Replay The 2022 Season As It Unfolds!
It is time to replay the 2022 Season Library! The 2022 (RealTime) library has been uploaded and it contains players and stats through 4/17/22. Users can install this library replay the 2022 season as it unfolds by following these steps:
Play games in the library through to 4/17
On the morning of 4/25 update the stats from Baseball Reference
Play the games in the library through 4/24
On the morning of 5/2 update the stats from Baseball Reference
Play the games in the library through 5/1
Continue this process until the season is over...
NOTE: the instructions above follow a weekly update schedule. However, any interval can be used, and the interval can change from time to time based on your schedule. The only rule is to avoid playing games in the library that are beyond the date of your last update. For example, if you have updated the stats through 5/1 don't play games in the library beyond 5/1.
Instructions on how to update this library as the season unfolds can be found in the Digital Diamond Baseball User Guide (in the 'Advanced Tutorial - Playing the 2022 Season In Real Time' section). Just click on the User Guide link below to access the guide. It is a good idea to backup the library regularly -- especially right before you import stats (just in case you make a mistake with the import). If you have any questions, contact us at support@digitaldiamondbaseball.com.
This release contains the following updates and bug fixes:
Number of outs display added above the teams in the linescore.
Added yellow border around icons on the field that show outs and defensive positioning (e.g., holding the runners). This makes the icons more noticeable.
Added a new game play speed called Lightning. This is a very fast speed, and even faster if dice rolls are not displayed. If you set your play speed to Lightning, sound will be disabled and outcome highlighting will not be shown. Sound and outcome highlighting will be available on all other game speeds. Also increased the speed a little bit for other speed settings.
Added career L/R splits and career postseason stats (yearly and total) to the player popup.
Fixed an issue with scrollbars being drawn on top of popups and dialogs.
Fixed a display issue with the About Box when base font is set to a large value.
Updated the 1979 library to correct an issue with the TEX park layout.
Fixed typos in some play by play calls.
Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented contact sounds from playing.

Tips On Screen Resolution When Playing Games
Digital Diamond Baseball supports a wide variety of screen resolutions, but the best support is for resolutions from 1280x800 up to 1920x1200. Here are some tips to taking full advantage of the game's support for different screen resolutions when playing games:
The Base Font Size option located in the User Interface Option Group is used to change the font size of all text displayed on the game screens except for the Play Ball Page. This option will not have any impact on the Play Ball Page. The Play Ball Page screen elements are controlled using Digital Diamond Baseball's auto scaling feature described next.
The Auto Scaling option located in the User Interface Option Group is used to control the appearance of the Play Ball Page. When enabled, Digital Diamond Baseball will scale the components on the Play Ball Page based on your current screen resolution. NOTE: this feature works best if you have Windows Display Settings set to 100%. In addition, you need to either restart Digital Diamond Baseball or right-click on the game screen and select "Reload Page" whenever you change your computer's screen resolution. This will allow the auto scaling feature to adjust to the new resolution.
There are also several options that control the size of the screen elements on the Play Ball Page. These options are available to you during a game by selecting Menu->Options.
NOTE: If you generally have trouble reading small fonts on the computer, your best option is to reduce your computer's resolution. By definition, higher resolutions make fonts and other screen elements smaller. The easiest and most effective way to make your screen easier to read is to reduce your resolution.
10.0.4 - Minor Patch
This patch contains the following updates and bug fixes:
Updated the Play Ball Page to use a slightly larger font for the linescore and players in the lineup.
Added support for the 2022 Ohtani DH Rule. This rule allows the pitcher to also be the designated hitter. In addition, if the pitcher is replaced on the mound, they can still act as the DH. The option can be enabled in the Alternate Rules Option Group. The 2022 Real-Time Replay library will have this option enabled.
Updates were made to the Real Time Import feature. This is the feature that will be used to update the 2022 season as it unfolds. These changes make the import more efficient and accurate.
Updated the Bench Coach so that the team and batters are auto populated to match the game situation.
Minor corrections to some game summaries.
Minor corrections to the HR special event text
Minor corrections to the day view of the calendar.
Replay the 2022 Season as it Unfolds
As we have done in the past, we will be supporting the playing of the current season as it unfolds. There is a video tutorial in the user guide explaining the process. The 2022 library will be released on 4/18 and will allow you to simulate the games through 4/17. You can then replay games and update real life stats each week for the rest of the season. Your replay will always be one week behind real life. If you are interested, check out the "Advanced Tutorial - Playing the 2022 Season In Real Time" section in the user guide.
This patch contains following updates and bug fixes:
Clicking on the logos on the Play Ball Page now show that teams lineup, rather than toggling between lineups.
The Auto Scaling Option is now a global option. This means that when you set it will be set across all of your libraries.
Minor adjustments were made to the Play Ball Page linescore so that the team names are a bit larger and easier to read.
Added team favorite icons to favorite teams listed on the Organization Page.
The player stats detail popup that displays when clicking on a player in the lineup no longer disappears when play by play is updated. The popup will only be hidden when a human manager executes an action (e.g., pitch, swing), it will not hide as a play unfolds.
Fixed a freeze that happens when the user is entering the dice rolls manually and does not enter a valid number.
Fixed a bug that caused the Runs, Hits and Errors from displaying in the linescore of boxscore views that are displayed during a game.
Fixed some formatting issues with the favorite icon shown next to teams in a drop down select box.
