Save/Load Game Features

Hi all,

Next version coming out shortly will finally include the ability to load and save progress through the game. Discrepant has a number of opportunities for swift and violent death, sometimes with little warning, and although the game is designed to be played again and again from the start, sudden death ain't always welcome!

The game works around a time limitation scenario. You have 1 hour to complete each chapter. Literally. However, you will initially find yourself exploring, distracted, and challenged, and find your time runs out rather smartly. The next time you instantiate, you can shortcut the previous time wasting and move quickly through the mandatory steps to get ahead.

For this reaosn we will likely never enable instant save/load - although we have that working to some degree, and will stick to the initial plan, checkpointing.

Of course, keen to get feedback on this during open Early Access!

Incendio

Alpha 0.30 Released

A new update patch has been applied to the build , which includes some location enhancements and a dozen or so fixes and tweaks. There is still an issue with some inventory items being lost when teleporting from the TR, but this should be resolved in the next patch, and hopefully won't make too much of a deal for game play testing.

The level of difficulty has been reduced a little as well, as some are finding the initial puzzles pretty challenging.

Alpha 0.22 Released

Alpha testers!

A small patch has just been released which deals with some minor issues with flashlight light pattern profiles, as well as the Hi beam flashlight having the incorrect rotation in the hand.

Testing hits Milestone 2 !

Hi all. Just another update. Testing has finally moved into another gear, with the next circle of testers being invited to participate in the Alpha.

Early direct feedback has been overwhelming positive, more than expected! Wow, thanks! Now we want the game concept to get close scrutiny please. It's complicated and hopefully compelling plot, and the clues unfold the slowly, just enough to keep you wondering.

But some of the challenges might be too hard, others too easy, and balance is everything. If you think you have what it takes to weigh in on the matter, let me know, and we can add you to the "pre" early access round.

First Beta Test key released.

A small milestone today! Released our first beta test key to steam community member today to check the build works and to kick off the testing phase.

One we are happy that the gameplay is good.. we will move to Early Access and make the game available to the community.
