It's been a massive week since we announced Descenders Next, the extreme sports sequel to Descenders, alongside a new update for Descenders too!
We're bringing Descenders Next to Gamescom, where you can have an early try of the game and get ahead in the race! Join us in Hall 10.1, Booth A051 for some extreme Descending!

It's MASSIVE NEWS DAY, and we've got two huge headlines to let you know about!
First up: DESCENDERS IS GETTING A NEW FREE UPDATE!
A new set of maps is about to hit your games, and they are bigger, better, fuller (and in some cases much tougher!) than maps you'll have seen before.
Coming your way is Ragesquid Riot, a hardcore map where risks can lead to massive rewards, BC Bike Park by Linus 1005, a multipath map with trails for every skill level and team affiliation, and Red Raven Canyon, another fast-paced sendathon from KamikazzeProds - don't lose control of your bike!!
We hope you enjoy speeding, tricking and dodging your way through each new map - make sure you share any cool videos or screenshots in our Discord.
Our BIG news is that we're counting down the days until DESCENDERS NEXT - Our next adventure in the world of extreme sports!
We knew that you all wanted more Descenders, but it took us a while to decide what exactly that looked like. Then we had an idea: what would the ultimate extreme sports game look like?
We learned a lot from Descenders, and we’ve taken all of that with us into the design of Descenders Next, and we’re pretty excited to show you what we’ve got cooked up.
If you’re as excited as us to come along for the ride, don’t worry – you can play very soon! We’ll be running test sessions in the coming months, where we’ll be looking for folks to come and play the game early. You can sign up at descendersnext.com to be one of the first ever to play, and get news and updates on development as it happens.
Descenders Next is coming in early 2025 to PC and Xbox Game Pass!

5 Years of Descenders!
Hi everyone!
Can you believe it's been 5 years since the full launch of Descenders? And more since we put Descenders in Early Access? Neither can we!
To celebrate, you can grab Descenders for 70% OFF as part of Steam's Replayability Fest!
To keep the celebrations going, we thought we'd go over some pretty cool milestones over the last few years and recap all the cool stuff we've brought to Descenders, and the future of it too... 👀
Over 25 maps added since launch
We haven't been shy in giving you new content since the launch of Descenders, adding over a whopping 25 maps, including some fan favourites such as Stoker, Jump City & more!
We launched Descenders on consoles, Game Pass, and added crossplay
We've managed to bring Descenders to pretty much every platform you can think of! This has included adding Descenders to Game Pass, 4K support on Xbox consoles, and we've even brought it to mobile! Because there are so many of you who were wanting to play with your friends on different platforms, we added crossplay between Xbox & Steam!
Added new customization options
We've added a bunch of customization options to your rider since launch, including snazzy beards, LGBTQ flags for your bike, and a bunch more gear!
WE ADDED A BOUNCY CASTLE!

You MIIIGHT have noticed a cheeky update coming through this morning... WELCOME TO THE MISCHIEF TOUR!
We've popped you a LOVELY update with some new bike parks to check out, and some new missions to grab yourself some new gear!
The team have also been hard at work on some optimizations, so you folks who have been running into issues with long playtimes should be better off now!
In this new MISCHIEF TOUR UPDATE, here's what's new:
THE MISCHIEF TOUR: 8 brand new missions to help you master the SILLY side of Descenders (including a scavenger hunt! Can you find 'em all?)
Snowman's Ball: A new map from BI0S0CK - you might remember jump city! Now take on some pedal-free fun across the snow!
Lost Cause Caves: DogTorque really knocked it out of the park with this new beautifully lit cave system ready for you to explore, just make sure you stay on your wheels and out of the lava!
Optimizations: We've been making Descenders slimmer and faster, so you folks who have been noticing drops after a long playtime should be able to play for longer!

- RageSquid and No More Robots
Patch 1.6.0 is now LIVE! Crossplay, a shiny reward and a lot less stuttering!
Hey everyone! We've popped out a TINY patch for you this morning, though it's a pretty important one, so we figured we'd let you know what's new!
Crossplay with Xbox is back! We know a fair few of you have been missing playing with your friends, so now we've put some fixes in place you can lobby back up together!
Fixed the stuttering happening on some PCs - the team managed to hunt down the cause thanks to your reports and have fixed that right up - if you run into any more problems let us know!
Re-added a certain shiny, glowing reward - if you know, you know! If you complete all your Grand Tour quests now, you'll get a nice surprise!
That's it! A small but mighty patch, perfect to get stuck back in over the weekend!

MOD OF THE YEAR 2021 IS HERE!
Welcome to the THIRD ANNUAL Descenders Mod of the Year Competition!
Once again we're looking to celebrate and reward the best Descenders mods with special prizes. It's been a GREAT year for Descenders, and we hope you've enjoyed playing it as much as we've all enjoyed working on it!
We're looking for the best and most innovative mods of the year. Is that one you've made? Have you played a mod this year that's blown you away? Here's your chance to show us which mods are the best of the best!
Here's how it's going to work this year:
1. Every Descenders mod uploaded to https://descenders.mod.io/ in 2021 and before the end of December 20 will be eligible to win a prize. Check the Modding Guide on how to get involved: https://descenders.mod.io/guides
2. Vote on your favourite mods by giving them the THUMBS UP on mod.io!
3. After December 20th, the Descenders team will pick their favourite mods, using community voting as a guide for which mods you like best.
4. On December 22, we'll announce the 5 best mods of 2021.
The #5 and #4 will receive a Descenders game key, an item of choice and will be included in the MOTY 2021 leaderboard in the lobby.
The top 3 modders will receive a Descenders game key, their respective Bronze, Silver and Gold kit and bike in-game, and will also be included in the MOTY 2021 leaderboard.
The creator of the Best Descenders Mod of 2021 will receive a $100 Steam Gift Card, to spend on whichever games they like over Christmas!
Think you can be the most creative, the most innovative or just deliver an amazing Descenders experience?
You have until the 20th of December!
You can also encourage people to vote on your creation on mod.io - while the decision lies with the devs, it'll definitely help your chances!
