We hope you enjoyed the recent Developer Update video! With our next content update releasing a little later this week, it’s about time to dig into patch notes.
Not only will we be returning to a familiar Realm for a new adventure in a new light, but we've also got a stunning collaboration coming to the game and a bunch of quality-of-life improvements that draw upon all-important player feedback.
Disney Dreamlight Valley’s “Jungle Getaway” Update arrives on October 9, 2024, so check out all the details below:
NEW CONTENT (AVAILABLE TO ALL PLAYERS*):
Return to Disney’s The Lion King Realm and experience the Realm in a new light with a day and night cycle, new quests, and new friends. Speaking of...
Two new characters! Embrace equal parts relaxation and antics as Timon and Pumbaa from Disney’s The Lion King arrive in the Valley, alongside new Friendship Quests and unique new items.
A new Star Path! Turn your Valley into a music festival with The Night Show Star Path, featuring furniture that’ll literally help you set the stage, a Rockstar Turtle animal companion, as well as clothing inspired by Disney Villains, Disney Princess, and rock music.
Dress to impress! Dig into an exciting collaboration with Loungefly, in which recreations of Loungefly’s statement-making backpacks will arrive in the game across the Star Path, Premium Shop and social media. Keep an eye out for more details in the launch day blog!
Prepare your pumpkins! The Trick or Treat in-game event returns to the Valley from October 23 to 31, featuring a brand new reward!
Weekly rotations to look forward to! Keep an eye out for new optional items in the Premium Shop (alongside some returning favorites), as well as new, weekly DreamSnaps challenges and rewards.
New shipment alert! Scrooge McDuck’s Store has received a new batch of goods for sale, including additional Realm decor!
Adjusted available Moonstone packs to introduce a new option that includes both Moonstones and a seasonal Valley inspired cosmetic item. This pack will be offered for a limited time and different seasonal cosmetic items may be offered with future updates.
* Please note: Disney Dreamlight Valley Arcade Edition does not include seasonal Star Paths or the Premium Shop.
IMPROVEMENTS (AVAILABLE TO ALL PLAYERS):
CONTROLS:
Added a toggle to the Settings > Controls menu to select between two different camera control methods when using a gamepad in Edit Mode. Players will be able to select between an option that’s akin to the game’s original, free-flowing control style, or a new hybrid approach that locks the cursor to the center of the screen, while also giving the ability to move it freely by holding a button.
Please note: This control methods selection will apply to outdoor areas. Edit Mode while in the Player House will default to the original control style.
Added a toggle to the Settings > Controls menu to select between two different sprinting control methods when using a gamepad, allowing players to revert to the previous button mapping or use the updated button mapping (Left Bumper) introduced last update.
Added a toggle to the Settings > Gameplay menu to enable a “Tap to Sprint” control option, allowing players to start and stop sprinting at the press of a button without needing to hold it.
Added full support for wireless controllers on Steam without requiring Steam Input to be enabled. If you have not previously adjusted this option, the game will now default to "Built-In" support (our recommendation) and can be adjusted as needed in the Settings > Controls menu.
SCROOGE MCDUCK’S STORE:
Scrooge’s McDuck’s Store will now display furniture items in place of empty clothing mannequins, including in the window displays.
DREAMSNAPS & PHOTO MODE:
Added a “skip” button to the DreamSnaps voting screen, allowing players to skip up to 10 votes per day.
Added the ability for avatars to hold hand accessories (i.e. umbrellas) and Royal Tools while in Photo Mode.
PREMIUM SHOP:
Added a new “Recommended” section to the Premium Shop, which will feature four additional items or bundles each week. The contents of this section will differ from player to player, based on their Premium Shop interests.
OTHER:
Added the ability to equip wearable wings as a Glider in the Wardrobe. All wings currently available in the game will be equipable this way, replacing the “surfing” Glider animation with a fluttering animation more befitting of wings.
Added the ability to track your progress on individual Dreamlight Duties and Star Path Duties, as well as the collection of materials for crafting recipes via the on-screen Quest Tracker.
Various UI improvements were made to the Star Path menu.

