Hey Everyone! An update patch was pushed through, and more fixes will come over the next few days!

Fixes

  • Combat sound updates
  • Made changes to Hills with River
  • Added coasters to glasses and cups seen from the doorway in the bar 01 T5 scene.
  • Added settlement night music.
  • Sound Adjustment
  • Implemented settlement music loops
  • Improving Eden Intro looks. Tweaking Lighting and some materials. Removing Missing script in camera and removing empty marker.
  • Added animation controller placeholders for NPC spawn points and interaction points in the
  • Barbershop Amenity 2.1 T5.
  • Broke out the interaction points into separate, single interactions. Added building assets out the front windows to block the view.
  • Added a couple more plants to the small planters.

  • Fixing issue where female Voice Over played while receiving contact lens if you chose male.
  • Adjusted old man Voice Over after Character Creator to give the camera time to jump back into place so his lines can be heard

  • We added a button to reset the tutorial (this will also delete all your characters). Eventually, we will add a button to reset without having to delete characters. This button is located in the
  • Settings menu.
  • Updated EndGame UI.
  • Updated the play phase radial with auto show functionality.
  • Updated the map to add indicators of currently selected terrain/location.
  • Various updates to the character creator UI visually and functionally
  • Updated inventory, search, and loot, and merchant UI so that select, use, discard, and transfer buttons have their hover text in the right place. Also started updating the container scroll view so that it accommodates large text names in the confined space.
  • Random buttons in the Dossier should be visible now.
  • Fixed the Looting Panel for looting an enemy.
  • Updating sound mix in the opening scene
  • Merchant scene no longer causes slowdown when shop inventory is open
  • Settlement slowdown has been significantly reduced
  • Enemy now consistently dies at the end of the tutorial fight.

There were many Character Creator issues


  • Adjusted volume in the bar so the NPC dialogue can be heard
  • Adjusted volume for character creator music
  • Adjusted volume for button sounds
  • Fixed a T-poser character.
  • Swapped out some sitting animations in the comms center.
  • Updated some Text elements in Inventory and Merchant UI’s
  • Graphical settings now function.
  • Fixed an issue with the search and encounter phases’ ending up crashing
  • Fixed a bug with random faction assignment
  • Fixed some minor Character Creator UI elements.

Known Issues



  • When making a new character and going through the tutorial section we have cut out the merchant section and at the end, you are sent back to the Main Menu. Once there you can select the character you made or make a new character without the tutorial.
  • Also, We are aware of hair issues, eye issues on the old man and kid, and the extended time between leaving the bar and receiving the first tip. We will be addressing those shortly.

Those that have already downloaded the Pre-Alpha Demo and have issues will have to update their registries and delete saved characters. We are sorry for the inconvenience.



To clear your player preferences follow these directions:

  • Open your registry editor and delete the keys at
    HKEYCurrentUser/Software/RazorEdgeGames/Eden Falling
If you want your new install to behave like a fresh install
  • Delete the Eden Falling folder entirely.

Below are directions only if you would like to play the tutorial again.


To play the tutorial again

  • Just delete SkipTutorial
or

  • If you look in there and SkipTutorial's value is 1 and you want to skip the tutorial, you can leave it as it is.

Additionally

  • Clothing now works
  • Facial blends now work correctly
  • Hair now works correctly
  • Skins now work correctly
  • When selecting Attributes/Skills no longer prevents players from moving forward
  • Added Hair to several characters that were missing Hair
  • Improved various animations

  • We added a button to reset the tutorial (this will also delete all your characters). Eventually, we will add a button to reset without having to delete characters. This button is located in the
  • Settings menu.
  • Updated EndGame UI.
  • Updated the play phase radial with auto show functionality.
  • Updated the map to add indicators of currently selected terrain/location.
  • Various updates to the character creator UI visually and functionally
  • Updated inventory, search, and loot, and merchant UI so that select, use, discard, and transfer buttons have their hover text in the right place. Also started updating the container scroll view so that it accommodates large text names in the confined space.
  • Random buttons in the Dossier should be visible now.
  • Fixed the Looting Panel for looting an enemy.
  • Updating sound mix in the opening scene
  • Merchant scene no longer causes slowdown when shop inventory is open
  • Settlement slowdown has been significantly reduced
  • Enemy now consistently dies at the end of the tutorial fight.

Known Issues



  • UI doesn’t appropriately scale for many monitors when at full screen. We’ve temporarily forced the game into windowed mode at 16x9 resolutions until we can get the UI scaling appropriately.
  • Some users are experiencing white “mannequin” NPCs, while others have their NPCs load perfectly as soon as they enter a scene.
  • Sometimes, the Use button in the tutorial will fail to execute.
    Initiative Icons either don’t appear or “fly away” during the player’s first encounter and do not return.
  • The highlighted numbers on the action cards (the most likely values) have started to disappear.

Hey Everyone! An update patch was pushed through, and more fixes will come over the next few days!

Fixes

There were many Character Creator issues


  • Adjusted volume in the bar so the NPC dialogue can be heard
  • Adjusted volume for character creator music
  • Adjusted volume for button sounds
  • Fixed a T-poser character.
  • Swapped out some sitting animations in the comms center.
  • Updated some Text elements in Inventory and Merchant UI’s
  • Graphical settings now function.
  • Fixed an issue with the search and encounter phases’ ending up crashing
  • Fixed a bug with random faction assignment
  • Fixed some minor Character Creator UI elements.

