed by 2 more updates before the winter holiday.

We have been working on various parts of the game including:

New and updated missions
Weapons and mech balancing
new weapons
mech movement and cockpits
and Faction Wars….

Coming in version 0.0.6.6

In the upcoming patch version 0.0.6.6 we have working on improving performance so we can update visual distance in the game, reducing the amount of fog.

Why is this a big deal you may ask? We have added 2 new zoom levels for use with long range weapons, like the ARCs, LARBS and the NEW! sniper cannon which will be released in 0.0.6.6 .

Also coming in the next build is a new mission “Crashsite”, updates to the mech balancing, additional feedback when being attack, and many bug fixes.

And then?

Coming shortly after is something we are all excited about, and for this we will just let the picture speak for itself.

First person cockpits have been a long time coming , and the first iteration to make it back into the game is coming later in November. With this we will also support server settings to force cockpit only.

And last but not least we are hard at work on Faction Wars, with elements coming out over the next couple updates with the start of the persistent system coming soon..

Upcoming Events

Patch 0.0.6.5 LIVE

While we continue to work on faction wars, we decided to post a new patch with the rendering changes plus a few other things.

Changes

-Graphics Update: Changed rendering over to deferred setup and improved the linear space lighting
-Map Updates: - Updated Lighting and postfx on all of the missions
-AI Updates: Updated AI to not side step and use torso twisting
-Removed postfix toggle in options. PostFX are now always on unless you are changing lighting to lowest and it disables postfx.
-Fixed bug so you go back to multiplayer menu if lobby fails to create

We will do another content patch with 2 new missions ahead of Faction Wars.

DHMC Sunday Blast - 9/7/14 - Twitch Stream

Come out to join us this Sunday to send off August with a Blast. September is here and alot of great features are coming.
