Small Update - v.1.202
Update v.1.202
This is a small update mostly addressing one glitch a player found.
Finn's face art has been updated a bit. I'd never been 100% happy with it before. I feel it looks much better now. Salome was improved slightly as well.
The unique armor "Paladin Plate Mail" has been reworked. Now all physical damage of any type or element will be reduced by 20% instead of only damage with the "physical" element. You can now see this adjustment in the "Stat Details" screen under Status in the menu.
Update Details
Improved Finn and Salome face art
Reworked 20% physical damage reduction functionality for "Paladin Plate Mail" so it works on all types of physical damage
Fixed a glitch where you could get stuck with the small boat unreachable when disembarking next to the tree grave southwest of Riddari
Added more small black dots representing locations to the world map since many new locations have been added since launch
Please take a moment to write a review of Einlanzer if you have not already. It helps tremendously!
Happy Adventuring!

Update v1.201
Welcome to Einlanzer version 1.201!
There are a lot of small but significant changes and additions to the game in this update. Each change will be described in detail below:
New Rewards for Being Dishonorable
There is a HUGE reward for making honorable decisions through the course of Einlanzer in the form of the powerful Excalibur late in the game, but there were few benefits to being dishonorable other than taking trinkets here and there when Alice/Galadin frowns upon it. Now there are three distinct advantages to being dishonorable to balance the big reward for being honorable.
New Vile Equipment Previously, the strongest base item type in the game were "Diamond" weapons and armor. In v1.201, there is now even more powerful "Vile" weapons and armor that are only available if you have been fairly consistently dishonorable. They are not drastically more powerful than the Diamond weapons. Also the weapons lower luck and HP, and the armor lowers luck and MP to balance the weapons a bit. There is a new item seller of the Vile equipment in The Abyss after the Nightmare Gate.
Diamond Equipment Seller in Canan Previously, "Diamond" level equipment was not able to be obtained (except for a few chests) until the player reaches The Abyss. Now, there is a way to purchase Diamond equipment in Canaan. There is a new nixie added to the north section of Yggdrasil Woods. This nixie will have an honor event (gain or lose some honor depending on your choices) and sell you Diamond equipment if she doesn't sense that you're a do-gooder like the angels. In other words, if you have too many good deeds in your past, she won't sell you the gear.
Masterwork Equipment Seller in Riddari Castle Similar to the Vile and Diamond equipment, there is an event when you are inside the back halls of Riddari Castle where you have an option to purchase Masterwork gear earlier than normal. You will not be given this opportunity if Finn thinks you're too good.
Victor's Invincible Rage Skills Rework
A build has been discussed in the community for making Victor permanently invincible. Previously, if you put enough RP building items on Vic, a Blessed Ribon, and used either Undying Rage or Perfect Rage, you could keep the invincible effect going permanently. While it is fun to experiment and find strategic builds/equipment sets, this one was game-breaking. You could do this build to defeat any enemy later in the game. Also, while doing this strategy, battles would take FOREVER.
Victor's "Undying Rage" and "Perfect Rage" skills no longer add the invulnerable status effect. Now, a "Damage Halved" status effect is applied for these skills. Absolutely all damage Victor takes while this status effect is applied is halved (similar to Guard, but he can still take actions). This will retain the original intention for these skills--Victor will still be a tanky behemoth, but the "Invincible Victor" strategy will be impossible.
Tiamat and Void Demon Rebalancing
Partly because of the Victor rework, the last two enemies in the Colosseum have been rebalanced. Players were having too much trouble defeating these bosses (this resulted in players figuring out and resorting to the Invincible Victor build). Both enemies now have less offensive capabilities but more HP. This will cause the fights to still be epic, strain your resources a bit more, but not be quite as difficult.
New Accessory that Lowers Encounter Rate
Based on player feedback in the community, a new item has been added to the game. In the massive corkscrew that leads to Yvalak's Chambers in The Abyss, there is one side path that leads to a group of treasure chests. One formerly held a single, boring, tent. Now, this chest contains the "Crystal of Warding," an accessory that raises magic power, magic defense, and luck slightly. It's primary function is that it halves the amount of random encounters that occur.
This item is given very late in the game for a specific reason. Once this point in the game is reached, there are basically no more dungeons to traverse (except the secret epic difficulty dungeon). If players want to go to previous dungeons and explore, this item will allow this to be done without having to fight nearly as many time-consuming, easy enemies.
Aesthetic Changes to The Abyss
The Abyss is supposed to be a whole new realm with living, intelligent creatures. Previously, it felt more like simply the last dungeon. Many things have been added to The Abyss to help establish a living-breathing realm-like feel. Abyss monster NPCs have been added throughout The Abyss that you can talk to. Most have unique dialogue that let you have a deeper idea of how Abyss creatures live and think. Also, floating jellyfish overhead have been added to most areas of The Abyss to make it feel even more atmospheric.
As always, please spend a couple minutes writing a review of Einlanzer. It helps tremendously!
Enjoy!

