Dransik 2.2 - Build: 785.641

Major release - introduction of spell casting class along with enhancements and differentiation between melee class and ranged class. With this new class, a spell system has been introduced.

Many quality-of-life enhancements, bug fixes, and various improvements and suggestions have been implemented to polish the game further.

Changes

  • A server crash fixed
  • Fixed Anubis damage
  • Fixed more monster name typos
  • Increased weight and changed gold cost to trade skill items, gems, jewels, galenite gem, logs, planks, all ore, and all ingots
  • Fixed memory leak issues when going back from char/server to in-game
  • Hotbar - can drag Console command text to it

  • Weapon Selection Orb first asks Melee, Ranged, or Magery then skills based on that
  • Initial Weapon selection now explains the class briefly (including weapons, spell book, etc..)

  • Winterland Passage should say 20,000 gold
  • Wands are no longer blunt melee weapons -> magery weapon (no melee attack)
  • Non-combat targeting exists now (you can click on a target when not in combat mode and a white cursor will show). Switching to combat drops target.
  • Server / Player select won’t UNTOGGLE on a second press anymore
  • Server / Player select indicates which row is selected more clearly
  • Snape now sells potions in Chelra
  • Combat allows filtering of: seek out more of challenge messages…
  • Hotbar now supports self-use add mode and SHIFT drag add for self-use mode
  • The Hotbar shows self-use mode in light blue
  • Icons/buttons for the + - up arrow, right arrow, and down arrow have been improved to match the theme
  • PlayerStats has improved fonts for attributes and they are right-aligned and fit better
  • New equipment slots: neck, belt, left ring, right ring, food
  • Food auto consumes from food slot based on STA and FOOD STA replenish
  • Food can no longer be used on others (self-use like potions now)
  • The skill level-up effect is gold now / the main player level-up is purple

  • Wrapped Gifts, Loot Boxes of different types will reward with Holiday Gear/Items
  • Server select screen has a RESET SCALE button if the global scale gets overscaled.
  • Portal cannot be entered within 2 seconds of using by same player (anti ping pong)
  • Nimble set completed (including new quiver)
  • Mass Healing Scroll Remove, Minor Healing Scroll & Healing Scroll are now similar to how potions work but are SKILL and INT based
  • Lost goat quest should be fixed; you must place hay on the ground in the area << of silvest outside of forest and click it


Food Changes

  • Food was reviewed/updated to be more consistent with regards to effort to produce each item. Stamina/weight/gold has been adjusted. Several items of food that were not in game have been reworked/fixed.
  • Cows/Chickens/Pigs may now be fed/butchered for exp and meat; you must tame them, then feed them, then butcher them with a cleaver. Experiment with cleavers and meat grinders to make new cuts of meat. Books called “Animal Care” are available near farms to explain if you need assistance.
  • Cleavers can be made at level 25 forging with 15 iron ingots
  • All recipe books in game were reviewed for accuracy
  • Sugar/Cinnamon grinding at the mill is now fixed.
  • Pie crusts/pies can be made again including beef/chicken pie
  • Flat breads may be made by using a rolling pin on most bread doughs (level 25 carpentry and 1 log to make)
  • Some quality of life updates to mixing for visibility/visual organization in chat
  • Removed mention of cups of flour; sugar/cinnamon still work as before with cups etc
  • Healing from food is capped at 30, stam varies
  • Misspellings of various foods, inconsistencies in food fixed (biscuits, cinnamon, large/small raw meats etc)


New Creatures Unearthed

  • Perhaps this is the reason for the new powerful mages that have made their way into the world
  • There seem to be some new beasts that moved into WWL
  • A more populated world with wildlife


Mage Class

  • The initial set of spells are in across Arcana: Fire, Cold, Electric, Acid, Poison, Disease, Mending, Alteration skills
  • Spellbook is functioning to allow casting, dragging, learning, and discovery
  • Spell casting mechanics for draining staMANA, stutter
  • Fizzles cost 1 STA
  • Target Drops after cast ONLY if the target is a PLAYER and the spell is offensive
  • Casting supports player, NPC, object, or terrain targets for AoE / Touch, Ranged spells
  • Magery skill was remapped into Scroll Arcana
  • Spell effectiveness (damage range/duration) depends on INT, Arcana Skill Level, and Mage Weapon Skill Level + Mage Weapon Equipped
  • Mage Weapon Stats (min/max damage) scale the min/max damage range of the spell and influence the speed of spell casting and stamina cost
  • Many scrolls remove: Bless, Wooden Skin, Iron Skin, Recall, Fertility, Summon Swarm, Poisonous Field, Several others (that were never fully implemented)
  • ALTERATION skill was added - INT-based
  • SHIFT - Cast / Hotbar Self Mode casts work without changing target on NON offensive spells.
  • Spell Effects Added: Acid, Mending, and some others are final
  • Spell Effects Temporary: Other Arcanas have some place holders in them still, will replace as we have time


