New Patch Updates for Eden Falling Alpha

Happy Tuesday, survivors!

We’ve been busy implementing a lot of fresh features and bug fixes into the Eden Falling Alpha lately, so we wanted to give you a quick rundown on what’s new in case you missed it!

Across the last few patches, we’ve had all sorts of snazzy new updates, including:

  • Lens bootup SFX added to intro cutscene
  • Targeting Reticule SFX was fixed to play properly
  • Bar Music - no longer plays during character creator
  • Removed enemy runaway camera for better visibility in the tutorial
  • Glitching object materials resolved in Bar
  • Updated Settlement scene
  • Fixed wolf spider death ragdoll timing
  • Moved a few NPCs around in the main menu scene
  • Gender selection dissipation effect now added in to transition away from the selection and into the cinematic
  • Tutorial contract drone not clipping through buildings anymore, just comes straight down and straight back up


So if you haven’t had a chance to hop into the Alpha in a while, now’s the perfect time to jump back in and see what’s changed! Plus there are a lot more exciting things to be added in the near future as well of course 😉.

New Faction Quiz Tasks For Alpha 2

Happy Tuesday, survivors!

Now that you’re refreshed after some rest and relaxation over the weekend, we have a request (don’t worry, it’s a fun one)!

Character creation is a key element of beginning a new adventure in Eden Falling, and one of the core components of that process is the faction quiz. Given that there are so many different combinations available as you progress through the faction quiz, it’s easy for some bugs to slip through the cracks, so we could use your help rounding them up!

Some examples of issues to be on the lookout for would be whether the scroll function works as it should, whether the text is legible, whether the faction name matches the faction itself, and so on.

Tutorial Updates Added to Alpha 2

Hey everybody, hope you all had a frightfully fun Halloween!

We wanted to check in with an exciting update on a recent patch we added for Alpha testers to get their hands on.

With the help of your valuable playtesting feedback, we’ve implemented a few changes on the scene with the old man, who has been patiently waiting for some TLC since we last gave him a pass back on August 5th.

In this new patch, we’ve fixed the lip syncing issues so that the old man’s voice should now be aligned with his mouth movements, we’ve tweaked his animations so that they will match the context of his speech and actions, and we’ve resolved some general clipping issues with his clothes and body.



As always, keep in mind that the tutorial is an ongoing work in progress, so please give the old man scene a whirl and see if you catch any pesky bugs! We love when you break the game, because it helps us make it better!

Eden Falling...

Hey there! We've been deep in The Afterfall, fightin’ the Ferals - kickin’ ‘em in the face and bitin’ ‘em in the shins, because, like you, we are survivors and we know our Destiny is what we make it.

We are on build 00.57.35 of Eden Falling’s Closed Alpha 2.

Starting next week, we will be implementing some of the new amenities, creatures, settlements, equipment, vehicles, and much more! Each new build brings new opportunities to create your Destiny.



We will also announce more specific tasks for testers to focus on. Don’t know what to try and break? Watch this space, we’ll be letting you know.

And if you have a key, but haven’t activated it yet, go ahead and activate it. Then enter The Afterfall and see if you have the key elements within yourself to survive and thrive in Eden Falling!

For those who want to know the “Key” to entering Eden Falling, you will discover it in the ARG (Alternate Reality Game) we will be running in our social media posts very soon, so keep an eye out!

Our ARG will be a puzzle of sorts, a type of treasure hunt. We will be posting within some of our social outlets “hints.” As you collect and solve the answer from the provided clues, you will receive a prize. That’s the “key” to our ARG, collecting and solving the puzzle and receiving the prize.

Also, we came across this new TTRPG called Rupture. It has collaborative storytelling with simple mechanics, high fantasy encouraging individual creativity within an open world lore, engaging both players and narrators to create immersive experiences within the world.



In Rupture, just as in Eden Falling, it doesn't matter where you come from or where you’ve been, you can create your own destiny. So don’t be surprised if some Rupture paraphernalia shows up in Eden Falling.

Eden Falling’s Closed Alpha 2

Eden Falling’s Closed Alpha has been up and running since September 5th, and although it’s been a minute since our last post, we have been hard at work addressing everything our testers have been telling us and putting out new builds regularly.

We want to thank every single tester that has been with us from the beginning and those just joining us now. All the insights, suggestions, and copious amounts of data we have collected has been invaluable.

Alpha Testing Phase 2 Begins September 5th, 2021!

With the success of Alpha 1 we’re now ready, and excited, to begin Alpha 2 testing!

Over the course of Alpha 1, our team managed to fix various bugs that were reported by you, our play testers. We’ve also updated the game engine for a better experience when running the Alpha version of Eden Falling. Going forward, play testers can expect to see more game rules and features that will be available to test.

