We are now in full launch! Play by yourself or with up to 3 friends locally in this chaotic, fast-paced action game starring a scientist who is terrible at making time machines!

Get it on the first week for 25% off!

Final Day of Early Access

After 3 and a half years of development and a little over 3 months of being in Early Access, we are finally at the end of the road for this game. The Chronicle Bench team has had some bad moments, but we have a lot more good memories, such as coming up with the story and concept of the game, designing bosses and weapons, and even some silliness.

This marks the final day that Earth Overclocked has its beta tag, and then we launch for real. You may be wondering, "What will happen from here?" Well, while the game won't be very active in development after tomorrow's launch, this doesn't mean that the game will completely cease development. Sometime after release and the team has a break, we will be looking into post-release content for Earth Overclocked, such as new modes and weapons.

I still advise not buying the game until tomorrow because of the first week launch discount. This is the final warning that I will give. Put it on your wishlist for now.

Pre-Release Out For Those Who Own Beta Package

We would like to announce that a pre-release build of version 1.0 of the game is now available for those who own the beta package of Earth Overclocked. After restarting the Steam client and allowing Earth Overclocked to update, when you run the game from the client you should get a new option called "Pre-Release Review Copy." Clicking on it opens up version 1.0.

Please be aware that this option ONLY works for Windows users who own the beta package! It should throw a missing executable error for everyone else. (The majority of the players.) If you are wondering what package you own: if you bought the game from the store or another store, or received a code from us after August 24th but before November 27th (today's date), you own the normal package and not the beta one.

For reviewers, we highly encourage looking at the pre-release review copy (version 1.0.0.0) over the one in early access (version 0.9.3.2), since it is an accurate representation of the final game. We will be sending out review keys starting soon.

Release Date change

Sorry to change the release date shortly after announcing it (the life of an indie developer). v1.0 will be released on December 4th instead of November 30th. We still plan on doing the discount once we release it, so stay tuned!

WARNING: Price Will Increase Soon!

I am giving this out as a warning. Between the 0.9.3 update and full release, the price of the game will increase by 25%! (This number can vary based on currency.) However, this will NOT be your last chance for getting the game at its current price, since we plan on doing a full release discount equal to the Early Access price. So if you feel like you need more time to decide, no worries!

I would also like to say that the new local multiplayer mode coming in 0.9.3 is pretty chaotic. ;)

EDIT: I would also like to clarify that the new price will be the final price for the game.

Slight Change in Plans

I would like to announce a change in plans. We have decided to combine the 0.9.2.2 update with the 0.9.3 update and release their content at the same time. Remember as we said earlier, this will be the final major update before we prepare for full release. A new trailer showing off the new local multiplayer aspect of the game, and also announcing the full release date of Earth Overclocked, will be launched alongside 0.9.3. The full release, version 1.0, will include the rest of the polishing changes and access to the Conclusion game mode for those who have unlocked it, as well as a revamped save system so that your saves will be compatible across computers and work with Steam Cloud.

Will there be updates after the full release, you may be asking? Well we would love to add more bonus features and content, but we need support from the fans! The more the game grows in popularity, the more we can update it. Help us spread the word!

Multiplayer Is Almost Done!

After some hard work and sweat, the Multiplayer mode is almost finished. Here is what to expect for Multiplayer in v0.9.3:

  • Up to four players locally with any combination of Keyboard + Mouse and four Gamepads!
  • Players cooperate and share coins and keys.
  • You start with more coins and keys with more players.
  • The maximum number of keys that can be held goes up with the number of players.
  • The number of enemies and pickups increase.
  • Bosses have their health multiplied.
  • Multiplayer does not contribute to certain unlockables, and can be played in Distorted Earth or Earth Unleashed.
  • Each player can be named and have unique control schemes.
  • A highscore and best time to beat for each playthrough!
  • Competition between players is planned for later updates.

Concerning the next update, v0.9.2.2 (v0.9.6 for Mac), weapon stats will be visibly displayed and can be compared during gameplay. This can help you decide which would be better weapons for you without expending durability testing them. Alternate tiles for each biome will assist the patches in making the biomes not look flat. And of course there's a bunch of tweaks included with v0.9.2.2.

v0.9.2.2 will be coming out relatively soon, while Multiplayer will require a lot of testing before being opened in v0.9.3. I hope you will have lots of fun with your friends!
