You can now play multiplayer against players using meta quest devices. (This was soft launched a couple of weeks ago to double check that it didn't cause any issues)
Other recent changes:
Move speed
Can now adjust move speed in multiplayer to change focus from thumbstick movement more toward real life movement. Can set to slow, slower or By Distance - where it gets slower when you get near to an opponent. This can also help with issues due to lag/latency
PvP Options
Can now have realism or stamina mode fights in PvP. Realism means no special moves, no slow motion and reduced UI elements. Stamina Mode means 5x health
Other Changes/Fixes/Tweaks
Anti Lie Down now only activates is you stay low for an extended period of time, so it shouldn't kick in if ducking low etc
Can now use the Ninja Dojo as a PvP arena
Implemented : A 3rd party moderation tool to assist in keeping a positive community experience.
Lots of smaller bug fixes & tweaks
Future Plans
We are working on the following features:
Some DLC character/map packs
A character creator
A weapons mode (will take some time)
Some improvements to make spamming less viable vs actual technique
We don't have any ETAs for these yet, but join the discord to participate in beta testing of these features soon

Version 2.0.0 - Graphics Overhaul, Multiplayer
Hi All,
Its been a while, but behind the scenes we have been working hard for the last year, and can now announce the next chapter in Dragon Fist: VR Kung Fu, Version 2.0.0....
Graphics Overhaul
Environment artists and character artists have given the whole game a complete graphics overhaul, with pretty much every inch redone, but with the environments and characters retaining their existing personalities
Multiplayer
Can have up to 8 players in a game, but with only up to 4 characters fighting at once:
Featuring:
Versus Modes - Modes designed to be 1v1, but in arcade etc, spectators swap in to play after each knockout
Co-op Modes - can play the single player campaign, except 2v2 with a friend by your side. Also arcade mode, ninja challenge, halloween special and vertigo
More than 2 Modes - Modes designed for, well... more than 2 players. Free for all, Team Fight (2v2), Arcade. Or the Halloween special where 1 player is human and the rest are undead!
Replacing the stock music from before, each level has now had its own original piece of music to help immerse you in the world of dragon fist
New character bios
All characters text has been thoroughly gone over and improved
+ More!
Loads of smaller changes, too many to list + We will continue to add more things down the line and continue to try and improve the multiplayer and general dragon fist experience!
Here's a small preview of things we are planning/considering:
Thanks to all who have supported the game this far!
Halloween Special + More
So you are used to fighting Kung Fu masters and ninjas, but maybe were wondering: When will I get to fight against the Undead?
Well now you can in the new "Halloween Special" game mode.
The Jiangshi are based on chinese folklore and are kind of a cross between Vampires and Zombies, and have been seen in some Kung Fu movies including "Mr Vampire" (1985). Pressure points have different effects against them and occasionally you will encounter a zombified version of one of the normal game characters...
Also, if you want to play as a zombified character, that is also now available in Custom Game mode - pick Undead mode from the options.
Other Recent Changes:
Single Fight Mode - (Special Modes > Single Round Modes). You can use this to just have a single battle against a character. Can pick your character, opponent, and location, or have them random. You can also pick the amount of opponents
Quick next fight. In any of the normal modes, when you have won a fight, you can hold down the dash button to quickly go to the "next" fight. You can also make this happen automatically via options > Advanced. The "next" fight is determined by the game looking for the easiest unlocked character with the fewest stars
Other fixes to do with the completionist achievement, some special moves not breaking the master difficulty block
Been preparing some new fun content behind the scenes
Vertigo Mode & LIV Support
Vertigo Mode:
A new Single round game mode where you will fight opponents on a raised platform. All opponents will have full health, but you can quickly beat them by knocking them off the edge, while trying to stay on the platform yourself of course. There are some small platforms you can jump to with a few throwing weapons to assist you.
I think this is a fun addition as it requires different tactics to the normal game and the height factor adds a bit of jeopardy.
To unlock it you have to have landed 10 flying kicks throughout your dragon fist career. The special modes menu will show you how many you've got
LIV support
There were quite a few requests for this early on, but Ive always been a bit unsure about how it would fit with the game, but thanks to some help from the LIV team, it is in game and working now. Supports Mixed reality and Avatars to allow you to do some fun things to put in your videos/streams...
Heres me experimenting with it.
But better results can be achieved via green screen I believe (i must get one...) but im impressed with its ability to remove the background via AI.
Here is a clip of King Cosmotron playing using a scorpion avatar: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/SxWBQHMRjqM
In progress
Have been laying down the groundwork for some other fun things in future. Including new characters and levels. Hopefully a character editor and hopefully multiplayer (to be confirmed). I'm excited to be doing some new content for the game. Let me know if there's a character/scene you would like to see, but try to keep it (at least loosely) within the theme of the game - chinese kung fu movies, or maybe more broadly: martial arts movies
Other changes
Main menu calibration - will now pop up and tell you the size its worked out for you and allow you to go to advanced calibrate from there. This is just to make it clearer whether its worked or not and allow you to change as I know some people have had trouble
Custom safety circle size - can fine tune the size of the safety circle in the advanced calibrate room
Can now smash the mirror
Some improvements to the Training chambers to make it clearer what you have to do
Some minor fixes
CPU vs CPU + Quest 2 Version
CPU vs CPU:
A few people have said they enjoyed watching the guys fighting on the main menu and wanted more of that, so I added a special mode where you will be presented with a random fight and can try to predict who will win. I think its quite a fun little extra thing. I don't intend to add much more to this feature besides a leaderboard as I think I should be working on other things closer to the main core of the game.