Einlanzer v. 1.200 - Full Controller Support!
Full Controller Support!
Since the release of Einlanzer, many users have complained that their PC gamepads, Xbox 360 controllers, etc. did not work. This is now fixed!
When you launch Einlanzer, you will now have two options: Keyboard/Steam Controller optimization or PC Gamepad optimization.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT If you prefer using the keyboard or Steam controller, you can ignore this....
If you have already started playing Einlanzer and want to now use the new PC gamepad version, you must copy your save game files and paste them in a new directory. How to do this is described below. Once this is done, your save files are exclusive to the two versions of the game.
Already started Einlanzer and you want to swap to the PC gamepad version? Follow these steps:
Go to your Steam directory.
It is usually C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam
Or...
C:/Program Files/Steam
Navigate through the Steam directory. Follow this path:
..Steam/steamapps/common/Einlanzer/Savegames
Now copy all of your save games (select them all and press ctrl+c)
Now navigate to a new file by following this path:
..Einlanzer/PCGamepad/Einlanzer/Savegames/
Now paste (ctrl+v) and you are done!
Boot up Einlanzer, select the PC Gamepad version, and your save game files will be there ready to go. Steam cloud saves will act like normal, but again, the PC gamepad and the Keyboard/Steam Controller versions are like seperate games. The save files will not transfer between the two versions. In other words, once your save game files are in the right place, keep playing the same version or you'll have to copy and paste back and forth.
I know this is not a PERFECT fix, but as long as you follow the above steps and don't swap between versions, it'll work just fine.
Update Details
Added new launch option to play Einlanzer with PC gamepad optimization
Exclusive for PC Gamepad version: Created new controller guide images at the start of a new game to correspond with PC gamepads, Xbox 360 controllers, and PS3 controllers
Update v1.111
New Blessed Ribbon event!
Undeniably one of the most important items in the game is the rare Blessed Ribbon, which prevents almost all status effects from being applied to the character wearing the accessory.
In an effort to teach the player how important and powerful the Blessed Ribbon is, a new event has been added.
A nixie is present at the forest Lanzer Day statue southeast of Alabaster. If you talk to her, she leads you on a wild chase through the surrounding forests. Following her and surmounting her tricks will grant you a Blessed Ribbon MUCH earlier in the game that was previously possible. This also brings the total number of Blessed Ribbons in the game up to four (though one is only available after the secret super difficult extra end boss).
Reworked "Plains of Balance" skill
The skill you are able to learn from the plains gem called "Plains of Balance" previously allowed a character to sacrifice 50 RP to grant any party member 100 RP. This had two problems.... First, a character could do this ability on themselves, then do it two more times to feed ridiculous amounts of RP to his/her allies. This was not the intention of the skill. Second, in the course of the game, this was the first skill learned from the Lanzer Day statues. Early on, not only do characters not have abilities that need 100 RP, but it was confusing for players.
The Plains of Balance skill has been completely reworked. It now erases all debuffs for the whole party, removes some status effects (stun, paralyze, poison, and confusion), and grants a magic defense buff for 3 rounds. This makes it much more versatile and gives the unique ability to remove a whole party's debuffs. It's also more easy to understand for players near the beginning of the game.
Thank you as always for all the positive feedback. If you enjoy Einlanzer, please spend a few minutes reviewing the game on Steam! It helps tremendously.

Celebrating Earth Day in Einlanzer (Lanzer Day in game)
Update 1.109
In celebration of Earth Day (Lanzer Day in game), eight statues dedicated to Lanzer and his realm have been scattered across the world map.
Each statue represents a different aspect of Lanzer's realm and will give you a one-of-a-kind gem that will teach a new skill to whichever character you choose... permanently!
Each new skill is unique and is related to the geographical feature it represents.
Also, a new Lanzer Day Achievement is now available for finding all eight Lanzer Day statues!
You can see the statues from the world map if you search for them.
Happy Earth/Lanzer Day! Enjoy!

