Performance Patch



Performance improvements:
- Added mips texture streaming (reduce memory usage of the game and make it more constant)
- Vast performance improvements on the openworld terrain system (CPU and GPU)
- New system for rendering clouds in the sky that cost less in performance and have a better result
- Improved ocean rendering CPU usage (Kaladaan Coast / Elon Village)
- Fixed a bug where FX controlled by cutscenes where resetted at each frame causing some CPU spikes (Chapter 0 mainly)
- Added internally a "4K profile" to optimize the game for 4K resolution (not ready yet it's 50% of the job but it should already give a huge performance boost at 4K resolution)

Other fixes:
- Auto cutscenes improvements (should fix a lot of softlock cases in chapter 3 / 4) (some talk animations are still big work in progress)
- Replaced musics in Chapter IV with their orchestrated versions
- Fixed a bug that was not applying game settings automatically when the game start (for example azerty settings not applying automatically)
- Fixed a bug that could clear the weather after sleeping in a weather lock area (Olphara)
- Added new model for inn interior for the sleeping scenes
- Fixed a rendering bug that was causing a "blurry" effect on the image
- Fixed a bug where auto cutscenes could softlock when started from a Nekaroo
- Fixed a bug that was preventing fights to end when all characters where wiped during Chapter IV optional tower defenses
- Fixed a bug with cutscenes transitions where it could softlock during a fade to black
- Water is now affected by atmosphere scattering
- Fixed a few softlock with some bonus objectives / boss / puzzles combo
- Added a trigger condition to the bonus objective "residual fire damage"
- Fixed a few minor battle issues
- Fixed a few cases where the openworld terrain could become completely black due to a GPU driver loss / reset
- Fixed a special case in the stalker tutorial where Daryon and Ordo could move too far from each other for the item tutorial
- Fixed an animation bug with the Gurrn boss where it could stay in casting loop animation

Minor Patch



- Fixed multiple game crashing cases
- Fixed a bug that could cause negative battle time and thus softlocking some battles (like the mass battle with the corroded in the Chapter III)
- Weather weaknesses and resistances will now have a lower priority than entity weaknesses and resistances, meaning that if the target is weak or resistant to an element the modifiers from the weather won't apply and so an enemy for example weak to fire will always stay weak to fire even if it's snowing.
- Fixed a bug that could cause black screen softlock when a cutscene have conditional spawns but the character is not present in the party (like myrna) fix the lighthouse boss blackscreen issue.
- Decor interacts with health are not backstable anymore
- Fixed a few shader display issues

Gameplay Patch & Hotfix 3 for Anniversary Update



Feature:
Auto swap target: When an entity die all targeted spells to that target will be swapped to another target in range, if there is no targets in range the spell is cancelled and the ATB cost is refunded

Fixes:
- NPCs spawning is now waiting for all maps to be loaded (prevent some undermap npc spawning issues)
- Fixed a bug that was making the chapter 4 secondary quests tower defense softlocking the game
- Fixed more fade to black softlock issues
- Fixed an issue with the textbox that could cause a softlock if the first text of a dialog is a choice
- Improved auto cameras during auto cutscenes with line of sight obstacle avoidance
- All the creatures in a creature group are now despawning when defeated after the battle is started with a field attack
- Fixed a few internal loading bugs that was preventing some visual fx to spawn correctly like the corroded tentacles in battle
- Fixed a bug that was making some sounds unaffected by audio settings
- Fixed a few lipsync issues
- Removed classic UI controller option (not removed from the UI yet but it is not effective anymore)
- Added VFX to stalker fusion canon attack

Gameplay Patch & Hotfix 2 for Anniversary Update



Features:
- Added a new textbox with some fancy effects and transitions (fade, adaptive text speed).
- Added an auto lighting system to autocutscenes (mostly used in Chapter 4 and Chapter 0)

Fixes:
- Fixed a bug that could corrupt resources after loading a scene that use common shared resources with the previous scene (proper fix for lighthouse bug and weird icy texture on the elon pathway)
- Fixed a bug that was preventing some puzzles to start in case of slow hard disk drive
- Fixed multiple fade to black transition error cases (will fix the Moeba quest ending)
- Fixed a bug that was preventing the special attack of Selen from doing any damages
- Fixed a few LipSync issues
- Fixed a bug that was preventing Crystal Fruits to be looted (they will not be visible in your inventory if you had some before the patch but at the first you'll loot they will appear in the inventory and the previous amount you possess will be there)
- Fixed inn music playing twice
- Fixed a bug that was allowing to do an exploration attack while petting the Nekaroo
- Balanced volume of some SFX in the Junkyard
- Fixed a few crash cases

Hotfix for Anniversary Update



- Fixed a bug that was causing asset corruption when reloading the same scene twice (fix the pink lighthouse issue)
- Fixed a bug that was preventing the wardrobe and skins to function correctly
- Fixed a bug that was preventing to load item icons in the key item and consumable section of the inventory
- Fixed a bug that was preventing to go back to the main menu after playing through specific maps
- Fixed a softlock issue on some cutscenes and some dynamic events where the screen could stay blocked during a fade to black transition
- Fixed a softlock issue with decor interacts (like ballistas) and bonus objectives with specific bosses
- Fixed a bug where invisible items could appear in the key item section of the inventory
- Improved performances during cutscenes with VFXs
- Fixed a random crash related to the terrain system
- Fixed a crash that was occuring when having one or more mod enabled
- Fixed lot of minor errors and crashes from the crash reporting service

If you missed the news, this update is quite unique. With new gameplay additions like the Field Attack, the Combat Challenge System, and a completely revamped and seamless tutorial, now is the best time to discover Edge of Eternity, its deeply tactical combats, gripping story and enthralling soundtrack!

Indeed, this new chapter is a complete redesign of the beginning of the game, focusing on the development of the plot & characters. To try it, you’ll have to start a new save file, but fear not, Chapter 0 doesn’t affect your progress so you can go back to your main save file after that.

In this chapter, you’ll learn more about Daryon & Selene’s quest to save their mother by going back in time, Waging a fifteen years-long war with a mysterious invader, the Consort's army is now threatened by a new calamity : a devastating sickness called "The Corrosion."
On the eve of a large-scale counter-attack who might very well decide the fate of his world, Daryon is confronted with the impending death of a loved one.
Unbeknownst to him, he will set in motions events that will resonates through the edges of Eternity.

Anniversary update chapter 0: The Seeds of Destruction is coming on January 30!



Hello!

The next chapter of Edge Of Eternity Early Access is getting closer! We’re finally able to announce that chapter 0: The Seeds of Destruction will release on January 30! The game is also at 25% off!

We can’t wait to show you what’s coming in this new chapter! It is quite different to the previous ones because the main focus will be the complete rework of the beginning of the game. It’s something we had in mind for a while now. We feel that in its current state Edge Of Eternity’s first hours of gameplay didn’t manage to convey the story & character goals like we wanted to.



This new chapter will unveil many mysteries around Daryon, Selene, their mother & how their quest started. If you’ve already played Edge Of Eternity early access, we strongly advise you to start a new file just to start a new game to play chapter 0 to have a better grasp of the main plot of the story (& also check out our amazing new cutscenes :p). Once you’re done, just get back to your main save as Chapter 0 doesn’t affect your progress.



We’ve also completely reworked the tutorial to make it more fluid & intuitive, so that new players understand better the main mechanics of the game. We've also added new mechanics that'll be explained soon alongside some quality of life improvements. Don’t hesitate to tell us what you think of all the new stuff.