Quest 2 Version:
If you've been holding off on the steam version because you would prefer a wireless experience (and dont want to use Air link) then you can now get the game natively on the quest: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/5075285115918784
There are some visual downgrades from the PC version, but the game is largely the same.
Other Changes:
Along side that, a few minor changes:
Changed calibration to also take arm length into account which will hopefully work better for those with long arms (or short legs) New game mode icons + new menu layout for special modes - let me know if its clear or confusing Throwing wine bottle or pistol at opponents now hurts them Spectate button can now be set to "Toggle" as well as Enabled/Disabled from before Some fixes todo with grabbing daggers etc with left hand and some things to do with left handed mode A some extra options added to the menu: Toggle Ambient Sound, can switch off hit effects Can now smash the mirror in the level select room Have updated the Demo
Full Body Tracking + New Music
Full Body Tracking is here!
I've wanted to add this from the start because I think if any game is a good fit for FBT it is Dragon Fist VR, and it was a fun, but difficulty thing to add. I wanted it to feel like a proper part of the game, not just an afterthought.
To make it work you need 2 or 3 vive trackers (other options are available, but Ive only used vive trackers). 1 for each foot and an optional one for the waist. But also you need a setup that will support these trackers i.e. one some base stations/lighthouses
Here is a page describing how to setup the trackers to work with the game: http://www.benoldinggames.co.uk/Dragon-Fist-VR-Full-Body-Tracking-Setup.htm
....or Here is a video tutorial on how to set it up:
Once setup, you will be able to kick and will unlock a special "Full Body Training" room, with some stuff to kick in
Make sure you warm up first! and keep all pets, children and ming vases well clear. Also consider using the safety circle to help keep you in the middle of your playspace.
New Music
Thanks to composer Leonard RR Cox, the game now has a main theme and some other more subtle tracks for some of the non combat sections (choosing level etc).
The main theme was inspired by an iconic song from kung fu cinema and I imagine aficionados will already guess from that (no, not 'kung fu fighting'!) and I think really fits with the game
Other Changes
Custom Game - "Slo Mode" changed. Have changed this so that your special meter is replaced by a slow mo meter that decreases as your slow mo runs out. Is charged the same way as a special move. Makes the game much easier, but its pretty satisfying to fight in slow motion
Advanced Calibrate - Can now also adjust the floor height, but I would recommend you set it up properly outside the game if you can.
Lin Yong now has a voice and will encourage you in the practice room
Characters on secret levels now have voices
Cheats will now be remembers between sessions and it will ask you on start up whether to keep them on + a couple more options added to "Enemy Hinder"
Advanced Calibrate + a few other surprises...
Advanced Calibration Room
I have added a new room that can be accessed via a button the level select screen. In this room you can manually adjust your height, as well as arm length and controller alignment. This is so that you can get your character to more accurately match your body proportions if you so wish. I think I will also add a floor height option at a later time.
Safety Circle
This is an experimental feature, so use at your own risk...
I know that in the heat of battle, sometimes the steam guardian or oculus/meta guardian can sometimes not be enough to stop you hitting a wall etc, so this feature will place a circle in the middle of your playspace to help keep you in the middle and will get more intrusive to closer to the edge of it that you get. There is also an option to just have a circle (less obnoxious), and to also show arrows to keep you facing forward.
If you use this, please make sure you have plenty of arm swinging space when in the circle and also note: if using a quest 2 that it can move the steam centre if you switch it on/off. Can use the recentre option in steam to bring it back in line.
New Mini Game: Punching Pad
Just a small thing, basically a game of whack-a-mole that you can play at the shaolin temple. Hit as many of the targets as you can within 30 seconds. Let me know if you have any other minigame ideas!
bHaptics
Now in addition to the Tactsuit (Vest), Tactal (Face) and Tactosy for feet, there is now also support for Tactosy for arms to help you feel blocks and strikes on your arms. I also added a few more effects to the feet for foot based special moves
Virtual Fighting Championship
In case you missed it: DFVR is in a bundle with another VR fighting game called Virtual Fighting Championship which features multiplayer. Check it out
New Secret Level
Its not *that* exciting, but still worth doing I think...
Access via smashing the photo in the Wing Chun school. Don't forget there's another secret level you can get to by smashing the photo in the restaurant Also if you want access to the cheat menu, then come to the discord and ask and I will tell you how to access it
I might add more secret levels later, as its fun. Someone suggested a fight against a bronze monk....
Other new features
YUR Fitness support - track calories burned while playing
wooden Dummy mini game now a bit more forgiving with kicks + increased the hand position changing a bit i.e. you can switch between fingers and fist quicker
Mirror View: Added the option to show health bars on screen
Special move tips - the first time you use each move it will explain how to use them in the fight. I added this because people weren't always going to the special move practice like I imagined.
Opponent Perks/Weaknesses shown at the start of the fight (not in all difficulty levels). So that you know whether to hit them in the ribs or jab them in the eye
Controllers now hidden with in spectate/out of body view
Custom game, added an option to adjust "Knockback"
Mirror View: Improved camera stabilizing
A bunch of small bug fixes and tweaks
Other news
Quest version is very close now, just ironing out a few kinks. Here are some screenshots...
Full Body Tracking is coming on. I have a few people helping test for me and its been pretty well received so far, but there are still a few calibration issues that I need to sort out.
If interested in testing either of those (both private betas currently), then please come and join the discord. Also feel free to join if just want to say hello, discuss fighting tactics or kung fu movies. Discord link here: https://discord.com/invite/mQTws3m5FU