Originally, we announced that at the end of Alpha 1 that all keys would be revoked. Our team ultimately decided that instead of taking away the keys from Alpha 1 play testers, we want them to keep their keys as a thank you for their continued support during the development of Eden Falling. We’re very grateful for the help and feedback that we received from you during testing, and we hope that you will continue testing with us during Alpha 2!

You can look forward to a complete UI Overhaul, smoother gameplay, and more rules and playable content. If you want to help us do this to the best of our ability, we'd appreciate if you took the time to fill out this Alpha Tester Survey about your experience with the game.

For those who have received a key but haven't activated it yet, we encourage you to redeem your key, try out the latest build of the game, and let us know your thoughts!

During Alpha 2, our team wants to dive a little deeper into the issues that could be behind various bugs being found in game. For this reason, we’re asking play testers to provide a bit more information.

Salutations to all the Brave Souls who Accepted the Challenge and ventured through the overgrowth, defeating wandering marauders, mutated spiders, and maybe even enjoyed a few moments in the bar to smooth out the rough edges that come with surviving day-to-day in Eden Falling.



We wanted to let you know the latest build of Eden Falling will be pushed out soon, but after this build, there will be a temporary delay in game updates as we are upgrading our game engine.

This will allow us to utilize better-than-ever features to run the game faster and more efficiently.

Which means more fluid gameplay, better fidelity, and smoother gameplay with high def graphics. And when we’re ready to implement multiplayer, the improved engine’s network code will mean smoother rollout and let us focus more on design and balance.

We are ecstatic to hear how many of you are enjoying the game and are looking forward to the new and exciting updates we have in store.

We also want to sincerely thank the thousands of testers who are enjoying Eden Falling and we are appreciative of all the constructive suggestions, tenacity, and enthusiasm!

Hey Everyone! An update patch was pushed through, and more fixes will come over the next few days!

  • Combat sound updates
  • Made changes to Hills with River
  • Added coasters to glasses and cups seen from the doorway in the bar 01 T5 scene.
  • Added settlement night music.

  • Implemented settlement music loops
  • Improving Eden Intro looks. Tweaking Lighting and some materials. Removing Missing script in camera and removing empty marker.
  • Added animation controller placeholders for NPC spawn points and interaction points in the

  • Broke out the interaction points into separate, single interactions. Added building assets out the front windows to block the view.

  • Some users are experiencing white “mannequin” NPCs, while others have their NPCs load perfectly as soon as they enter a scene.
  • Sometimes, the Use button in the tutorial will fail to execute.
  • Rarely, the checkmark for the first tutorial box fails to progress the tutorial.
  • Initiative Icons either don’t appear or “fly away” during the player’s first encounter and do not return.
  • The highlighted numbers on the action cards (the most likely values) have started to disappear.

Closed Alpha 1 Testing Of Eden Falling Is Live!

Welcome survivors!

Today marks the official start of the Eden Falling Closed Alpha 1 and we are excited to see you tackle the game in various ways and report any bugs that you find!

Before we get into the details of testing, there is a Code of Conduct that must be followed. Any breaches of the Code of Conduct will result in an immediate revocation of your Alpha-1 key and possible further action, so make sure you read over this document thoroughly before you begin testing. A copy of the Code of Conduct will be provided in the email containing your Alpha-1 key. You can also click the link below to view this document.

Use the following link to report any bugs that you find. We encourage you to bookmark this link for the duration of testing for quick and easy access.

We want to make sure players get the most out of testing. That is why we’ve implemented a reward system for players who are dedicated to testing the game. During testing, you’ll have the chance to earn your “Stripes.” These stripes come in the form of special tags for the player, exclusive in-game rewards that will be available to players at the launch of the full game, invites to our private Discord channel as well as future testing events, and more.

Rewards will be given based on the amount of hours played and unique bugs reported. Hours may roll over for continued use in future test sessions so that players can continue to play and collect as many rewards as they can (For example: In the event that we have an Alpha-2 test, if you’ve played 15 hours during Alpha-1 testing then you’ll begin Alpha-2 at 15 hours). Hours you play will be catalogued and you will be retroactively compensated when the stripes are implemented upon the release of the game.

Finally, we want to remind everyone that Eden Falling is still in early development, and that this build of the game is not a representation of what the final product will look like. This means that various aspects of the game are subject to change before the actual release of the game.

How to properly fill out bug reports
Please explain what happened and the exact steps you took when the bug occurred.
Screen shots and detailed descriptions are ideal
Indicate whether you were able to repeat the bug in the game
Or when you log out and try to duplicate it does not happen.
One-shots are not very useful. Both you and us have to be able to repeat it.
If the game crashes or glitches out, please disable any other programs that you have running on your PC, i.e., close any unnecessary programs.
We have fixed a lot of bugs during the Pre Alpha run and we continue to work hard fixing and adding new content regularly.