Range Class

  • DEX provides 2x as much AC
  • DODGE skill was added - DEX-based
  • Target Drops after shot ONLY if the target is a PLAYER
  • Won’t shoot if the target is next to the player (since it is always blocked)
  • Stutter is now linear delay over range Dex: 50 (max stutter) - Dex: 190 (min stutter)
  • Visual indicator for stutter is now shown
  • NOTE: Thrown weapons not reworked this pass, this will be done in the future
  • The weight of the bow determines STA drain when shooting
  • Very low stamina will slow attack speed


Warrior Class

  • STR no longer provides HP, but CON increased to make up the difference
  • Shield - will block NPC & Player ranged attacks based on STR and Shield AC
  • Shield - will block NPC ranged attacks when adjacent at a higher rate
  • The weight of the weapon determines STA drain when swinging
  • BLOCK skill was added - STR-based
  • Very low stamina will slow attack speed


Equipment Changes
Reverting some weapons back to previous speeds on certain items. Damage output may not be the same but the DPS should be similar or better

Small Blades

  • Stiletto -> Now speed 4, now deals 6-27 (changed from speed 3, 12-18)
  • Blade of Dexterity -> Now speed 2, now deals 12-20 (changed from speed 3, 15-28)
  • Ayles Blade -> Now speed 4, now deals 23-60 (changed from speed 3, 20-43)
  • Bronze Dagger -> Now speed 4, now deals 25-67 (changed from speed 3, 24-52)
  • Stygian Stiletto -> Now speed 4, now deals 32-80 (changed from speed 3, 32-69)

Happy Halloween Dransik! It seems that something spooky is happening near Garnea. Be brave or be dead is what travelers coming into town are telling locals.

Issues Fixed / Game Changes

  • All bosses made easier (slower cast time, move speed slower than player, ac lowered so you miss more). The boys and girls of scout troup 21 could solo them!
  • Void Patriarch and Void Zealots adjusted to be made scout troup easy with lower ac, damage and movement speed
  • Adjusted respawn rates or numbers for: Banished Knights, WWL Ice Devils, Skull Island, Goblin Caves of Silvest, Pirates, Renegade Island and SIlvest Snakes
  • Greater Healing Potion reuse/stutter reduced to original values
  • Mining will no longer give the 0 Thrall
  • Poison / Disease Got Hit effect was incorrect
  • Fixed doors, floor tiles, and a few other places where some accidental changes were made in editor

Issues Addressed

  • Getting 2 pvp deaths when killed by another player
  • Reduced monsters’ pursuit tenacity
  • Ammo weights too much
  • Getting attacked by Gus makes you flash on and off
  • Hunting Area Pass: Renegade Island
  • Death Port took to someone to the oldest body, not the most recent.
  • Encumbered limit (weight of collectibles like ore) and movement speed don't match
  • Pirates don't seem to spawn in Vels (updated encounter a bit)

Hunting Areas & Balancing - Renegade Island
Continued on with rebalancing - Renegade Island received some attention.


  • Renegades (high level) are on the west side of the island

  • Renegades move a little slower

  • Green, Red, and Blue are staged on the island differently now (by dragon type)

  • Green Dragons - Poison Axe drop at a higher rate and are removed from the generic table

Dransik 2.1 - Seasons and Champions Realm

Introducing Pantheon - City of Champions and Champions Realm. This realm will be the home of past season champions and allow all the gameplay of Dransik along with some unique and special game mechanics reserved for past champions.

Key Restrictions

  • Past season characters are restricted to Champions Realm
  • Current season characters are not allowed on Champions Realm
  • The city itself is a no-drop zone and a safe zone


Future Champions Realm Work

  • The current implementation is in its infancy in terms of content. As of now, the city of Pantheon has been put together in its initial form allowing banking, merchant activity, and tradeskills.
  • Various combat arenas that can be wagered on (individual and guild)
  • Combat training and testing areas
  • Hunting areas for leveling and items, normal stuff

Working toward getting a bit more of the core playability challenges solved with this release.

Issues Addressed


  • Healing scroll changes - put some caps on them
  • Unable to attack with range - lots of places, fixed, and maybe the Muknal pentagram too
  • Ammo weight problem - equipped arrows were showing 10x weight
  • Target Drops Sometimes - only unselects target when a click is in-game area now
  • Hunting Area Tuning - testing some design tweaks. Feedback welcome:
  • My Miss Animation Not Playing - enabled it and sound


Hunting Area Tuning

Made the high-end NPCS in Hell and Inversa a bit less badass. Mostly lowering AC and in NPC speed in most cases. Please let us know if this is an improvement. We may need to do more here (and in other areas, so feedback on both how it is working and where else to do it is welcome).
