Digital Diamond Baseball V10

10.1.7 Has Been Released!

This release contains the following new updates and bug fixes:

  • Major update to the scorecard. Specifically: fielding positions are now shown on the scorecard; a dark line is drawn at the top of an at bat if there was a pitching change during that at bat (you can hover the result for that at bat to see who was pitching); and stolen bases, caught stealing, runs scored, and and other outs on the base path now include the batter that was up at the time the event took place. Please try and finish any in-progress games before updating to this version or the scorecard for the in-progress game may end up being incomplete after the game ends.
  • The Team Batting and Pitching reports now show team batting AVE/OBP/SLG and team pitching ERA/WHIP/OBP. These values are shown in the header for the combined, vsL, and vsR tables.
  • Corrected the opening day rosters for the 1977 library.
  • Fixed an issue with the hit and error command not allowing the user to override the default runner advancement.

V10.1.6 Released

This update contains the following updates and bug fixes:

  • Added the ability to specify which runner is the second out on a line drive double play (if no runner is specified the lead runner is out).
  • Added the ability to specify who makes the putout on a fielder’s choice bunt, or the second putout on a double play bunt.
  • Added a new error command (located in the rare commands table) that allows you to enter an error and specify the runner advancement for each runner as well as the base occupied by the batter after the error.
  • Added the ability to include spaces in your commands to make them easier to read. For example, 1BR11R30 can be written as 1B R11 R30.
  • The pitcher's name in the lineup is now displayed using italics when they become tired.
  • The current half-inning is now highlighted with red font in the linescore. This makes it easier to see what team is up.
  • Fixed a bug with sorting ERA in reports.

Please be sure to checkout the latest Board Game Command document. You can find the most recent version by clicking on the Menu button during a game. A copy of the latest document is also located in your DigitalDiamondDataFilesV10 folder. Contact customer support if you have any questions about the command changes, or you have suggestions or bugs to report.

10.1.5 Released!

This version contains the following updates and bug fixes:

  • The hit command (located in the rare commands table) now allows the fielder to be an infielder on a single, and errors on a single can also take place in the infield.
  • The foulout command now allows the fielder to also be 2B, SS, LF, and RF.
  • Corrected few typos in the game summaries.

V10.1.4 Released

This release contains the following bug fixes and new features:

  • The “Ground out” command now allows fielder’s choice plays where nobody is out (e.g., throw goes home, runner safe at the plate, batter safe at first - fielder’s choice).
  • The hit command (located in the rare commands table) now allows you to specify the fielder. The fielders are currently still limited to 7, 8, and 9.
  • Added the PICKC command for pickoff attempts by the catcher.
  • Fixed a bug where unassisted groundouts did not result in an out.
  • Undo now works for exhibition games.
  • Fixed crash that happened when importing older seasons using the Lahman import.

Please refer to the Board Game Companion Commands Document for more details. The document can be accessed via the Menu Button during a game, and is also in the DigitalDiamondDataFilesV10 folder.

Minor Patch for Version 10.1.3

The following fixes are included in this patch (note the application version number remained the same):

  • Updated the fly ball command so that any runner can be out (not just the lead runner). This can be done by placing an "X" after any of the runners. For example, the command F9R3R2XR1 will result in the runner on third safely advancing home, the runner on second getting thrown out at third, and the runner on first advancing to second.
  • Fixed an error with the SQZD command.
  • Fixed a bug with the recording of errors. They were not always displayed correctly in the extended boxscore.

A copy of the updated Board Game Companion Cheat Sheet can be found in the DigitalDiamondDataFilesV10 folder and also via the Menu located on the Play Ball Page.

Enjoy!

V10.1.2 Released

This release contains the following new features, updates, and bug fixes:

  • NEW FEATURE: Added "So Far Today" stats to the lineup panel. If you select this option the batter's and/or pitcher's current stats so far in the game will be displayed below the player's picture in the lineup. To enable this new feature you can go to the in-game options and select "SoFarToday" for one of the "Batter Lineup Stat" or "Pitcher Lineup Stat" options.
  • NEW FEATURE: Added the ability to mark game summaries as Rare, Uncommon, and Common. This allows some of the more interesting summaries to appear less often, and the every day ordinary summaries to happen more often.
  • UPDATE: New game summaries were added and existing ones were changed to support the new rare/uncommon/common property.
  • BUGFIX: The "View Pitching Staff" dialog that is available when picking starting pitchers now shows the correct starting pitcher usage.
  • BUGFIX: Fixed a bug that caused the CM to use a pitcher as the DH when all other players have exceeded 100% playing time.
  • BUGFIX: Reduced the number of infield line drive outs. This was done by changing the default value for the Advanced->Contact Options that control the frequency of infield ground ball, line drive, and popups outs. If you have already edited this option, your custom value will not be overridden.

V10.1.1 - Minor Update

This release contains the following updates:

  • Improved the performance of the new auto logo search feature.
  • Remove the requirement that the game be restarted when the auto logo search option is changed.
  • The auto logo search now uses team tag mapping. This means that you can have a team in your library with a tag of STL -- for example -- and the system will map that to a logo file that uses STL or SLN in its filename.

V10.1.0 - New Feature

The following release contains a new auto logo search option. When enabled, the system will ignore the logo file specified in the team properties, and will search for a logo based on the team's tag and year. For example, if you are playing the 1998 season and you have a logo named ARI_1998.png, the ARI_1998.png logo will be used for ARI automatically. If you want a logo to be used across a range of years you can include the year range in the filename. For example, a logo named ARI_1998_2006.png will used for the yers 1998-2006. If you want a logo to be used for a specific year only, you can include just one year in the filename (e.g., ARI_2001.png). Finally, you can have a default logo (e.g., ARI.png) that will be used if a match is not found based on year. This feature works for both png and jpg files. You must enable auto logo search in the new Logos Option Group in order to get it to work. For more details, check out the new video on this feature in the Getting Started section of the user guide.

Version 10.0.9 - Minor Update

This release contains the following updates and bug fixes:

  • Added a new hot key. When the space bar is hit the lineup player detail popup for the player currently at bat will be displayed. If a player's lineup detail popup is currently visible pressing the space bar will hide the popup. This is a VERY useful key because it allows you to quickly take a look at the current batter's detailed stats and then close the popup, all by just hitting the space bar. The hot key works when watching a game as well.
  • Team batting average and earned run average are now displayed in the boxscore.
  • The bench/pen dialog now has starting and relief usage values displayed on the bullpen dialog table.
  • Adjusted the aspect ratio for the two player pictures drawn on the field.
  • Removed the leading 0 from the display of AVE, OBP, SLG, and OPS across the entire application.
  • Fixed a bug with the way win percentage was calculated in the Career Team Standings Report.
  • Fixed an error when updating an encyclopedia and there is a team with a single quote in their name.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented the pitcher from getting highlighted when a ball is hit to them.
  • Fixed an error with the play by play when a catcher makes an error.
