I know, we've been quiet right? Today's update will be a short one shedding some light on some new stuff we're working on. As you can see on the top of this announcement, we're working on a new world map with new stages each of which has a different game objective and board layout.
And here are the new characters you will meet during your journey.
Some of you may be wondering why so few updates, and that's because we're taking fewer but bigger update approach. Every developer has a different working style, and we think this works better for us.
Speaking of update, when is the next update? Maybe in mid-June, but it's not fixed. Sorry for taking a long time guys.

Hey guys,
I suddenly got this urge to share with you guys what we've been working on over the last few weeks. We're experimenting with a bunch of new stuff which will probably be introduced in our next update, the date for which is yet to be set. It may take awhile until that update but we will use every minute of that time to make the game more exciting and polished and make the wait all worthwhile.
Multiple saves
Let's not worry about losing your save now when you play a new character. (Hm..have I already told you about this?)
Battle Log
Which will help you get a better understanding of what on earth is going on. (Look at the texts on the bottom left corner in the image below.)

When you land on one of your friendly minions, you can give it Taunt or raise its level. Of course nothing comes free. It takes Gold.

We're spicing things up. It will return longer and funnier, and of course with more parodies.

We're going to have a meeting next Monday to decide what new cards to add so if you haven't told us your awesome card ideas yet go here and leave a comment (or send an email to master@fakedice.com)
before the end of this week! (March 13th PDT)
And now, here are the stuff we are working on right now.
Multiple save system
Now you have have multiple save slots so you don't have to lose your current save to play as a new character. Looks neat?
The new board designs
Here are some of the new board designs we're considering. We're currently trying to figure out what kind of game modes will go well with these designs. ( Giant boss battle, Race, etc)
You can check out more designs in this video in which I talk about the aforementioned stuff.
Improvements based on the user feedback.
My Deck: Right click to remove a card from the deck, and left click to add a card to the deck.
Campfire -> Card Sellers -> Sellers will not show the cards you already possess.
Updated the guide
I updated the guide so have a look here when you have time. (Added campfire, world map, card equipment etc.) Meanwhile I'm planning to make a beginner's tutorial video (since we don't have a tutorial yet. We're working on it guys!) for those of you having trouble with the game rules.

Do you have a good card idea? Then you don't want to miss this!
Tell us your card ideas and it can be included in the game!
No pressure. Just let your imagination fly. Should it be funny? technical? Doesn't matter! (But if it's funny, technical, and unique, the better!) Should it be a minion card or a spell card? It can be any type of card! Just one thing. Please follow the following format.
Class / Card Name / Cost / Ability / How is this ability triggered?
Here's an example:
Warrior/ / Taunt Giver / 3AP / Give Taunt to your Hero / When it's summoned.
Here's a tip. Please keep the description as short and clear as possible. (If you can't, that's fine too =) We will pick a winner for each class, and implement it in the game. *Please note that we may edit it to a certain extent to make it more fit for the game.
If your idea gets picked, you will get the following prizes.
- You will receive a Dicetiny Steam key.
- Your Steam ID will be mentioned in the game as the inspiration.

Major Update Done! Now What? - The Details of Our Monday Meeting!

Hope you guys enjoyed the recent update! =) For us, we had an important meeting this Monday to decide which direction we should be heading from this point on. We sat down to discuss what we should be focusing on to make DICETINY a complete game.
"I say we bomb them all!..."
So the main topic was what are the essential features we should be working on over the next couple of months to make Dicetiny a complete game (sorry for repeating the same thing over lol) , and here are the features we looked into.
Content/World Map
Gameplay
PvP
Localization
Card History
Save System
Tutorial
We went over them one by one trying to decide which one is of the highest priority.
Content/World Map (more stages)
Although the game needs more stages, majority of us felt it was more important to make the current stages more fun than just keep adding same type of stages.
Gameplay
We all agreed that the current stages are somewhat dull maybe except Ballwood stage where the object is clear (get Shake Spear to kill the enemy hero.) There's no strategy involved for the other stages where the strategy is just replay it until you get lucky. We need something to spice things up and more strategy.
PvP
Some of us felt that PvP was the one thing that would generate the biggest excitement among fans and maybe essential for the success of the game. (I'm sure many of you guys want this too.) Of course, the risk with PvP is it takes time and money.
Localization
Being a card-focused game with tons of text descriptions, we felt that since the game's all in either English or Korean, we are leaving off people from other countries like Russia/Brazil/France etc. Maybe localizing the game into multiple languages will bring somewhat large number of players ultimately contributing to the game's success? If we do decide to do localization for multiple langues, how are we going to do this? We looked into the case of Plague Inc's case: http://translation.ndemiccreations.com/project/plague-inc-evolved
Card History (battle log)
This is something that many of you brought up. Enemy's actions are too fast to see. The game needs a certain kind of card log. We decided this falls into the Content/World Map category, and should be done for the game to be complete.
Save System
A save system that allows the player to try multiple characters at the same time is also something that we hear often from you guys. We decided this falls into the Content/World Map category, and should be done for the game to be complete.
Tutorial
Some of us felt that considering the nature of the game, tutorial was essential before the game releases fully. We considered adding maybe "3~4 initial stages" whose purpose would be to teach the players. We decided this falls into the Content/World Map category, and should be done for the game to be complete.

