Major Update (v1.3.0)

Hello Walkers!

It's been such a short time since I published the previous major update, I know. But this one has two very important improvements.

First of all, the game is now running much much smoother. Before this update, with my system, my lowest frame rate was 30 in a few areas. Now in those same places I get 50. And these areas are very rare. So 95% of the time the FPS is fixed to 60 in my system, meaning the game is now offering almost twice of the previous frame rate!

Another thing is that I have added more speed boosts to some areas of the game. So in more places you travel faster, and I think many of you will be happy about that :)

The rest of the improvements goes like that;

 • The path and some of the grass textures were replaced with more beautiful and realistic ones.
 • The brown rock ground texture replaced with high resolution one.
 • When the sky gets crimson, the yellow horizon color changed to white so it fits better with foggy landscape.
 • Some fixes on the menu.

You can always view the version change log in version.txt file in the game folder.

So it is version 1.3.0 and I wish you have a good time enjoying Drizzlepath: Genie! :dpgmix:

Major Update! (v1.2.0)

Hello Walkers!

I have made some changes to the game. Some of them small, some of them big, so let's get started.

One of the biggest progress I made was that I added dragons. There are two of them roaming high and low near the end of both paths. But as the game's story is complete, the dragons are harmless and just to enrich the environment :) You can name them as you wish, I didn't think of anything :P
Below are a couple of screenshots of them.

Another major change is that I have added exponential height fog to the world, and it has changed the look of the whole game. Some examples are below.

The rest of the changes goes like that;

 • Changed low res grass textures to high res ones.
 • More variety of thunder rumble sounds added.
 • Added spaces with various durations between the loops of some music tracks.
 • Sprinting in blue fields is now optional by toggling with left shift of keyboard or pressing left thumbstick of gamepad.
 • In the big cave, music does not fade out when stepping on the platform switch anymore.
 • In graphics menu, the adjustments that make greatest impact are marked.
 • The LOD of some trees were tweaked for better visual.
 • Fixed an issue in which the audio gets stuck with reverb effect.
 • Fixed a typo in subtitles.
 • Fixed an issue about cursor.
 • A few other little fixes.

So it is version 1.2.0 and I wish you have a good time enjoying Drizzlepath: Genie! :dpgmix:

One small update, giant steps on the blue plains!

Hello Walkers!

I have tweaked the game a little and now you will be traveling 2.5 times faster as long as you are somewhere around the blue plains :) I would like to do it for more areas of the game but that would cause the narration voiceovers to overlap.

Anyway, enjoy the speed boost, and have fun! :dpgmix:

Update (v1.1.4)

Hello Walkers!

I have heard some of you want to decrease the volume of music of the game in some places. And got some requests for an adjustable audio volume menu. It took a while for me to make it because a feature like this was way more complicated and time consuming than I thought. Anyway now in Drizzlepath: Genie you will be able to adjust the volume of the game's narration voiceover, music and effects independently or all together as you wish to.

As for some complications of this feature I have done many tests myself but still if something goes not so well, please send me feedback about it.

One thing I can tell is in the main menu, before starting a new game if you set the effects volume to 0 or somewhere near it, that will make your drizzle sound at the beginning of the game not changable for that session even if you set it to higher values in the ingame menu. Then I recommend clicking Save & Quit, then from the main menu, click Last Save. But the better solution is to keep it at a high value before beginning a new game. I'm sorry I couldn't find any solution for this particular situation.

So it is version 1.1.4 and I wish you have a good time enjoying Drizzlepath: Genie! :dpgmix:

Update (v1.1.3)

Hello Walkers!

After a short while I have been able to change the settings menu of Drizzlepath: Genie, completely.

Now it has it's all new design. And with it, you will be able to close it with the same key you open it (Esc on keyboard, Right special on gamepad). With the new menu, now you will be able to adjust the motion blur amount as you wish. The new View Distance Scale option makes great impact on the performance of the game. Now with the improved mouse options tab, you can invert the mouse horizontally, vertically or both. There are also options to adjust the mouse sensitivity seperatedly horizontal and vertical. Toggling headbob is now not done by H key but from the Game tab of the new settings menu.

A little fix I made with this update is when you finish the game and credits scene starts the grass appearance won't delay.

That's all for now and I hope you have a great time on Drizzlepath: Genie! :dpgmix:

Edit: The closing menu by Esc key works in the game, not the main menu.

Update (v1.1.2)

Hello Walkers!

As the time goes by, I am getting more feedback from you and continuing to update the game. Now it is v1.1.2 and here is what's new;

Lately heard about the checkpoints resetting when exiting game is not nice. Also when clicking "Last Checkpoint", it takes you a long way back.

So I made the checkpoints also work in the main menu in the game. Now when you exit to the main menu, you will see the option "Last Checkpoint" there. But the Continue option remains with the new title; Last Save. While the Last Checkpoint takes you to the last checkpoint, Last Save takes you to the location where you click Save & Quit.

And I have also doubled the number of checkpoint locations in the game, so you won't have to re-travel that much.

As a little addition in this update, I saw the torch lights in the caves were too bright, so I made them look a bit more normal.

That's all for now and I hope you have a great time on Drizzlepath: Genie! :dpgmix:

Some Visual Improvements

Hey Walkers!

Recently I worked on some visual improvements of the game.

I got feedback from some of you about the caves being lit and the overall shadows of the game weak. So I made the shadows more effective and at the same time the light intensity higher so the contrast in the game has increased. And the caves are mostly darker.

Another thing I focused was the trees which appeared with billboard LOD in the distance. I have set that distance longer, so they will look much better as long as they are not extremely far away.

Now the game's version is 1.1.1 and here are some samples from the update,

Major Update

I just made some fixes and added a couple features for Drizzlepath: Genie. So let's take a look at what's new:

 • There is a new mode in the game called Gothic Vision. Toggled by G button on the keyboard or left bumper on the gamepad, the game will be black & white with much more grain and higher contrast and vignette effect. Some of you may like to toggle that especially just before taking screenshots in certain locations of the game world. I have added some screenshots from that mode to the game's gallery on the store page. Note that you can toggle it while you have the control in the game and not while watching the cutscenes that are at the beginning and the ending of the game. Below are some comparison examples.

 • Many of you were complaining about the difficulty of the jumping parts of the game. Now those parts are easy peasy and nothing can take you away from your relaxing mode!
 • Some players requested invert mouse feature so I also set a key for that. While in game just press I key and the mouse will be inverted.
 • I made a fix on a little part of the game world's landscape paint.
 • The Controls screen that you view by clicking Controls in the ingame menu is updated with additional keys and a new design.
 • Finally I got report that while in the ending scene sometimes the illustration does not appear, and I also fixed that issue by editing some scripts.

As you see there are plenty of changes in the game that we can call it a major update. The version is now 1.1.0 and I hope you will enjoy the game even more.

You can always check the latest version of the game and it's improvements from \Steam\steamapps\common\Drizzlepath Genie\version.txt file.

Walk on and have a great time on the Drizzlepath: Genie! :dpgmix:
