Small bug fix on the titlescreen. When exiting the Controls menu using the escape key, the Settings menu will now restore properly.
Discolored 2 Teasers (small update)
Small update pushed out today linking Discolored 2 on the main menu and replaces some graphics in the end scene teasing Discolored 2.
Discolored - Episode 2 official announcement!
Hi everyone,
Hope you are well! Discolored - Episode 2 is officially announced! It took a bit longer to get everything ready (typical of game development) but finally I can start showing off what to expect in Episode 2!
And now for a few teasers of what to expect from Episode 2!
Check out the game's Steam page (link above) where you can view the trailer and screenshots and if you like what you see it would really help if you could wishlist the game (please). :) Steam keeps track of how quickly and how many wishlists a game gets and if the numbers are high enough it will show the game to more people that browse Steam. In turn hopefully that will lead to the game doing well and I can continue to expand the world of Discolored.
This game will build out the story more and you will run into a couple of characters that can help or harm you in your quest to restore the missing colors. It will play mostly the same as Episode 1 with reality-bending puzzles, an atmospheric soundtrack, and a striking color palette. But there will also be more intense moments where you have to think on your feet because in this episode the evil organization that has stolen all the colors are trying to stop you from bringing them back.

Release date?
Right now I can't give a firm release date on when Episode 2 will be completed. I want to make this game much longer than the first episode. If I had to give a timeframe it might be another year and a half before Episode 2 is complete. But it's game dev, so it could be even be longer. But I'm really excited about the ideas I have for this one so I won't be giving up on it and I'll do everything I can to make it best game it can possibly be!
Thank you, Jason
P.S. I'd love to hear what you think based on what you see on the Steam page. Feel free to reply to this thread to share your thoughts!
Patch for controllers
Update that addresses some bugs people were having using controllers.
Fixes to occasional lag
This update fixes the lag that sometimes occurred when picking up items. It still might show up in a couple of areas, but for the most part should be a lot better than it was.
Improvements for speedrunners
When the Speedrun Skips option is checked in the Settings menu the game will skip auto-saving when picking up items in the game. This is to avoid any lag that might occur during an auto-save when picking up items. The game will still auto-save at the beginning of a level with this option checked.
Saving the game manually still works as it previously did.
Update to fix cursor and input issues some players were having
A patch was just released updating the Unity engine version along with some plugins to address cursor and input issues reported by some players.
Point-and-Click mode, Hints, Highlights, and support for more resolutions
Hi everyone,
Hope you are all doing well. A quality of life update has just been uploaded. It includes the following:
Point and click mode
A new Point and Click mode is available that allows you to navigate in the classic first-person adventure style. You still have the option to navigate in the default style, Free Roam, using WASD keys to move around if you prefer. These movement methods can be changed at anytime in the game in the Settings menu.
No more Letterbox
For those that have monitors at aspect ratios other than 16:9, the letterbox has been removed so you can enjoy the game without the black bars. Most ultra widescreen monitors should benefit from this as well. :)
Object Highlights
A Highlight mode has been added that highlights objects you can interact with as you hover over them. There is an option to disable this in the Settings menu if desired.
Hints
There are also more detailed hints that can be accessed through the Pause menu. A different hint will show depending on where you are in the game.
Hope you enjoy and please let me know if you run into any issues!
Thanks, Jason
Minor bug fix for high end monitors
Discolored has been updated with a fix for those playing with a high-end monitor and were experiencing stuttering issues while looking up and down. This should be vastly improved if not completely fixed. For best results please make sure Vsync is enabled. You may have to restart Steam to get the update. If anyone runs into any issues with this update please let me know.
Thanks! Jason
