As we alluded to in our previous post, we have an anniversary coming up: DRG is turning five! In other words, it’s been five whole years since we launched the game into Early Access. And we couldn’t help ourselves (this is becoming custom), we had to do something special for this occasion. This event feels very special to us, and whether you are a Senior Miner or a new starter here at DRG, we hope you will feel it as well when you get to experience it. So let’s get to the announcements, shall we?
Year 5 Anniversary event
Yes, there will of course be an in-game event for this year’s anniversary. With Space Rig decoration, rewards, and botched Longbeard Freight deliveries - all that you have come to expect. More details will be revealed in due time, but you can already add it to your calendar: The Year 5 anniversary starts on Thursday, 2nd March, and ends on Thursday, 16th March.
But wait, there’s more.
DRG Legacy
To commemorate 5 years in orbit, we are adding the option to play the original version of the game. That’s right, you will be able to play DRG as it was when it originally launched in early 2018. Maybe you feel nostalgic and want to go back and experience those early days of glory. Or maybe you just want to appreciate everything that has been added since launch by actually seeing how different the game is today by comparison. Either way, grab some friends and mine like it is 2018.
Supporter II Upgrade DLC
We got carried away - again. There’s been a repeated question from many of you: how can you help support the game since all the content updates we have released since launch have been free. So, for those of you who want to show your continued support of Deep Rock Galactic, we have put together a most decadent, most luxurious, most supportive package of cosmetic DLC and extra goodies. Behold, the aptly named, Supporter II Upgrade:
To all of you who will be donning the GSG GUARDIAN Weapon Framework and Armor Paintjob, as well as throwing back Supporter-styled Oily Oaf brews, we salute you. Rock and Stone!
There will be a couple more supply pods of information before we arrive at the Year 5 Anniversary. We will, just as in previous years, have a live stream from our office where we’ll talk about the past and future of DRG. We are in the midst of nailing down a date for this live stream and will of course tell you when it is confirmed.
And in case you were wondering, no, we are not slowing down on Deep Rock Galactic. On the contrary, we have never been as busy making exciting new things for this labor of love which now turns 5. Keep your eyes and ears open for more details on this, coming your way soon.

The fact that we are celebrating half a decade of Deep Rock is something we could only dream of when we first launched the game. We couldn’t be more pleased and proud to celebrate this milestone anniversary with you, our awesome community. So here‘s to the last five years, and may there be many more to come - we can’t wait to share them with you!
As most of you know, Deep Rock Galactic is always recruiting new Miners to fill the company ranks. Working on Hoxxes is a rewarding yet dangerous undertaking, so to maintain headcount the company needs a steady inflow of new starters. And that is where you come in.
Make a recruitment video of modest length (0:15-1:00 minute in length), showing potential new recruits why they should join Deep Rock Galactic, and you may win some very handsome rewards: A Golden Loot Bug plush, a gaming headset, a dwarven beard wig and a signed poster from Ghost Ship Games. Besides being celebrated by the team at Ghost Ship Games, of course.
What’s that you ask? Is this just an excuse to get players to make an ad video for us? Nonsense! To prove that baseless allegation completely wrong, we have actually made an example video ourselves. Which we will submit for the competition, thank you very much.
We believe no one knows what makes Deep Rock awesome better than you. Which is why we want to see what you’ll come up with. We will showcase all nominees and announce the winner during our Year 5 Anniversary stream.

Lunar Festival 2023
Hello Miners,
The Lunar Festival officially starts today! There is plenty to enjoy in this first (but definitely not last) Seasonal Event of 2023. As the moons of Hoxxes converge once again, here is the list of what you can experience:
The Lunar Festival Assignment - a celebratory opportunity to put in some extra hours for the company - and to get handsomely rewarded in the process.
The Lunar Rabbit hat - Rewarded for completing said assignment.
A decorated Space Rig for you to enjoy with your team members while wearing said hat
An opportunity for Double Season XP awarded when you find and deposit decorative rabbit statues during missions. Yes, the Longbeard freighter carrying the shipment crashed onto Hoxxes…again. Management has some questions for whoever signed the exclusivity agreement with Longbeard Freight.
And as has become customary, you will of course get last year’s Lunar Festival hat when you log in during this event.

Season 03: PATCH 12 (build 81873 - 13/01/2023)

This patch contains a fix to a delay on Gunner’s shield throwing abilities and inconsistencies with O2 replenishment when within the range of more than one oxygen source. Additionally, the Anniversary Year 4 Hat is back!

Lunar Festival 2023 - Preview
Hello Miners,
The Lunar Festival is making a return to DRG in 2023! Yuletide may have just ended, but you will get to experience this next Seasonal Event already next week. The Lunar Festival will start on Thursday, January 19th.
Some of you with grey streaks in your beards remember the Lunar Festival of 2022, but this new festival has got a fresh coat of paint (or Space Rig Decoration). Let’s go through what’s in store, shall we?
First, there is the assignment. Yes, another opportunity to put in some extra work and get compensated handsomely in return. Besides a hefty payout, you will also receive the Lunar Rabbit hat, specifically designed for this festivity.
Second, there will be Space Rig decorations. 2022 was a good year, so Management has increased the party budget and not just reused last year’s decorations. Mostly. Maybe a lantern here or there came from storage (we still have a bottom line, you know), but this event should feel fresh and new, even for last year’s attendants.
Finally, Management made another order of decorative items, this time rabbit statues. It is still being delivered by Longbeard Freight which has managed to crash their delivery into Hoxxes twice now…but that will surely not happen a third time. In the highly unlikely scenario that it does, Management is again willing to reward double season XP for any retrieved statues. But it’s a moot point; no one would be incompetent enough to crash their delivery into the same planet three times in a row.

PleaseFix is a player-driven bug reporting and resolution platform. It is where you go to tell us if you see a bug (the non-Glyphid kind), and where you will also be able to see bugs reported by other players and comment on them.
Since we launched DRG into Early Access back in 2018, the game has been supported by our amazing community testers. They have helped make DRG a smooth, stable experience, and for that, we salute you! To all of you who have tested the game over the years, Rock and Stone!
We spend a lot of time collecting, verifying, and fixing bugs together with the community, but there will always be bugs. A bug-free game is a game with no players. And as you saw from our previous post, more of you are playing Deep Rock every year.
With the DRG PleaseFix site, we want to make it even easier for you to report, reproduce, and help resolve bugs. The site will also let you vote on bugs currently in the game, so we can better prioritize them.

We hope you’ve had a great 2022, and are ready for all the exciting mining opportunities this new year will bring. We took a bit of time off during the past few weeks, but now we are back again and hard at work on DRG.
With 2022 behind us, we’ve taken some time to take stock of how the game has been doing. And many of you have been asking for new numbers, given the excitement created by our last infographics two years ago. We will also be taking a bit of time away from the Studio between now and New Year. And we will be back and well-rested in 2023, hard at work on many more exciting new updates for DRG. We are not quite ready to talk about those yet, but we promise you will be the first to know once we are ready. They will be exciting. We promise.
