It's always in the last place you look
I've been chasing stability problems for at least a month, pulling my hair out the whole time. But now, I think I found it. I solved one problem earlier today which let me see the real problem. Special thanks to the player that helped me find it (Joreen? I should've written it down...).
It turns out the Play button was to blame. I didn't see that one coming.
The new version with the fix should be up within 3 hours of this post.

Hi folks,
New update (hopefully) fixes a HUGE stability issue.
I think this is a big one. I think it will fix all the "doors won't open" and "can't pick up" kinds of errors, and also the "never finishes loading" types of errors.
Let's give it a whirl this weekend while the servers are open. I'm going to reboot the poor, old, DDNA Dedicated Test Server with the new update. My fingers are crossed.

Hey guys,
Good stuff coming tonight:
Vehicles have working lights (driving at night is possible now)
Introduced a way to light dark interiors when there are no lights to turn on*
Make light switches glow softly so you can find the damn things
Increase walkable angle to 50 degrees so you can go up steeper terrain
Fixed issues with vehicles getting stuck moving between forward and reverse
Attempted to improve hit detection when target is moving across your field of fire. Should make hitting people in vehicles easier in a fair way
Added a cause of death message to the "you-died" screen
Various stability improvements
* The thing we added is a test of a portable light source. I called it a Glow Puck(tm) lol. They look like little green discs. When you find one, walk up to a wall (or a jeep, or a deer), go to your inventory and double click the Glow Puck. It will stick to whatever you're looking at (within a meter or two). It only stays around for 40 seconds, so move quick!

Banner night tonight!
We've made a lot of progress on stability in the last two weeks, and we are proud to say that we have reached a small milestone tonight: we managed to have a game where nobody hung or crashed trying to join, and in which we played through multiple rounds with no server side corruption or errors!
This is a huge accomplishment and it would not have been possible without you guys helping to bang away at it.
It's not all great news, however, and some testers have made it clear that we have some work to do in the important areas of not pissing people off with bad hit detection / damage / weapons / armor values etc.
We wrote it all down, and once we get over our hangovers tomorrow we'll be back in front of our keyboards pounding this thing into shape.

Hey guys,
We made a lot of progress today working out stability problems. History has taught me not to be too optimistic, but I think this will solve some problems. Specifically, problems that begin when a server goes bad.
This version also has a newly updated tactical and compass map, some general look and feel ui improvements, and has some new jeep LOD models.

Ok, Let's give this one a whirl.
It will hopefully solve some of the egregious stability problems (cases disappearing, not being able to pick things up or respawn etc).
I'll restart the DNA Test server with this version.