Hotfix Update - 1.107
New Detail Stats Screen
For a more clear representation of a character's stats, I've added a "Detail Stats" screen under "Status" in the menu.
No more wondering exactly how much evasion Finn has with all those fancy evasion boosting items... this screen will tell you exactly.
One confusing thing is the difference between "RP Regen" and "RP Charge"
RP Regen is the more common stat. It is what the strength belts raise, the Karati Gis, and most other items. It's simply a number between 0 and 100, meaning that is how much RP you will gain passively each round.
RP Charge is when you get hit by an attack or ability, how much RP you will gain. For example, with the "Rage Belt" item, you get 50% more RP Charge when attacked. So, if an attack would give you 20 RP normally, with the Rage Belt equipped, you'd gain 30 RP.
Update Details:
Added "Detail Stats" option under "Status" in the menu
Added 25% RP Charge to "Headband of Fury" accessory
Fixed bug where a player got stuck in the discount item shop in Nynnyaw
Changed Ratt's description to be more clear about "Pinned" status
Gave Silver a description
Buffed Silver to gain 5 RP each round, and 50% bonus RP when attacked.
Update v1.105
April Fool's Foolish Fool's Day Calendar Event is now over!
We hope you got all the foolish items, because they'll never be available again!
New Fortune Teller!
A new fortune teller has been added to the town of Kuli. This fortune teller has two purposes:
Gives you an idea of your path of being a true leader or being dishonorable
Gives you hints about future events as the story unfolds.
Several players suggested that there be a way to find out your "good points" as you progress. I always wanted this to be a bit nebulous (you don't have a good/bad meter over your head in real life), but the fortune teller will give you an idea of where you fall.
As for the fortune teller describing the future... that's mostly just for fun. However, it might give you some foreshadowing for events to come.
Go back to Kuli and check with the Fortune Teller periodically as the game progresses to read all that she has to say.
Update Details
Added a Fortune Teller in Kuli
Removed April Fool's Day calendar event, skills, jester, and title splash art
Changed Null-Magic Mantle and Negatron Cloak to simply raise Magic defense. The old effect didn't seem to be working as expected. Null-Magic Mangle boosts magic defense by 50, Negatron Cloak boosts it by 90.
Changed the icons for Null-Magic Mantle and Negatron Cloak
Fixed glitch when entering Kuli and moving left or right, you went back to the world map.
Fixed spelling mistake on "Finesse Bracers"
You now first obtain Golem at level 50 instead of 40.
Changed names of Finn's "Flurry of Daggers" I, II, and III skills to "Dagger Flurry" I, II, and III.
Made all of the bosses (except the Zombie Dragon) in Strahl keep have slightly less attack and magic attack power.
Fixed Foolish Mega Elixir - it now raises all fainted allies, heals HP and MP, and adds debuff to all affected's stats for 3 rounds.
Made the world map mountain path easier to see (people were missing them)
Have fun, adventurers!
If you haven't already written a Steam review for Einlanzer, please spend a few minutes doing so. It helps tremendously.

Recap of Improved Luck Stat
Luck is a stat that helps your character shrug off status effects. Most stats scale with the rising difficulty of the game. However, status effects are as much a threat at the beginning of the game as they are at the end. There's no scaling with status effects. Therefore, it is pointless to have scaling with the Luck stat.
Each character now has a static Luck stat that will protect them from status effects. For example, unless you use "Luck Up" items on Finn, his Luck stat will be 400 for the entire game. Finn has the highest luck of any regular character and will shrug off status effects a little less than half the time. Galadin and the Golem have the lowest at 150. They have a small chance to prevent a status effect from being put on them.
This should balance the game a bit better in regards to status effects.

Update v1.103
Steam Achievement issues fix
People have been having occasional issues with Steam Achievements being earned in game but not showing up on Steam. Also, in the past, if you earn an achievement while not online, the game had no way of telling Steam you earned it. This update will fix the issue.
Now, each time you earn an achievement, you will earn a key item related to that Achievement. For example, defeating the Orc King will earn you the key item "Trophy - Stumbling Victory!" which corresponds to the Achievement.
A sleeping man has been added to the inn in the town of Alm. This man will update your Steam Achievements based on which trophy key items you have. You can talk to this man as many times as you like if you ever have issues.
This will make it so you can still earn the achievement on Steam even if you earn the achievement in the game while not online or when it glitches and doesn't communicate with Steam correctly.
If you have already started a game, the first time you talk to the sleeping man in Alm, it will automatically give you all of the key items associated with your earned achievements.
Seasonal Events
I'm planning on implementing seasonal, temporary update events to Einlanzer. For example, on Halloween, I might have wearable costumes that change character's appearances... or collectible unique candy items you can turn in for items. There might even be an April Fool's day update in a few days... we'll see... ;-)