Tantalize your taste buds at Tiana’s Palace!
Originally announced in our 2023 Showcase Stream, Tiana finally makes her way to Disney Dreamlight Valley! But, before you can get cooking, you’ll need to do some questing in the Glade of Trust first…
There, you’ll find a mysterious cookbook – something you should ask the Valley’s ‘littlest chef’ about! Through the magic of cooking, sharing memories, and of course, a little bit of Dreamlight, Tiana will join your Valley – bringing with her not only new quests and friendship rewards, but her restaurant, Tiana’s Palace, alongside plenty of flavorful recipes for you to cook up and share with your Villagers!
Of course – that’s not arriving with the Valley’s latest Disney Princess! Tiana is dabbling in takeout dining and will sell a selection of pre-made meals at her Meal Stall – the perfect place to chow down for any Valley Hero on the go.
Be the Bee’s Knees with new Star Path fashions!
Bring the roaring twenties style n' swing to your Valley with the ‘Dapper Delights’ Star Path! Expect to cook up fanciful meals and spend time with Tiana to complete new duties to claim ‘Lily pad Tokens’ that can be redeemed for flapper-fashions, art nouveau furniture – and even a dapper look for Donald Duck.

Just in time for World Princess Week (Aug 25th-31st) – add some seaside splendor to your Valley with a new Premium Shop Bundle! You’re cordially invited to tap into your inner Disney Prince or Princess with exclusive royal fashions and hairstyles - Ariel also joins in on the dress up fun with a Dream Style inspired by her classic pink gown from Disney’s The Little Mermaid.

Experience the Final Act of Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time!
It’s time to return to Eternity Isle as the story continues, and concludes, in the Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion pass! The clock is ticking in Act III – “Treasures of Time” – and it’s going to take plenty of ingenuity and imagination to foil Jafar’s plans for good.
If you’re just joining us on your Eternity Isle adventures, or you need a recap – we’ve got you covered. The Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion pass opens a whole new world to play in filled with brand new quests, Villagers, features, and even a new tool – the Royal Hourglass. All set in a mysterious, time-forgotten land, its epic journey rolls out in three acts – the final act arriving TODAY!
Treasures of Time
Our story left off with a Jafar stealing the Spark of Imagination – causing the sky to break… again. The appearance of these sky rifts not only threatens Eternity Isle, but your Villagers, as well...
It’ll be a race against time to turn back the effects of Jafar’s schemes – but you won’t be alone. Your Eternity Isle companions will aid you with their own imaginative ideas, helping you to finally enter Jafar’s Palace. With plenty of puzzles and surprises inside, it’s up to you to uncover the rest of the story – and a fitting end to all of Jafar’s machinations.
A surprising new friend…
Of course, Disney Dreamlight Valley is a home to heroes and villains alike, and it won’t be long until the help of a certain royal vizier is needed. After the events of “Treasures of Time”, Jafar joins your Valley as a companion with his own friendship quests, rewards, and charismatic charms.
Scramblecoin enthusiasts also add more magic to their boards with a new Jafar figurine – his tendency towards the unpredictable eking through with a playstyle that changes every turn it’s on the board.
We’re so excited to see you explore and experience all that our “Dapper Delights” Update and Act III of the Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time expansion pass have to offer! Make sure to connect with us on our official social media accounts below and tag us in your in-game photos!

Valley Vignette: What’s Next for Disney Dreamlight Valley
Welcome Valley Villagers! I’m Joshua Labelle, the Creative Director of Disney Dreamlight Valley.
I’m delighted to celebrate almost two years of living magically with you, and to talk about some of what the future has in store for the Valley.
Thank You for Two Years of Living Magically!
Since we launched Disney Dreamlight Valley, we have added a ton of exciting content for you to enjoy. In 2024 so far, we’ve introduced two free Realms and five new free characters, alongside an expansion pass that added even more characters, quests, furniture, and clothing. We’ve also made highly requested improvements to Scrooge McDuck’s Store, Furniture Mode, and DreamSnaps.
Today, we will unveil a bit more of what 2024 has in store, while reaffirming our dedication to listening to your feedback and making continual improvements to the game.
