Desktop Dungeons: Rewind - Exploring character classes #1 The Monk
So you love dungeon-based adventuring and playing as different character classes with their own perks and skills? Well good news everybody, Desktop Dungeons: Rewind offers you multiple fun and unique playable folk. Boasting 16 classes, all offering different ways to play the game, and 4 unique monster classes that can be acquired by beating particularly dastardly dungeon-dwelling foes.
We'll be deep diving into each one on the road to launch, kickstarting with the Monk. Let's have a look at what traits and fighting styles a Monk has that can help you pave your path to glory and whatever monk-themed dreams you may dream.
Character Traits:
⚔️ Hand to hand: -2 base damage per level, -30% attack bonus. ⚔️ Discipline: health regen is doubled. ⚔️ Diamond body: 50% physical resistance increased cap.
Unlocking Tier 3 Cathedral, unlocked after the priest.
🗣️🎙️ We interrupt this class explanation to remind you about one of the coolest elements of Desktop Dungeon: Rewind - Regen Fighting. This is one common method of healing within the game, activated by discovering new tiles. But be mindful that it doesn't just up your HP, as it will also heal damaged creatures for their level of health each time a new tile is revealed.
Now back to our Monk friend and the perks they gain while regen fighting:
⚔️Take less damage from physical sources, and out-regens most enemies ⚔️Need to attack more due to Hand to Hand but they're able to... ⚔️Attack, regen, attack, regen...you get the picture.
In short, if you want to focus on regen-style fighting the Monk is the best class to use.
Best Kin for Monks While Human is an option, Orc is the better choice, offsetting the lower base of damage of Hand to Hand with the conversion bonuses

The Steam Next Fest Demo is sticking around for a bit!
Steam Next Fest was a lot of fun for us at QCF Design! Seeing the game in your hands was amazing, and we got enough love to soften even our hard hearts.
So we’re keeping the demo live! It’s staying up on Steam. Get dungeoneering before we change our minds!
We're not exactly sure how long it'll be staying up, but we're putting it at a minimum of two weeks.

We're going live playing Rewind in Steam Next Fest!
With the demo going live as part of Steam Next Fest, we wanted to show some things that are in the full version to get you excited!
There will be a live-stream up 24/7 during the the fest, and we’ll be answering any questions you have at 16:00 CST on the 3rd of October and at 14:00 CST on the 4th while showing off some of the changes in the remaster playing through some of the challenge runs not included in the demo.

It’s happening… Desktop Dungeons: Rewind is in your hands! Partially! The demo will be live with Steam Next Fest.
The Wizard, Fighter, Thief, and Priest classes, along with the Human, Elf, and Dwarf kins are in the demo for you to cause chaos with! Class challenges, puzzles, and your run-of-the-kill goat-infested dungeons are available to try out. What are you waiting for? Go fling some fireballs and murder monsters!
We’ll also be answering questions live on stream while Dislekcia and Delirium play class challenges and Dorian goes through puzzles.
