Demon's Rise - Lords of Chaos

Upcoming Game Release - Strike Team Gladius

Strike Team Gladius is our next major release. We've been working on it for the past year and half. It's built on the same core, turn-based game engine as Shieldwall Chronicles but adds lots of new game mechanics such as explosive terrain objects, new ability types, passive skills and lots more. It continues the storyline of Strike Team Hydra but brings the combat planet side. Larger maps in a variety of locations, each with their own tactical nuances.

2.0 Patch - Bug Fixes and New Character Class Added

- Chaos Dwarf Berserker class added to the roster, bringing it up to 25. The Chaos Dwarf is a melee specialist with the ability to amplify damage and combat prowess at the expense of his own health and survivability.
- Numerous bug fixes
- Several minor UI improvements
- Underlying Unity game engine upgraded

Werespider Character Added in 1.9 Update

Hi everyone,

Today's update includes a new playable character. The sinister Werespider who is an armoured melee fighter with the ability to use its webbing and paralysis poison to ensnare and weaken its enemies. It also includes updates to the store to make the item sorting easier to use.

This version includes an upgrade to underlying game engine so there are a lot of performance improvements and other changes under the hood. This may result in some odd behavior so if you notice anything, please let me know and I'll work on the fix. I believe most, if not all, items have been addressed but it's always possible something slipped through.

Upcoming Patch Details

Here are some details of the upcoming patch. There will be a new playable character class called the Ratkin Plague Blade. He is a tough warrior with abilities focussed around spreading disease. There will also be an option in the team selection screen that allows you to fight with a smaller warband.

Other changes include some balance tweaks for various character classes, some improved lighting effects and a change to the Hard difficulty to make it a little less difficult.

The patch is in final stages and should be out either today or Monday at the latest.

UPDATE - Update 1.81 has been uploaded. Please let me know if you find any issues or bugs with this release.

Preview of team size options

Due to player requests, the next patch will include the option to select a smaller party size. This is for those hardcore players that want to make the game harder. Still a lot of small things to clean but the core mechanics seem to work.

1.7 Patch Notes

Some major improvements to the shop keeper level in this update as well as a few minor bug fixes.

- Shop keeper now sorts items in categories by item type. Amulets, rings, weapons, etc. are now in separate categories.
- Removed the old "cheap, normal, premium" item categories.
- Items are now sorted in ascending order of price.
- Fixed a bug where characters with no missile attacks were showing missile attack stats in the shop keeper character stat screen.
- Several minor bug fixes.

1.6 Patch Uploaded

- This patch adds the new ninja character class to the roster. The ninja is a stealth-based melee fighter that can teleport and use an array of deadly weapons to hunt his enemies.
- Fixed a bug where the correct patrol mission marker was not being checked off on completion.
- Fixed a bug with the Soul Eater's Bloodrage ability where it did not work correctly.

Upcoming Characters Preview

Here's a preview of two upcoming, new character classes that will be added in the next update. The first is the stealthy ninja ... a cunning assassin class that can use poison darts, dual blades, and every trick in the book to kill his enemies.

The second is the Ratkin Plague Blade, a nasty fighter that uses disease as a weapon. His blade oozes corruption and he'll have the ability to infect enemies with several, long-lasting debuffs. His pox-ridden body will also be surprisingly resilient and immune to pain.

1.5 Patch Uploaded

- Added a new playable character class called the Toadman Guard. A tough, brutish warrior that can emit poisonous slime and gases from his skin during combat.
- Added a new tooltip that appears when the mouse hovers over a tile. This tooltip displays terrain effects, collectible details and a summary of enemy units with their hit points, action points, and counter attack details.
- Added a new party-member summary on the left side of the screen that displays each surviving party member’s hit points and a small icon to denote whether that unit can attack, move or perform any abilities this turn. Pressing any of these icons also focuses the camera on that character and makes him or her the actively selected character.
- Removed zero value items as rewards for completing a level. Instead, players will instead gain an additional 500 gold for completing the level if the random reward item has zero gold value.
- Fixed a bug where the end turn button would disappear if the space or end turn button was pressed while a character was performing an attack.
- Fixed a bug where receiving an extra attack due to an ability would not refresh the enemies that can be attacked until the player manually clicked on the active character.
- Fixed a bug where the wrong patrol level would be checked off as completed when patrol levels 5 or later were completed.
- Fixed a bug where unchecking the “persistent corpses” option would not cause corpses to be hidden automatically.
- Fixed a bug where the inventory stat screen incorrectly capped certain characters’ dodge and attack skills at 100.
- Fixed various minor bugs.
