Thanks a lot to all of the community members who joined the Gameplay Beta last weekend. We had a lot of fun playing, and the feedback is helping to guide us in the right direction. For those of you still unsure, don’t worry, we’re still taking all of your feedback on board and there’s a lot more refinement to come. We’ll be back with Gameplay Beta 3 in November.
In addition to hopefully releasing the new gameplay changes into live, we have *a lot* of exciting things planned coming over the next few months. We are working on a lighting and optimisation rework for all of our maps: improving the visual experience, gameplay balancing and performance all at once! This winter we’ll be diving into the toybox and bringing back our beloved Christmas event, and as some of you beady-eyed deceivers have already theorised there will be some new friendly and not-so-friendly faces making their debut soon.

Gameplay Update Beta - Coming Soon!
Throughout the year we've been working on designing, and testing, some fundamental adjustments to the way that Deceit is played. There are plenty of reasons behind why we're wanting to make these changes, but some of the standout ones are:
Making Deceit a more intuitive game.Whilst many of the mechanics in Deceit are quite simple to understand once explained, they're not always easy to grasp straight off the bat. A new player should be able to pick Deceit up and have fun without having to study the game first.
Setting Deceit up such that we can easily add more content. With how Deceit is structured right now it is quite hard for us to add new, exciting, content without it causing a balancing nightmare. We want to be able to quickly iterate on adding new and interesting content to the game, keeping it fresh and replayable for all players.
Increasing the opportunities for deception in-game.With how it currently stands, Deceit can quite quickly be 'solved' early on in the game. We want Deceit to hold up to its name and truly have deception tactics that can be used throughout the game.
So, where are we at right now? We're currently testing, and iterating, our first set of changes, loosely named the 'Flow' update. These changes are primarily targeting improving a player's first time experience, encouraging more discussion & deception and making voting more intuitive. So far our testing has primarily been purely within the development team, but we have recently started playing with some select members from the community to get their input. In the near future we'll be opening up testing these changes to a wider audience in order to get more feedback on the direction we're taking the game.
Interested in helping test & provide feedback on these changes? Join our Discord server to be kept in the loop about participating. We anticipate that these tests will start over the next week or two, pending on our internal tests.
See you in-game! The Baseline Team

2020 Summer Event
It's Summer time! When you next open the game you'll be greeted with a new interface to help you track your progress throughout the Summer event.
Summer Rewards First things first, the loot. This event there's 35 blisteringly hot new rewards to get your hands on, just be careful that you don’t burn yourself. Some of these rewards can be earned through our free Summer Getaway Story, and all of the rewards can be earned directly through the Loot Booth when using Summer Tokens (now available in the store). Grab as many rewards while you can, and if you're lucky enough to get everything there's even a special emblem waiting for you. There are three free Summer tokens waiting for you in game to help you get started.
Here is how the rewards break down for this event, with every character receiving a cosmetic outfit. Go into the Summer Event interface to see them in all their glory:
Summer Getaway Story We know you might be stuck inside right now, so we decided to bring the holiday to you. How about a well deserved break away in the Spanish Riviera? This event we’ve got a 25-step Challenge Story which changes based on the decisions you make. And get this, from start to finish it's free-to-play. Go to the Challenge interface in game to get started.
You'll notice as you progress through the story line that there are both free and Premium Rewards available. Premium Rewards will only be collected if you buy any Loot Booth pack during the event. Don’t worry if you pass premium rewards without having purchased a pack, if you choose to buy one later on you’ll collect all the ones you’ve missed.
Sizzler Bonus & Tickets The Summer Sizzler Bonus is a new system that's part of the Loot Booth during the event. Whenever you play the Loot Booth you'll collect points that fill a bar. Once the bar is full you'll receive a Ticket.
Tickets have a rarity and allow you to pick any reward matching their rarity in the Summer Event interface. Simply click on a reward to redeem your ticket.
Cosmetics, Loot Booth & The Vault In addition to the Summer Rewards going into the game today there has also been a bunch of new cosmetics added to each character. We've also gone through all of the cosmetics in the game and adjusted some of their rarities and names to make the overall experience of collecting them feel more complete. Head to the Profile to see what's changed.
The Loot Booth has even been updated this release. It now features an improved flow when using tokens and displays your rewards in the 3D scene. We’ve also marked a bunch of cosmetics as Legacy and put them into The Vault. These will still be obtainable as rewards from the Loot Booth but very rarely. We’ve also included event rewards that are over a year old here so you can get them all year round rather than waiting for an event.
New Feature: Sprays We’ve added a new cosmetic type to the game, the Spray. These are new graphics that you can collect, with over 40 being released today. Head to the Profile to view them in all their glory and equip them per character. Then, when you’re next in-game press ‘C’ to tag the map with your chosen spray.
Performance & Stability Improvements As part of this update we’ve included a first version of some performance improvements we’ll be doing over the next several updates. This week’s update in particular targets users who play on ‘low’ graphics settings, and should enable people on lower end hardware to have a smoother experience.
In addition to this, over the past few weeks we’ve released several hotfixes which has reduced the number of crash reports we received by over 95%. This is something we’ll be continuing to monitor and will aim to reduce this even further.
