Depth: Feeding Frenzy
Wartime in the 20th century proved the Oceanic Whitetip to be one of the deadliest sharks. Feeding frenzies against shipwrecked sailors became such a problem that a special unit of the Navy was formed and headed by ace diver Wilhelm. With cooperation from the Russians, Wilhelm's team was armed with experimental hardware and then tasked to help shipwrecked sailors across the Pacific Ocean. Although they did not reach every disaster in time, their success in driving back opportunistic sharks is remembered to this day.
Introducing the Oceanic Whitetip!
The Oceanic Whitetip stalks the open seas and has been involved in a number of major incidents with shipwreck survivors. Often seen living in a mutualistic relationship with pilot fish, the Oceanic Whitetip and its friends live and die together.
Attack/Protect The Whitetip's pilot fish switch between assisting in attacking prey and protecting the shark.

Wilhelm is a famous American diver who assisted in countless open sea search and rescue operations throughout WWII. With international help from the Russians, his team was armed with modified Russian hardware to help stave off sharks and enemy frogmen.

Long ago, the Earth was in perfect balance. Half land, half sea. Blade the Earth Dragon ruled and protected all creatures in his domain. One day, Blade noticed the seas had begun rising, swallowing the coasts. Suspecting the dragon brothers of the sea, Frost and Flame, he took form as a thresher shark, diving into the sea. Upon finding the brothers, Blade demanded to know why they were intruding his domain. Flame explained their intention to expand the sea, believing they would make better use of area. Battle raged across the reef, with Blade using his agility against the brothers. Despite his speed, he was no match for both. Defeated, Blade retreated to land as the seas continued to rise until the brothers claimed victory. This imbalance between land and sea remains even today, a scar from the dueling dragons.

Viktor is leading the crew on a mission to Siberia! First heading to the Siberian Arms Factory in Tomsk, the team will be picking up some newly developed UPR-17 gyro rifles. Once armed to the teeth, they'll head out to the East Siberian Sea for Operation Meltdown! A mighty Great White known as Icemaw is causing trouble across the region. The UPR-17's hot burning Microjets should make a big impact in the success of the mission! So dive in with the team to assist in the fight against Icemaw!
Introducing the UPR-17 Gyro Rifle!
This Russian-developed semi-automatic rifle fires gyroscopically stabilized Microjets which accelerate and increase in stopping power the further they go.
Skins from the 'Tools vs Teeth' tournament have arrived! Keep an eye out for Icemaw, a Great White with a mighty frozen jaw, and the custom painted Winter's Fury ADS! This event we've brought back the Event Supporter coin, and have released a Meltdown Supporter Bundle! Purchase the Meltdown Supporter Bundle to receive new holiday themed skins, including Icemaw, the Winter's Fury ADS, and more! All skins from this event can alternatively be earned from rewarded Meltdown Event Treasures by playing matchmade games of Depth.
Treasures earned in the Meltdown event will not be tradeable or marketable, and are not sold from the Depth Item Store.
Weapon War
Fight in the Weapon War and help decide the next diver weapon! Over the course of the event play matchmade games and earn points for your desired weapon each round! The winner of the tournament will be the next weapon added to Depth!
Weapons
QBS-06 Rifle - This Chinese assault rifle is based on the Russian APS rifle, however it features several modifications and fires slightly larger darts.
ASM-DT Rifle - This Russian assault rifle was developed in the 90s and features a hybrid design allowing it to fire accurately both above and below the water.
Pepperbox Pistol - The Pepperbox is a multi-barrel pistol which can be modified to fire a ring of spears like a mini Volleyjet.
AAP-8 Pistol - The AAP-8 is a rather unique full-auto pistol which operates underwater. It makes up for its weaker stopping power with a high rate of fire.
LJ-16 Boxcutter - Featuring a 4x4 grid of barrels, this volley gun earned its name for being able to simultaneously shoot a square of sixteen spears.
Sling Spear - Although it is primitive, this rubber sling is still great for fending off sharks on a budget.
Torpedo Launcher - Developed by Aquatekk Industries, this portable Torpedo Launcher was designed for frogmen to attack submarines and small ships.
Flame Launcher - Designed at Impact Labs, the Flame Launcher lobs a specially designed projectile loaded with potassium allowing it to burst into flames underwater.

