Update 1.2 - Civil Engineering
Hey Everyone,
It's time for the update you've all been waiting for! DTO v1.2 is without a doubt our biggest update yet, seeing full reworks to in-game visuals, performance, stats, an engine update, and plenty more.
Read on for the full patchnotes.
Major Changes
Rendering rework
-Previously, Down To One used a custom rendering setup to overcome a number of issues within Unity 4, and also made things like "hands-over-UI" possible. Since DTO is now running on the Unity 5.4 beta, we've been able to get rid of most of this custom, hacky code and replace it with cleaner, shorter methods that lead to less bugs, higher performance, and better visuals.
New PostFX
-Post-Processing isn't a term that everyone thinks of fondly, but DTO's newly updated PostFX pipeline, PRISM, has been built specifically for performance, and outperforms any other Post-Processing system for Unity by up to 500%. Not only that, but our new PostFX also get applied to the first-person camera thanks to the rendering rework, meaning that your characters hands + gun no longer look out of place.
Reworked visuals
-New textures, shaders, and color correction all add to the new Down To One experience. Add custom reflection maps for each area on the map, improved shadows, and no more occlusion culling bugs, and DTO has never looked so good.
Reworked ADS
-Previously, ADSing in Down To One 'glued' the camera to the gun, which meant that recoil when ADSing was not very visual. Our new ADS rework not only fixes this, but also gives certain guns different ironsight positions to better correlate with how your character would actually look down the sights.
Introducing the MP40
-A new patch wouldn't be perfect without a new gun, so the MP40 has started to appear in various military outposts & watch towers in Down To One. Firing slower than all other SMGs, but with very controllable recoil, and slightly higher accuracy, the MP40's 32-round 9mm magazine is a solid choice for close to mid range combat.
Reset perks, cash and stats
-With update 1.2, the 'season' has been reset, so everyone starts out again on a level playing field.
New perk - "Build A Wall" (Cost: 15 Perk Points)
-Your skills in border protection allow you to solidify the Playable Area for 60 seconds, turning it into an impassable wall and increasing damage dealt to anyone caught outside it for the duration.
Various major performance improvements

Hey Everyone,
Tonight's patch is one of our biggest yet, featuring 3 new perks, plenty of optimizations, bugfixes, balance changes, improvements to spectator mode, the UI, and more!
Read on for the full patchnotes.
Additions and Improvements
Added new perk - "Armor Plates" (Cost: 20 Perk Points/$50k)
-In an all-new 20 perk point cost tier, Armor Plates equips your player with ceramic armor plates, which give an extra 20HP worth of protection from damage before they wear out. This perk has a very high risk/reward factor - if you lose the extra health early on in the round, there is no way to recover it!
Added new perk - "Squats" (Cost: 5 Perk Points/$5k)
-After intense training, your crouching speed is improved by 15%
Added new perk - "Double Agent" (Cost: 5 Perk Points/$5k)
-Radios cannot detect you, and your position on the in-game map is scrambled
Increased radio spawn rate in many military spawners
Nerfed flare bombardment duration by 13 seconds, down to 7 seconds
Improved spectator freecam movement
Removed one unmarked minefield near the Old Airfield
Improved some food item icons
The server browser now shows more up-to-date information, and not show servers that have already ended
Added server hosting readme

Added new helicopter flyby sound
Hands now render under the UI by default
The playable area no longer clips at long distances from the camera
Added French translation to the main menu (thanks Adamyus!
You can now see players current weapon & weapon stats when spectating them
Added new "Throw Item" button (G by default)
-Useful if you're teaming up and need to throw an item over a long distance to a friend, thrown items do not deal damage
Added new playable area chat notification when it appears
-This change should remind players in houses/without vision on the playable area to get outside and check
Nerfed "Healthy" perk health regen amount by 25%
-The Healthy perk has always been a bit too strong, and recent nerfs to playable area damage meant that it would let a player perma-tank the playable area. This change should fix that.
Decreased most Military area spawner maximum spawns
Decreased bloodbag spawn rate in medical and residential spawners
Added new easy-start tick if a server does not start for a while
Added !perks command (works in specator mode as well)

Weekly Cup 43 and new Featured Region - Australia
Hey Everyone,
This week's featured region has come at a great time, with Australia Day yesterday, what better way to celebrate than to get some all-new Australian servers! For the course of the week, this will grant any player double rewards and experience for playing on any official server in the region.
Since launch, we've always wanted to have some Aussie servers, and (since the game is actually being developed from Australia), this is a great opportunity for our Australian community to grow! So, tell your mates to chuck a U-E, crack open a tinny, throw a few snags on the barby and jump in-game for a few cracker rounds on the new servers!
Update 1.1 Now that everything's looking nice and smooth, we're taking our time to create a massive post-launch update, which will hit early next month when ready. This gives us a chance to really break things, add new cool content, and sufficiently test the update before we push it out to everyone. Stay tuned to our Twitter for update teasers!
