DeadSide Work In Progress #4 - 100 bots test

Friends, in continuation of our previous post, we decided to show the optimization results with live numbers in our small test video.

During testing around the player spawn 100 bots that move in large groups on random points of patrol. The radius of spawn bots is 150 meters.

The test was conducted on Ryzen 5 2600, 16Gb RAM, Radeon RX580

We deliberately test performance not on top hardware, so that the tests are as reliable as possible and close to the recommended requirements of the game.

ATTENTION! IMPORTANT!
This video has a technical nature and does not show the real gameplay. What you will see in this video is an artificially created extreme situation in terms of the number of characters in the frame, to test the maximum possible load on the client. In a real game situation, you will not immediately see such a large number of freely moving bots, as in a "real" game situation it will be impossible to cope with them. A sufficiently large number of bots can be seen only on hard level missions (30-40 bots.)

In addition to building the world and creating content for it, we are also tightly engaged in the optimization of everything that is directly related to the players and bots, so that their number in the world was impressive and in Deadside would not be bored.

Now we have achieved that in the zone of activity of the game character (3x3 km), at the same time there can be about 200 units of characters (including 50 players) with an adequate load on the game client. Based on these figures, the total number of characters in the world can reach up to 1000 or more. How many players will be supported by the server in the end, we will find out directly at the alpha testing, which will begin this fall.

Fighters, work is proceeding on all fronts and we are making every effort to approach the beginning of alpha testing of the DEADSIDE.

In particular, at the moment we are working on a variety of appearance of players and bots, as well as parallel work on content for level design and Assembly of the world.
Today we have prepared for you some new material - versions of the heads and some of the hats.

Anticipating questions about the customization of appearance and the degree of its depth, just say that at the stage of early access customization will be limited to the choice of ready-made bodies ( bundle - body + head) when you first access the server. In the future, we will add a selection of hairstyles and, most likely, tattoos.
