The Points Shop: added 2 frames, 1 mini-background
Greetings, adventurer! Added two avatar frames and one mini-profile background to Steam Community Items, which are now available in the Points Shop. Hope you enjoy!
Thanks, see you later!
Drawngeon Steam Trading Cards out now!
Hello, paper adventurers! I'm happy to announce that Steam Trading Cards are now available! Along with the Cards comes, of course, a Badge, Profile backgrounds, Emoticons, and a few cool things!
Animated items are now available in Points Shop: an avatar, two frames, two stickers, and a profile background (and a mini version of it)! Hooray!
It wasn't easy! I had a lot of variations for the cards and emoticons. There were even 11 cards, but I reduced them to 5. I wanted to give a “surprise” to the players: you know that you can open the card in full screen, right? So, I wanted to put on the picture of the card Chest, and in the opened version there you would meet ... Mimic! That's it! But Valve didn't allow that. The mini-picture has to match the large-picture, like a “zoomed” picture.
However, when studying the cards of other games, I found that they too have mismatches of mini-pictures and large-pictures. For example, in the game “Broforce” (cool and fun pixel game by the way!). Well, that's okay - I redesigned my cards.
An axe was drawn specifically for the card, but that card had to be discarded in the end, as well as the chest card.
The chicken had a big picture that was drawn at "Inktober'18" as one of the early concepts for the game!
This was the set of cards originally. Such cards as Knight, Snake, Chest, Chicken, Axe and Bat were not included in the final set:
And these were the options for emoticons, look how many! But Valve only allows up to 10. I wanted to hide the cat (he's hiding again!) in the emoticons: in the mini version only the head would be visible, and when you put the cursor over it, the whole cat would be shown! But as it turns out, Valve doesn't allow that either.
Profile backgrounds have both old game graphics and brand new drawn pictures. Of the new ones, I can mention Miss Mushroom, Knight in Ruins and Village.
For the badge, I initially wanted to use an existing graphic. But then I drew a completely new graphic! For the idea I took the “Skill Tree” from the game, which grows as the hero evolves! It was a long search for a badge style. Valve also recommended to me that the foil badge should have a much different style, so I added this coloring to it. There were a couple of variations of the badge. How'd it turn out? Does it look cool enough?
There's also a couple stickers waiting for you! Here's what the iterative progress of one of the animated stickers looked like:
The animated profile background was made in GameMaker. Yes, in the game engine! The Drawngeon game itself is made in the same engine!
Thanks for your attention, adventurers! What do you think of this news? Run to write a comment, put a thumbs up, and check out the Points Shop for new items! If you've played enough, you should already have the cards in your Steam inventory!
Have a great gaming sessions!
Steam, Papers and Trading Cards
Hello, adventurers!
You may have noticed, but now Drawngeon Achievements are displayed and counted in your profile statistics! Yay!
Oh, well, I'm late with the news, however, I still want to tell you.
But that's not all. Along with that, I can now add Steam Trading Cards ːtradingcardː! And some profile items like backgrounds, smilies, etc. I think this is good news, folks! So, let's fantasize, what could be depicted on these cards? NPCS? Enemies? Maybe items?
Share your ideas and thoughts!
Good luck everyone, adventurers! ːsteamthumbsupː
18.07.2024 -- Update of Pause Button
Hello, everyone!
It's been over two years since the last update? Wow, it's been a while, hasn't it? There were plans to make an update (last year) with a Hungarian language translation of the game, but it didn't work out, sorry! But that's okay, here's the current update! See what changes are now in the game:
- The text of the information in the log is now different, hopefully the readability is better now. (Grey text on a grey background? Designer genius! (sarcasm))
- Fixed a couple of bugs related to the pause menu*.
- Fixed sound volume on the buttons in the settings menu. (was very quiet)
- Fixed AZERTY \ QUERTY change.
- Added backing for gamepad artwork and text in settings. This was needed to get rid of a graphical bug.
- Added UI button to call pause! Wow, 5 years after release? Really?
- Various sounds to buttons in settings added. I think the settings menu sounds now.
- Compass navigator has been changed. Used to only spell out one letter-side of the world. Now 3 are written and there is an animation of the rotation of these sides.
- Now when changing the resolution shows ‘*’ and flickers the button ‘accept’ so that you, the player, pay attention to it.
- The main menu now shows the game version.
- Various fixes for little things.
* The bug still creeps in sometimes, still trying to find a solution.
Screenshots of new elements:
Thank you for your interest in the game! It means a lot to me!
Rogue Festival Discount -60%
The drawn dungeons are waiting for you ... with discount -60%!
This should have been added from the start, but better late than never, right?
The pause menu now displays a list of defeated enemies, with which the situation with the Bestiary achievement becomes a little clearer.
I've also tried to fix a few bugs and specifically the "Melee Master" achievement bug. It turned out that there is a small problem with the settings from what does not always triggered the counter.
Thanks for your interest in the game and bug reports, it means a lot to me! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!
I hope I haven't added any new bugs with this update...
2021 may 15. Minor update
A minor update includes a small visual improvement for gamepad-text input, and mushrooms now reduces the effect of eaten item characteristics (should help when you're faced with a negative damage situation).
Update and improved gamepad
Greetings, everyone!
I would like to present you an update on the improved gamepad input! (Yes, once again)
New:
Added gamepad layouts.
This option can be turned off. I recommend using layout number 1, which is what brings the new improved input.
You can now enter your character name using the gamepad! (finally!)
Petal-input is used, similar to the one used in Steam.
The game menus are more adapted to the gamepad: meta-menu, skill tree and INVENTORY.
It is now easier to manage inventory using the gamepad - use the "lock on inventory" button and then use the d-pad to select a cell.
The "back" button has been added to meta-menu, character creation and settings menu.
A visual effect has been added when you open the SkillPad so you can see it better (if you haven't noticed it).
Added an icon indicator to show that the dungeon has been "cleared".
Asynchronous saving and loading. Please let me know if you have any errors with this new system.
Improvments:
A visual area has been added where you need to put the knife to throw it.
Knives can now be bought from a dealer.
Fixed bugs:
Limitation of turnaround speed with high agility
"Double bat" bug.
When an enemy is killed by a fire spell, experience is now given.
A bug with health recovery when eating an item.
Minor-bugs
You may also know that the game has already been released on the RedSwitcher thanks to the publisher. I am pleased to announce that the game will soon be available on the GreenBox and BlueStation.
Dungeon Paper News
It's quiet enough here, isn't it?
At the moment I'm working on updating the game, which will affect the gamepad input (and of course will try to fix the bugs).
In the meantime, you can pass your time by making a paper dungeon model! WHAT?!
Recently was the anniversary of the game Drawngeon and it went very quietly. But this event can be celebrated in a new game, in the development of which I took part - Cybxus Heart!
Cybxus Heart is not like Drawngeon. The visual style is made in pixel art, and the game genre is a dynamic bullet hell! And you know what? All this in the setting of the digital world!
What else to do after paper dungeons but to fly in cyberspace and shoot 'em viruses?
