The “So what’s next?” announcement!
Thank you for the feedback so far. We appreciate it! Whether it’s negative, critical or positive it is invaluable for us. We want to rectify issues and obviously improve the game.

Our first aim is to reduce frustration. This doesn’t mean easier - but it does mean more wins, more variety and less grind earlier in the game.

We also plan to roll out the game’s story. Specifically the who, what and why of Death by Game Show’s setting. This will be both in-game and via blogs.

And that leaves audio… We are going to remove some of the frustrating bits while adding more variety. If you have any VO suggestions please reach out to us!

Expect more information on changes tomorrow as we hope to roll out an update this week.

Happy Death by Game Show Launch Day!!!
KABOOOM!!! It’s launch day but we’re not just announcing the game. That’s obviously releasing today, so what else could we possibly be talking about?

#1 - Our competitions start now, if you are a video maker/artist or other creative type go check out the discussion forum as it may interest you. We’ve got a fantastic monthly competition going for the best stuff submitted to our community hub and workshop.

#2 - We’ve added new videos to our Community Hub. These include a Let’s Play showing Challenge 9-6, an overview of the editor and how to customise our text/sprites.

#3 - We’re working on 1.1 which includes a practice/skirmish mode. It will also include any bug fixes you guys (or us guys) find. So if you spot anything let us know. Or if you have some ideas on how to make it better, we’re all ears!

What is Death by Game Show?
Death by Game Show is a mashup of strategic risk versus reward and old school arcade. It’s what we’ve coined as Twitch Strategy.

We love strategy games but find ourselves often in limbo between Tower Defense and Real Time Strategy. We wanted to create something quick to play but also challenging and gratifying. We needed that old school arcade progression - where learning patterns and honing reactions determined victory.

We also love titles that leave solutions open. We chose to build sandbox challenges, limited only by space and arcade inspired objectives like earn $10,000,000 for example. There’s nothing like finding a new solution to claim victory and as each winnable consumable potentially leads to a new strategy Death by Game Show keeps pressure on the player.


Death by Game Show is so much more than just over the top humor and robust customisations like sprite, text and challenge editing. It’s a complex game which is both strategic and gratifying.