The End of One Roadmap is Just the Start of Another!
First hinted at in our last roadmap, we’re so excited to bring Tiana to the Valley in our next free content update this August, alongside Tiana’s Palace, new outdoor décor, and a Star Path that will bring a touch of 1920’s class to your village.
Alongside the addition of Tiana, our expansion pass – Disney Dreamlight Valley: A Rift in Time – will also come to an epic close as part of this next update. You’ll venture deep into Jafar’s palace to put a stop to his schemes, alongside a few more exciting surprises. We’ll have more to share about this exciting update in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
As we approach the end of our current roadmap, we know you’re eager to hear more about the future of the game. We invite you to check out our roadmap for the rest of 2024 below!
Our October update will be smaller in scope and shorter, with a focus on fixes and quality of life improvements to make your game experience smoother and more enjoyable as we ramp up to a bigger update later in the year. But that doesn’t mean the update won’t have some exciting surprises and new content as well!
We’re excited to announce that this update will also bring a beloved duo to the game: Timon and Pumbaa from Disney’s The Lion King! Return to The Lion King Realm to find new surprises and bring the pair back to your village. With a little aid from the Forgotten, you’ll help Timon and Pumbaa face down an invasion of Night Mites, a nasty new problem connected to Night Thorns and the Forgetting.
Later in the year, we’ll bring you another exciting Showcase, where we’ll reveal some big surprises still to come in 2024 (hopefully the teaser in the roadmap will tide you over!), alongside information about our 2025 roadmap.
Our Commitments to You About the Future of the Game
Without spoiling too much about the future, we wanted to outline a few commitments that we plan to keep to you, our players, moving forward.
A Valley That Evolves Around You
Last year, we promised to keep delivering free content updates that add new characters, Realms, clothing, furniture, and more surprises. That promise is as important today as it was then, especially when we look at new Villagers.
Recent surveys have played an important role by providing us insight into what you’d like to see in Disney Dreamlight Valley and 2025 is already shaping up to be a year full of exciting surprises.
Between the current roadmap and the surprises still to come in our Showcase, there’s a lot to be excited about as Disney Dreamlight Valley continues to grow!
Using Your Feedback to Constantly Improve
Beyond growing the game with new content, we’re also focused on listening to your hopes and dreams about existing features and how they can be improved. From decorating to organizing your wardrobe and furniture to improving Photo Mode, we’re going to dedicate more time in the next year to making the features you know and love even better.
Scrooge McDuck's Store is a great example of this commitment. We have heard so much about the importance of this feature to your daily routines. We have improved the algorithm and layout to help you see more unique furniture, while also providing more items in the store with recent updates. We’re excited to continue providing improvements and new items – perhaps even some new clothing – to the store in future updates.
For the rest of 2024, we will have a strong focus on delivering more highly requested improvements like this.
For instance, look out for big improvements to our Furniture and Wardrobe menus in our next update. The update will include some of our most highly requested features to help you better sort through and manage your items – do you have any guesses?
We’ve also heard that your Valleys are getting a little, uh, crowded! We’re working on new, free features that will help to give you much more space and freedom to decorate.
We sincerely thank you for your patience as we listen to your feedback and work to make the game a better experience.
Giving You More Ways to Play Together… Or Keep Your Cozy Solo Experience
Some Disney Dreamlight Valley players love adventuring to other Villages, working together with friends to complete goals, and sharing their creativity with each other. Others come to the Valley for a cozy solo experience. No matter which way you prefer to play, we want to make you feel welcomed and rewarded as part of the community.
Coming in the next update, cross-platform multiplayer will arrive for PlayStation consoles. This means PlayStation users will be able to play with friends on other platforms, visit their villages, share Touch of Magic designs, and engage in DreamSnaps challenges. Watch out for cross-save on PlayStation consoles to be added later this year!
In 2025, we will be adding even more ways to play together. But don't worry if you prefer playing solo – these new features will still support you and be just as rewarding.
