Domina

v1.2.6

- fixed (again): quitting to menu and re-loading game sometimes loaded employees incorrectly or failed to load (prompting player to fire one.)

- fixed: gladiator victories/losses did not increment correctly.

- fixed: confusing wording on battle config screen when organizing an exhibition match.

- fixed: behemoths did not respect forced surrender in exhibition match. (lions will continue to be unaware of such a restriction because c'mon they're lions ffs.)

v1.2.5

- fixed: weapon/attack overtraining was broken if agility overtraining was not also trained.

- fixed: doctore emeritus > deeper humility I/II was not interrupting exhibition matches properly

- disabled gamepad support by default as it was causing some lag issues on systems that were not using gamepads (can be enabled manually in Game Options but please note that GAME MUST BE RESTARTED AFTER ENABLING IT)

- increased logging for magistrate/legate inventory crash

- balancing: medicus emeritus impediment healing 2X faster. no one likes a dude limping around for the whole game. dudes just gotta get over it sometimes, you know? wounds heal. plenty of fish in the sea, right? she's happy, thats the main thing. who am i to complain, she'd be miserable with me anyway cause look... im always working on this damn game or trying to have a nap or make the best egg salad sandwich the world has ever seen. whos even got time for netflix let alone time for chill.

- balancing: max stat gain for battles is now capped at 25 (larger battles especially in endless mode could basically train up a newb from 0 to 200. not even one of my patented egg salad sandwiches could provide that much stat gain so lets be realistic. be realistic. set your sights a bit lower. thats it, aim low. low expectations has got to be the way to true love. anyway, enjoy this seemingly arbitrary stat nerfing.)

  • can expand ludus up to 28 total gladiators
  • can build additional private quarters for up to 3 gladiators
  • can upgrade water fountain / vineyard / grainery for increased output

FABER EMERITUS

  • automatically provides 'superior qama' upgradeability for thraex
  • can provide throwing side arms for thraex to do quick ranged attacks
  • can always auto repair / auto upgrade
  • can prevent downgrades for all equipment - replaces all lost equipment for zero cost
  • can provide more durable nets for retiarius (so unfortunate dudes stay stuck way longer ha ha ha)
  • can provide 3X net holster (retiarius can spray down his opponents with superflous nets and wreak devastation upon the land)

DOCTORE EMERITUS

  • can allow max agility/strength/defense/attack level up to 250
  • can allow agility/strength/defense/attack training speeds to decrease dramatically
  • can decrease appeals for release, escapes, suicides
  • can increase chances of damaging more than one opponent per attack
  • can increase critical hit chance
  • can soak your men in lion urine to make them less of a target, and make lions more docile. hahahaahah.... tactical pee. i'm a responsible adult.
  • can increase damage done to nets (important, since theres some sturdy fckn nets available now)
  • can increase damage done to tethered ropes/chains (important, since theres some beefy chains now)
  • can decrease damage done by short blades (pugio, gladius)
  • increase morale and prevent a slightly overcrowded ludus from being a morale drop
  • teach mentorship such that victorious gladiators returning from battle will provide training points to their peers
  • gladiators can learn to surrender at 20%/30% of HP (will also trigger BESERK that much earlier, if you dont have YIELD trained...)
  • improved net and alternate weapon throwing speed/distance
  • murmillo can learn DUAL WIELD COBRA STRIKE to stun lock poor suckers....
  • allows greater training point rewards for battle

MEDICUS EMERITUS

  • can always auto heal
  • can train to heal up to 3 units at once
  • can train to heal behemoths, lions, and horses
  • can train for a 10% or 20% chance of reviving a fallen gladiator upon returning to the ludus
  • can heal gladiator impediments with phyisiotherapy

- gladiators who fall below 20% HP have a chance of developing a lasting impediment (restriction on max agility, weapon, defense training, or max HP)

FIXED

- hauruspex curses:

  • enemy hp modifier now goes from 50%-75%
  • ai proficiency debuff now visible in AI training / meditation amount.

- rejecting pit fight would sometimes cause enemy gladiator details to be unavailable on a subsequent chariot race

- domina_bot /me commands working again

- endless mode: morale drop after championship (actually was occurring the day before championship and the bug made worse if player quit the day after!)

- endless mode: quitting the day after a championship potentially left the game in a half-reset state where the day timer thought player hadn't done the championship yet.

- gladiator does some unknown task after manual heal, blocking training

- multi-monitors setups / game appears off-screen:
if fullscreen appears on the wrong monitor, you can manually specify which monitor to use via the userstate file.

  1. open C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Domina\userstate in your preferred text editor
  2. look for the entry
  3. specify a different index (available options will be listed in the line above.) (default, single monitor setups use: 0)

- intermittently, when hiring a new employee into a full ludus, the money would be withdrawn and the employee would disappear from the available list but not show up in ludus. (kids, have i ever told you the story about how i didn't initialize a variable in a constructor?)

- if you lose a championship challenge, but win the next battle, an incorrect "your hero survived" dialog box would sometimes show up.

- gladiators unable to pickup dropped weapons (if you encounter this please let me know! )

- during chariot races, player ranking could have been incorrect if a leading gladiator surrendered

- if two overlapping gladiators were clicked on, it could potentially break the equipment upgrade path

- domina death in final championship didn't always result in loss

- if game was saved while gladiator was undergoing healing and he had less than 50 HP, he would potentially die as soon as that saved game was loaded.

- battle should start even if audio system is borked (thought this was fixed ages ago, but apparently not. giving it another try.)

- magistrate patronage was not reset if he died during a plot even (resulting in the inability to re-establish patronage again until game was saved/loaded)

- quit to menu and re-load game would prompt with 'fire employee' if player had a full ludus and was trying to re-load the same game.

BALANCING

- attack/agil training buffs from battle are nerfed slightly for more difficult modes. (ie: if playing on hardest mode, your gladiator will now accrue only 1 training point for every 100HP damage they do)

  • max difficulty: previous: hp/50.0 now: hp/100
  • min difficulty: previous: hp/25 now: hp/25

- training buffs for defense are beefed up a bit as they are only rewarded for taking damage. (ie: if playing on easiest mode, your gladiator will now accrue 2 defense training points for every 100HP damage they take)

  • max difficulty: previous: hp/200 now: hp/200
  • min difficulty: previous: hp/100 now: hp/50

- nerfed: roll attack potency was not taking stamina/weight into account the same way a regular attack was. potency of a roll attack now depends on stamina the way a regular attack does.

- nerfed: tactical lion urine was a wee bit too effective.