So in the end, majority of us agreed that it is Gameplay/Variance that we should be focusing on while we also agreed at the same time that we must have Card History/Save System/Tutorial for the game to be complete, and they should be implemented before anything. I will leave you guys with a suggestion from one of our staff just to give you an example.
In order to improve the gameplay we need to...
- Give more variety to the win condition. (Collect/Hunt to win!, Race to the starting space to win!, 1v1, Beat the boss!, etc)
- Give more variety to the board. (A board with just fixed space, A board with random spaces)
- Have more minion ability (Ex.minions that deal damage first etc.)
- Tutorial, Indicate mission objective in the world map, battle log, etc...

Randomized event space.
- Now the position of each event space on the four corners of the board (Starting Space, The Shop, Temple of Bless) is randomized at the start of a game.
Card Storage System added

Board Conditions added
- Board conditions are rules you and your enemy must follow.
- They are not stage-specific and randomly assigned to a stage each time you play.
- There are six conditions as below.
The Wrath of God: A lightening strikes on 1~3 random spaces in the beginning of every turn.
Sticky: All heroes move one space less after rolling the dice.
Greasy: All heroes move one space further after rolling the dice.
Become a Rich: Both heroes start the game with 500 gold.
Recycled Card: Every time a card is used, it returns to its deck.
Thick Fog: You can't use spell cards on spaces with fog. The fog moves randomly every round.
Minion Bribery System
Both enemy and neutral minions can be bribed.
You can now check the bribery probability rate by hovering on a minion (enemy/neutral)
Others
- Improved the HUD.
- Added new cards.
- Improved special effects
- Each Hero's skills adjusted
- Each Hero has a different One Lap Bonus
- Fixed bugs

This is the second part of the preview for the upcoming update, and today we will take a look at new enemy characters, and they are...Wait! Before we get into that, let me just remind you guys of the update schedule and the price change.

He works as an intermediary between the Myst and the outside world. He's been waiting for the right moment to show his bravery and achieve fame, the moment of which hasn't come yet. Just focusing on the menial tasks the guild is giving him, he knows the inner workings of the guild like the back of his hand.
Britney Showy
Race: Elf
Sex: Female
Job: Wizard
The runaway sister of Shina Showy. She enjoys tabletop games in her spare time. She excels in magic arts but her mind was overtaken by the Succubus working for her as her obedient solder.
Leif Showy

Job: Rogue
The runaway brother of Shina Showy. His time spent with human left him poor so he joined the Myst as a bounty hunter.
Helmeted Horror
Race: ??
Sex Male
Job: Warrior
A holy spirit of a knight embodies the armor which protects the King's bedroom. The presence of any intruders awakens him.
T-alek (a character inspired by...guess who!)

Job: Cleric
Hailing from another dimension known as Outer Board, the cleric was summoned by Dead Serious with the power of Dicetiny to stop the heroes and the gang. After failing to adjust to the environment of Middle Board, the cleric got a desk job handling tedious paperwork.
If you're curious about how he came up with all these characters, this is the perfect time to ask our Art Director, Bruce Hong, because I will video interview him soon. So leave you questions below, and we will cover them along with your user name. You can ask him anything, just don't ask him about his political stance. Here's him working diligently.

Now let's take a look at what kind of changes you will see in the upcoming update. Let's go!
World Map
Tada! inspired by the maps from classic games like Super Mario, you can challenge the stages that are currently unlocked in any order you wish as long as they are unlocked, however we're currently considering to make this a linear progression for most of the stages. Some stages are locked at first but clearing stages with a castle will unlock them. The goal of the game is to clear all the stages within a certain number of days given (In this case, 28 days) with each stage costing 1 day if you play it, which means if you die in a stage, that counts as 1 day, and retrying it will cost another 1 day. If you fail to clear all the stages within 28 days, the world is doomed, and will be ravaged by the ruthless force of Dead Serious.
Campfire
Campfire is where you can buy minion/spell cards as well as relics with the GEMs you earned by clearing stages. You can also manage your decks and relics. Entering Campfire costs 1 day so think carefully before you make that decision.
Relics
Relics are passive skills that are triggered if your dice show a certain number. Each relic is assigned with a number, and the relic's skill is activated when that your dice show that number. You can unlock relics by clearing stages, and can equip up to three of them to your hero.