Dr. Larson and his team at Impact Labs have been hard at work, and are ready to unleash their fearsome Goblin shark! Genetically modified to thrive in shallower waters and given greater strength, this Goblin poses a real threat and is sure to strike fear in the hearts of divers. Celebrations for the end of the Terror Nights are underway once again, so stay alert for when ghouls and goblins attack!
Introducing the Goblin!
The Goblin is best known for its terrifying extendable jaw packed full of needle-like teeth, and its distinct surfboard shaped nose. Although sluggish in nature, the Goblin makes up for this in combat with its intimidating appearance known to incite panic in divers.
Ability: Terrify Strikes fear in the divers, causing them to hallucinate another goblin shark.
The Ghouls & Goblins event is packed full of rewards to earn and things to do! Sink your teeth into a new event treasure unleashing 15 new skins into Depth! Earn event treasures as rewards by playing Depth, or purchase them from the Depth item store.
Ghouls & Goblins brings a new leveling commemorative coin, however this time with a twist! Select levels of Commemorative Coin will reward you with a gravestone which drops upon your death in-game. Gravestones will only be usable during the event.
This event will also feature a skin tournament, Tools vs Teeth! Featuring sharks and diver gear, earn points for your favorite in each match-up by playing games of Depth. The winner of the skin tournament will have a Hadal rarity skin created for it, and runner-up one of Abyssal rarity!
Improving the New Player Experience
With this update we've focused on improving the new player experience in three key ways: improving matchmaking, introducing recommended builds, and reworking how players unlock gameplay content.
To address matchmaking for new players, we've made adjustments to improve the matching algorithm to reduce how often experienced and new players are matched with one another. Wait times may be slightly longer on average with this change, however we feel this better match quality will make Depth a more enjoyable experience for new and experienced players alike.
Recommended Builds are a new way for players to learn to play new species of sharks more effectively. All players will be able to switch to the full evolution view whenever they would like.
We believe that unlocks should be both rewarding and an enjoyable way to explore what Depth has to offer. With the new unlock system, players will complete small challenges to unlock Sharks and Diver Gear. Shark Evolutions and Weapon Upgrades are now all unlocked by default, and all veteran players will get to keep any content they had previously unlocked.
Front End Notifications - Stay Informed!
At the main menu, we've added a new area for displaying messages for improved communication about what is happening with Depth, such as update progress or server maintenance periods.

Parasitic aliens have arrived on a meteor which crashed into the ocean and are taking control of everything they can! Nicknamed the Void, this scourge earned their name for the bizarre and cosmic appearance their hosts take on after being infected. Sharks and divers alike should swim away as fast as they can should they run into any Void terrors!
Depth: Void Event
Complete games of Depth during the Void event to earn Void treasures which unlock new cosmetic skins like the fearsome Void infected Thresher! The Void Treasure is also available for purchase on the Depth Item store for the duration of the event. Alongside the normal Void Treasure, you will also receive a Gold Void Treasure which only contains Bathyal or rarer items every 5 treasure rewards! And as always, earning score in matchmade games of Depth will level the upgradeable commemorative coin!
As well, over the Void Event, earn points for your favorite weapon in the Arms Race! Based on 1st and 2nd place, this single-elimination tournament will determine the next drop Hadal and Abyssal!
Introducting Quests
Quests for Depth have arrived and are making a splash! Receive a new quest everyday and complete them to be rewarded with Quest Treasures! Quest Treasures contain a random item found at the end of matches from Coral to Abyssal, or the exclusive Hadal, the RAM Hammerhead developed by Impact Labs! Featuring a variety of different goals for both sharks and divers you'll want to be sure to check it out!
