Build Update v0.4.1 - Fixes for The Mansion

Hello again!

How have you been? Did you liked The Mansion? :)

We have just made a quick update (v0.4.1) which includes some fixes and improvements, most of them based on your feedback from the forums.
Some of them are:

- Improvement in the understanding of the constellations puzzle (shelf): We changed the pictures that got confusion. Thanks to all the people at this post :)
- Fixes in textures and materials. Thanks to Bryerick
- Fix for the draggable mirror bug. Thanks to Lucky
- Update to the Unity last stable version (5.3.4)
- Platforms in statues upgraded to avoid problems when jumping. Thanks to Kylie
- Little fixes in gameplay, and mechanics and visual details

Happy 5th Anniversary, Doorways and Saibot Studios!

That’s it! Today, Saturday March 19th, Doorways turns 5 years.

While the first chapter of the game was published in Desura and on our Website (using the Humble Widget) on August 15, 2013, and then the final version of the first two chapters on September 20 of the same year, that wasn’t the beginning of this adventure.

A year and a half earlier, in March 2012, we started developing the game as a team, Martin Voychisko and me, in my room in my mum’s house. (picture)
But neither was on that date the beginning of everything. Before that we made prototypes in late 2011, when I was still working at NGD Studios.

And yet, that was not the beginning. What I’m going to tell you happened exactly 5 years ago, illustrated by the first picture from the album. This is something I’ve come to find out recently, when I was looking through some photos my mother took on a trip we made to El Palmar (Entre Rios, Argentina). It was on that time when I made the first sketches of what would become Doorways (at that time it wasn’t even named that way). I’m also sharing (unpublished before :D) some drawings that I done at that time, which turned out to be part of the final chapter of the saga.

While I believe that we become better developers as time went on, it is also worth noting that it was not easy. The developer team changed over time and those changes meant improvements, but sometimes they meant a step backwards. However, in some way or the other we’ve always managed to create something that was always better than what we had created before –we‘ve gained experience, we’ve put it into practice and we never thought in giving up.

It is truly rewarding to see what we have achieved so far in all this time :)
And I would like to thank once again all those people who have supported us: family, friends, colleagues and followers of the game.

Hello everybody!

We're glad to announce that the Second Act of the game: The Mansion is available to play RIGHT NOW!



This one has some hardcore puzzles and one of the most terrifying creatures in the Doorways saga!

You will be facing the mind of Celia Torres, the wife (and sister) of Juan Torres (The Roaster).

Act 2: The Mansion - First Screenshots!

Build Update v0.3.1 and MORE!

Hi! Hope you peolple had an amazing start on this 2016 :)

We continue working hard on Act 2: The Mansion.

We've just made another quick update (v0.3.1) which includes:

- Light optimizations for all maps

Build Update v0.3.0 – Including “El Chacal - Part 2” & Third Person Option

Hello everybody!

v0.3.0 is finally here and some great stuff are included :)

First of all, there’s a new part of the game ready to be played: El Chacal Part 2 is available now, it’s a short transition between Act 1 (The School) and what is going to be Act 2 (The Mansion).

But there’s more… That’s right! As we mentioned you before and as you can see in the image below, we added an option to switch to Third Person View!

For the first time in Doorways series, you will see how the Thomas Foster looks like :)



You can change the POV using key ”T”. And you can change the side of the Third Person View pressing key “Y”. Both are the default configurations, but you can change that as well from the Controls menu.

We also updated the game to the last version of Unity (5.3) so there’re some improvements in the general visual aspects.

We added a native Steam Controller configuration too.

And finally, we have been fixing bugs mentioned in the forum and also improved the performance.