Known Issues



  • When making a new character and going through the tutorial section we have cut out the merchant section and at the end, you are sent back to the Main Menu. Once there you can select the character you made or make a new character without the tutorial.
  • Also, We are aware of hair issues, eye issues on the old man and kid, and the extended time between leaving the bar and receiving the first tip. We will be addressing those shortly.

Those that have already downloaded the Pre-Alpha Demo and have issues will have to update their registries and delete saved characters. We are sorry for the inconvenience.



To clear your player preferences follow these directions:

  • Open your registry editor and delete the keys at
    HKEYCurrentUser/Software/RazorEdgeGames/Eden Falling
If you want your new install to behave like a fresh install
  • Delete the Eden Falling folder entirely.

  • Just delete SkipTutorial

  • If you look in there and SkipTutorial's value is 1 and you want to skip the tutorial, you can leave it as it is.

We are so excited for all the interest and feedback. We appreciate that everyone understands this is a Pre-Release Alpha build and so some things are missing and or not working as well as we hoped.

Eden Falling Demo Announcement



Good afternoon fellow gamers! We at Razor Edge Games are super excited to announce that at the stroke of midnight on Wednesday, June 16th, you’ll be able to get your hands on a demo of Eden Falling right here on Steam! The demo is, of course, a pre-alpha build of the game, so we are expecting some issues to become apparent! But we encourage you all to post any bugs or glitches you find here on our Steam discussions page so we can pass it down the line and get things fixed as soon as possible!

Please note that the demo will be available on June 16th!

The demo will be in 16:9 format and thus might not work with every size of display. We plan to support more resolutions in the near future.

While on the subject of Steam; we know that things have been a bit quiet here in the past year, but 2020 was something no one could have planned for. However, in the last year or so, we hit the ground running and expanded the team exponentially! So in the coming days and weeks, we will be responding to as many of your questions and concerns as possible, so please, lay them on us! We may even have another announcement or two coming down the pipeline very soon, so please continue to check-in here on Steam for our upcoming announcements!

EDEN FALLING - 2020 Updates

Fellow Survivors! We are alive and well, despite all that the Afterfall has thrown at us.
The road has been long and the challenges vast, but we at Razor Edge Games are committed to bringing you a game that fulfills the promises that have made to our fans. We are uncompromising in achieving our vision, and unlike certain AAA studios which shall remain nameless, we are not interested in delivering an inferior product just to capitalize on hype.
We appreciate your patience, and we promise that it is not in vain.

Since our last update we have made numerous revisions and updates to ensure our game is as engaging and immersive as possible. These improvements encompass every department of our production, and including but not limited to the following:


  • Improved environments and level design. Coding enhancements have enabled us to create interactive scenes, and properly implement cover and other combat elements. Environments are modularly generated, allowing for endless exploration and unique play-through experiences, but also regionally aligned, meaning that every area has its own dangers and strategic approach.
  • Fully integrated weather effects which not only provide their own challenges and dangers, but which also affect the world at large. Did a meteor shower or spore storm pass over your favorite settlement? You’d best pray they survived the experience!
  • Settlements, the precious pockets of relative safety for survivors of the Fall, have been modulated to allow ~100k possible unique locations. Every friendly location you explore will have its own technological level, unique NPCs, available quests, amenities, and more.
  • Coding for the complex quest system has been completed, allowing for 10s of thousands of possible quests and contracts. An adaptive quest delivery and reward system means that no playthrough experience will be the same; quests have triggers and story branches which can depend on world state, season, faction alignment, and other player-based and environmental factors.
  • Completely revamped User Interface to improve player experience. All map and navigation elements are in place, as well as place of interest and settlement amenities. Our world is primed to explore using an intuitive and engaging menu of choices and control.
  • The combat module is complete. Enemy and friendly NPC AI now accounts for available cover, concealment, wound level, morale, and relative intelligence. Expect your opponents to respond to environmental cues and exploit the same advantages or disadvantages you would!
  • The combat camera has been fully implemented, allowing players to witness their success or failure through an exciting, cinematic lens. Issue commands to your character and followers using a turn-based (but time-sensitive!) system and watch the action unfold.
  • Working VFX now include plasma and laser weapon graphics, dynamic environmental lighting, realistic water effects, holograms, and holographic displays. We’ve overhauled all textures and shaders to increase immersion; characters, objects, and the environment reflect wear, accumulation of dirt, and damage.
  • Character animation has been improved to a level of detail that includes lip-synced speech, hair, and clothing. Character and NPC models also adjust to reflect their attributes and stats.
  • Cleaned up and streamlined a TON of code, reducing overall system requirements without sacrificing quality. Scene loading times have been cut nearly 80% to minimize the time players spend waiting to explore new regions or places of interest.
  • Video recording and playback system is in place, allowing for players to record their most epic moments and visceral combat encounters. Post your stories and videos to the community forum to share your experiences with other survivors.
  • We’ve expanded the marketing department to maintain a more active presence on social media and keep our growing fanbase better informed. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to stay abreast of changes, and watch for the emergence of our playable demo!
