Destinations Update - June 23, 2016

We've pushed out an update to Destinations (content buildid 1196102):

  • Added rotate 90 degrees left/right on controller bumper buttons for Oculus Rift users
  • Model Editor's import mesh from OBJ now imports materials and textures, similar to FBX import
  • Removed and set better defaults for mesh attributes so mesh import generally doesn't require editing them
  • Misc performance fixes

Turret Singers and More

We've just pushed an update (content buildid 1185077) which includes a new Destination, Turret Singers. Turret Singers is a recreation of an easter egg found halfway through Portal 2. We’ve also included it as example Destination, so you can open it in Destination Workshop Tools and see how it was put together.

In addition, we have updated the Destinations Developer Wiki with two new guides:

Getting Started – Learn the basics of creating a Destination – from creating a floor and a light to adding models and teleport meshes.

Triggers, Animation, and Sound – Recreate the Turret Singers Destination and learn how to use triggers, animations, and sound for your own Destinations.

Plus some UI updates and bug fixes:

<*>In-world UI panels now ignore input when they are not visible
<*>Generating mip-maps for UI panels to reduce artifacts when they are further away
<*>Fixed crash issue for users with some AMD CPUs
