Day Zero 1.0.0!

Hey everyone!

Day Zero 1.0.0 is finally here!

I promised to release the game as soon as it was ready to release, so I am going to release it tomorrow on 12/20/19!

This update includes a major patch that resolved a lot of the issues with core gameplay mechanics and includes a wide variety of new features and items!

I have updated a lot of the user interfaces to reduce load times and hitches when opening menus. The updates also improve readability and ease of use.

You will also find that the Nexus has been reduced to it's core elements to help improve performance.

There are a couple of Intro quests that have been added to give you some more content while I get Season 2 ready such as Restoring Power to The Nexus, Hiring New Companions, Locating The Void and more!

There are a number of updates included that will help me prepare for the Season 2 update, which will include more features centered around space, , spacecraft, land/air/sea vehicles, fleet building and diplomacy!

One of the biggest additions you will notice is the Unity Network addition which gives you access to a new Journal, Diplomacy and Exploration system while also adding a couple of handy features that will become relevant as I get closer to releasing the Season 2 content.

You will also find a Laptop located in your Personal Quarters that gives you access to the Nexus Manager where you can access a few mini games and extra ways to farm resources without having to grind too hard.

I also went ahead and added a few encoded notes to the Intro level and spread a few around areas that you will find while roaming to get you ready for some of the Season 2 exploration features!

Day Zero - 0.9.0

I have also added close to fifty new weapons, a store system, and a new hive cluster scenario for the single-player Campaign!

You will also find massive bug fixes and adjustments from the previous build.

I still have a few things I want to tune up, but the second I'm finished the game is coming out!

0.8.0 - RPG Elements!

0.8.0 is here!

The new update brings some new RPG elements to the game that will help bring you closer to Day Zero's story-line and it's impact on the rest of the Universe.

The companion system has been revamped to make it easier for users to build their team and conquer the solar system.

The Nexus is back with a ton of new rooms that contain NPCs waiting to be convinced to join your adventure!

NPCs will now have unique dialogue options and side quests that will give you the ability to unlock unique items, weapons and story options!

I've also updated the market system to make it easier to sort and browse items, and the new wallet system makes it easier for you to track your assets and different currency types.

The racing system is back with multiple tiers and prizes!

0.9.0 will bring a lot of bug fixes, adjustments, and a ton of new items! This will roll us into the 1.0.0 update that will include all of the Campaign elements!

State of Day Zero

Hey everyone!

I wanted to drop in and let you know that Day Zero is still doing awesome!

There are a couple of bugs with the building system that need to be addressed, and I still need to test some things before I push the game back to the Steam team for the review process.

Once I have those things fleshed out I'll be ready to release!

I don't want to give a hard deadline as there could be an unforseen issue that sets us back like before, but I am feeling good about where the code is and where we are going to be able to go with the game in the future.

We have just entered version 0.7.0, and I will have more patch notes up soon, but for now we are really just dealing with bugfixes and minor weapon/item additions. I don't have any new features planned until the game is released and I've had a chance to get your feedback

Thank you all so much for being so supportive during this setback. It broke my heart to have to delay the game again but, thanks to all of the awesome supporters I have, I haven't (and won't) give up until you have an opportunity to enter the Oculus!

Delays

Hey everyone,

It's been awhile since I've posted anything, so I wanted to drop in and let you know that everything is okay!

I'm working on some better tutorials to make sure everyone is able to get access to all of the features the game has to offer.

There have also been some major updates to the UI which has taken most of my time since I am designing most of the UI assets and materials from scratch.

I've also been adjusting some of the core systems to support more features in the future which took a bit longer than expected, but everything is still functioning as it should. Most of the changes are cosmetic, so I don't expect any major bugs.

I'll have a new build up soon so testers can get access to the latest features!

0.6.0 - Exploration & Diplomacy Update

Hey everyone!

This new update includes improvements to the exploration and diplomacy system.

I've added an encoded notes system that will contain journal entries from different characters. Each note is encrypted with a series of unique keys. Collect all of the keys to unlock the notes!

The diplomacy system includes passive quests that will give you unique rewards as well as a new UI for viewing and managing your relations.

You'll also see some minor bug fixes and adjustments, new items and more improvements to the planet generation algorithm.

0.4.0 - Moar Buildings!

Hey everyone!

I've started the process of adding all of the building meshes to the game. This means that you will have the ability to recreate any structure that you see in the game!

There are hundreds of new parts already, giving you endless possibilities when it comes to making unique buildings!

I am still in the process of developing new methods for creating complex compounds and materials, so crafting recipes for the buildings will be relatively simple for now.

I also went ahead and added all of the modular sword pieces to the item list. Now you have the ability to create thousands of unique swords using a few simple parts!

Hey everyone!

I have now added the full periodic table of elements as collectible items. This means that most of the crafting recipes are going to be updated.

My plan is to make crafting as realistic as possible, so you will be seeing more build parts coming soon as well!
