To celebrate the game's anniversary, we're kicking Valentines Day back into action! And for those who have already completed the event last year (or purchased the DLC pass), we've got something VERY SPECIAL for everyone! A brand new EVENT CHAPTER is here!
We've also fixed up a few bugs and improved general consistency, so we hope you enjoy the update and everything it brings!
Chapter 2 Rebalance
Water physics for all characters affected by it have been GREATLY overhauled! - Jadon, Giga, and Madrillda now bounce substantially less underwater - Paper Jadon bounces as much as the previous three originally did rather than at his usual intensity - Underwater top speeds for Jadon, Giga, and Madrillda have doubled from 2 to 4 - Paper Jadon's underwater top speed is now 5
The aim of this "rebalance" was to make chapter 2 less tedious on repeat playthroughs while retaining the odd sense of floatiness present in its original design. All characters affected by water still have halved gravity, but their horizontal speed has been increased to allow for greater control and faster clear times.
Full-Game Hotfix
- Fixed Mikenze's ending dialogue being frozen - Charles no longer removes your current outfit when crushing you - Changed unlocking the outfit screen such that Paper and Robot Jadon are available immediately, rather than after beating a single chapter as them - Fixed a single-tile softlock in chapter 3
Chapter 3 day one hotfix
- Fixed chapter 2's bosses not using their new artwork - Fixed Paper Jadon and Robot Jadon not being available in chapter 3
Chapter 3 Release
After a long delay to upgrade all previous chapters and overhaul the game, chapter 3 has finally been released to the public!
CHAPTER 3
Take to the skies with Team Hero through the brand new third chapter of Dimension Quest Pinball and make use of cannons and a brand new shoot 'em up style of gameplay to fly higher than ever! Bigger boards than before, more elevation than before, mid-boss cutscenes... And beyond that, we've got another feature!
CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION
A new "Special" screen has been added to the game, and with it character outfits! Unlock more either through hidden passwords or through getting medals for each character! Mix and match outfits to personalize your experience to your satisfaction. Cheat codes have also been added... But you'll have to do some digging online to find them!
NEW ARTWORK
The index, pause menu, and character select menu have received entirely unique pieces of artwork for each and every character and item!
QOL Features
With the release of chapter 3, all previous chapters have been updated with cleaner code and smoother mechanics. The camera scrolls on longer boards instead of snapping, flippers are semi-solid, and dozens of bugs have been patched!
Character Unlock Adjustments
Fixed not being unable to unlock Paper Jadon and Robot Jadon
Overhauled how character progression works. You need to beat at least chapter 1 as Jadon to play as any DLC character, and to play as characters in unlocked chapters you have to beat all previous chapters as them.
For example, if you'd beaten chapter 1 as Jadon you'd originally be able to play chapter 2 as Madrillda, Casey, or Giga immediately. After this update, you'll have to play chapter 1 as them first. This is to prevent being able to rapidly unlock characters like Robot Jadon or the planned fourth story character by immediately playing the last chapter as the newest story character, and to preserve the story for the DLC characters.
Bug Fixing
Fixed a bug with the locking system on Attack Time mode. Chapter 1 will no longer lock itself if you switch to and from Attack Time mode.
Bug Squashing!
Fixed the valentines event being unplayable and the chapter menu scrolling while scrolling through the main menu.
Adjusted Attack Time lock settings
The chapters will now be unavailable for Attack Time Mode if you haven't beaten them previously.
Minor Patch
Fixed a bug in which the high score screen for the Attack Time mode wouldn't rotate properly, forcing the player to reload the game in order to see their score if they've started a level or opened the index.