In Closing…
It’s an honor to work with the immensely talented team behind Disney Dreamlight Valley. We’re not just game developers – first and foremost, we’re superfans of the game, the genre, and Disney.
Our entire team is just as excited as you for every new character, clothing, and furniture, inspired by a lifelong love of Disney and Pixar stories and trips to Disney Parks.
As for me, I was that kid who knew every single line of Disney’s Aladdin by heart, wore out my VHS of The Lion King, and would try to find evidence of my Woody and Buzz Lightyear toys moving around my room when I wasn’t looking.
I’m still that kid at heart, and I hope that our game brings out that kid in you, whether it's through the magic of Disney or achieving peak life-sim coziness.
Each update, we eagerly look forward to your reactions, laugh at your memes and videos, and look for ways to improve the game based on your feedback. We can’t wait to share another year of living magically with all of you.
Stay tuned next week for a preview of our next update and be sure to watch out for our Showcase later this year to find out more about all of the exciting surprises we’ve got in store.
See you in the Valley!

A new Realm door opens today in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s “The Lucky Dragon” update – now LIVE on all platforms! Gather your Dreamlight, eat a hearty helping of Mushu’s Congee, and get ready to welcome the courageous Mulan and charismatic Mushu to your Valley – alongside a variety of other exciting content additions.
The Mulan Realm awaits!
Embark on your next adventure with a trip to the Dream Castle and through the latest door to unlock – leading you into the Mulan Realm! Arriving in a training camp that has seen better days, under Mushu’s guidance, you’ll dress the part of a recruit and start working out both your muscles and magic by tidying things up.
Your next task may be the most difficult… waking up Mulan! Once up, she’ll test your strength, endurance, and patience in the training grounds – hopefully you and your Royal Tools will be up to the task!
Once you’ve built them a home in your Valley (something just a little bit nicer than the training camp tents), each new Villager will arrive with their individual friendship questlines and exciting rewards. Mushu has plenty of Guardian business to attend to – but he’ll need your help in setting up his Dragon Temple first. Mulan, on the other hand, discovers a core flaw in your Valley – a significant lack of tea! Through her friendship questline, you can set up a Tea Stall where you will obtain new recipe ingredients.
Friends aren’t the only arrivals from the Mulan Realm to your Valley either – find new Magnolia Tree decorations in the Landscaping Menu!
Majesty and Magnolias Star Path
Showcased in an earlier update teaser, you can experience the beauty of magnolias and unlock a variety of Mulan-inspired items and accessories in this season’s Star Path!
Colorful clothing and customization options await you from a Hanfu top and bottom set to Plum Blossom Makeup and elegant new hairstyles. In the mood to decorate? The Star Path has you covered with interior and exterior furnishing options like a new Mulan Crafting Table, Floating Kites, and an interactable Gong (in case you too need a wake-up call!).
Order up!
Remy has found something strange in his storerooms and needs your help investigating. It seems that before the Forgetting, Chez Remy had a stunning patio area! While Remy has his paws busy with his restaurant, he has a marvelous idea to support rebuilding it – if you help him to deliver food daily orders to the Valley’s residents, he’ll reward you with Wrought Iron that can be used to craft new wrought iron furniture assemble an outdoor eating space!
Surf in style with a new bundle!
Run, or SURF over and check out the latest Premium Shop addition – the Island Getaway House Bundle! Transform your Valley into a tropical paradise with Disney’s Lilo and Stitch-inspired additions. Make over your house to look just like Lilo’s or decorate with exclusive furnishings inspired by the Hawaiian Islands. After that, you can hit Dazzle Beach with Stitch in his brand-new, Parks-inspired Sun and Surf look!

Teased in a social post earlier this month – celebrate Pride this year by claiming a new collection of items via redemption codes in our blog here.
Memory Mania event begins
Feel all the feels in our latest in-game event! Inspired by Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2, you're invited to celebrate the theatrical release by searching your Valley to collect Riley's hockey gear, trophies, and birthday cakes to spawn Core Memory Shards. Completing these Core Memories will unlock new, exclusive Critters and more!
This event will run from June 26th to July 17th, so don’t forget to start piecing those memories together!
