Steam Scream Fest - Play and chat with the devs and a streamer!
Hi everyone!
We're happy to announce we'll be participating on the Steam Scream Fest and live streaming one new chapter of DESOLATIUM for the first time!
But to make it different, it won't be just us, the devs... the streamer Glitch Kraft will be the one playing to this new demo while they ask and chat with one of us! The scenes will be full of references and news that we will be able to reveal throughout the broadcast.
We will be live streaming this new level on Tuesday 25th, at 6pm CEST. Join us?
We leave you some clues...
Are you eager to see what's hidden between these walls and posters? Some of you who opted for the reward of seeing your name in the game, will have to be very attentive: among some of the graffiti in these scenarios, you will find the name you chose!
See you on tuesday!
Desolatium Devlog - September
Hello cultists! It's already October and that means two things:(late) september devlog and best month of the year!
Desolatium is almost over, but as you know we will keep you posted with everything Soedesco announces! Here’s few things we’ve worked on this past months:
360 PHOTOS – SKY
Yes, 360 photos are real, but not all the elements! We changed almost all of the skies to create a more accurate athmosphere. Some of them kind of remind us to the prologue, don’t they? But just in some chapters, you’ll discover soon!
MOTION GRAPHICS
We needed some extra videos to explain the story. They refere to the past, showing memories or flashbacks. Here’s an example and its storyboard! (We chose one with no spoilers!)
PUZZLES
Yes, we love symbols so you will find many in the game: not only on the walls but also in puzzles!
GHOUL
FIXING BUGS
Once you think the game is finished, bugs say hi… And here’s what we have been focusing on the most. Working to give you the best posible experience! (Also we have more to tell about what we've been working on, but we have to keep quiet!)
And that’s all! Stay tuned because this is our favourite month (Halloween time) and we have a little surprise for you

We would be so grateful if you would also wishlist us on Steam if you haven't already!
Hello cultists! Summer is already over and now it’s time to get back to normal. As you know from last devlog, this has been a crazy summer for us, as many important things happened and changed, and now we can finally tell:
The Dutch Publisher SOEDESCO has bought us! Those who have brought us Kaze and the Wild Mask or Owlboy have seen something special in SUPERLUMEN and have totally acquired us: game and company. So… what about Desolatium?
This will of course imply changes, since from now on it will be SOEDESCO and the great team behind it who will guide us, setting new times and dates for both the development and the publication of Desolatium. And this can only bring good things: now that we are 100% focused on DESOLATIUM, without any extra project and with SOEDESCO in charge, promise (and we will keep it) the best DESOLATIUM for you.
Now that you know what changed these months, let’s move on to the development update!
SUBTITULES
As you suggested, we are adding subtitles to every voiceover. Desolatium will be translated into 25 languages, so big work here!
360 PHOTOS
Some small modifications are still being made in the 360 photos, this is an example, but many more are ready!
PUZZLES
Almost all the puzzles have been designed and are being programmed!
MOTION GRAPHICS + VIDEO
Here’s the storyboard for one of the motion graphics we’re preparing and one video from an important scene we can’t reveal!
And that’s all! Here are us working hard but accompanied by the best ones: H.P. Lovecraft and our protagonists in Desolatium ;)

We would be so grateful if you would also wishlist us on Steam if you haven't already!
For us, this has been probably one of the craziest months we’ve lived. Many important things happened and changed that we’re excited to tell, hope we can do it soon!
About the development of Desolatium, we keep working on the final chapters and polishing things from the rest (this is actually what takes more time).
Here are some graphic material to show:
FIRE SCENE
This location may sounds familiar to you, if you have played the demo. Well… mini spoiler: that wasn’t the only time you’ll be there. Something happened and this is how we managed to change the whole scene adding the fire (it wasn’t very easy tbh)
360 IMAGES
Here is some exclusive material from chapter 6! When Carter gets here, everything starts to make sense... But you will have to find out by yourself!
OBJECTS
Some objects have been designed, here’s one that will become really useful, don’t miss it!
Here’s one of the things I personally enjoy the most: seeing the transformation between a sketch and how it finally is shown up in the game:
And that’s all! We hope we can tell you soon more about the important news, for now we hope you have an amazing summer and enjoy it with family and friends ːsteamhappyː

Summer is already here, so we hope you have plenty of time to discover new games and finally play the ones you have on your library! (Easier said than done ːsteammockingː )
For us, not much is changing this summer, we keep working on the development as we are approaching the final stretch! So here is our monthly update to provide you with inside information on what has been happening in the development of Desolatium:
NEW OBJECTS
We included new objects in some chapters, so we’re back there adding them! Here Christopher is investigating thoroughly…
DIALOGUES
All dialogues are ready! Even the ones from the big final chapter. Sorry for the blurry, but no spoilers are allowed here ;)
ART
One of the things our artist designer enjoys the most, is creating the posters of each chapter. Sometimes it’s really difficult to choose one, we honestly love all the designs se does. Here are the three options for chapter 5, which one would be your choice?
And here is the most important poster, the one from the final chapter! At least a part of it, we don’t want to reveal it yet ;)
360º IMAGES
As you have probably seen in other devlogs, we take 360º photos to generate all the levels. In march we showed you some pics of a shooting in Toledo (close to Madrid, Spain), and here is the result! (Still many things missing, this is only the image edited). Are you able to find where the big glass table with chairs is located in the scene?
CHARACTERS
We finished the characters a while ago, but we still like to show you one new character every month! Here's the Lighthouse Keeper:
We would love to show you more, but we don’t want to reveal everything! You will have to wait until next month for more insights ;)

It's been a year since the release of Desolatium: Prologue! Thank you to everyone who played it and who is waiting for the final game to be launched, we can't wait to show you everything!!
Also thank you to everyone who took their time to leave us a review, this is one of the best ways to support indie games 🙌 If you still haven't played, it's the time! It's free so there are no excuses ;) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1640540/Desolatium_Prologue/
As every month, here is our devlog! A way to bring you closer to the development of Desolatium. March has been great! We have made great progress in the development and we will show you some things to highlight from this past moth:
360 PHOTOS
Some of the scenes were missing, such as the secret Theron Marks Society room. We still hadn’t found the perfect scenario for that location, but we finally did in Toledo, a small town close to Madrid, 4 hours away from our living city.
Fun fact: we finally got to meet Isabel, the only one in our team who works remotely in another city: The one in charge of the Art in Desolatium!
Here are some of the behind the scenes pics! (You will love this scene in the game, specially when you see the transformation)
ART AND DESIGN
We keep working on the detail views of the things you will need to find: notes, objets, clues… Here’s one of them: a drawer with a note and an old book inside. What will they be needed for?
We have also colour-graded and edited more images, like this street:
And added some elements to other images. We needed more chaos so we added some books and blood in this library:
DEMO
As we told you last month, we have been working on a new update of the demo, these are some of the changes you will be able to see:
Idd Yahh wasn’t ready when we released the demo, but she is now! So we have replaced her in the scene:
Here you will be able to control the music and sound effects, one of the things we have been asked for the most!
You will have to play to discover the rest of the improvements, but we will tell you more about it in our next post here in Steam, so stay tuned!!
And that wraps it up! Make sure that you're up to date by following our socials for Desolatium related news! Check out our links here: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Discord
