Introducing Improved Luck Stat

Luck is a stat that helps your character shrug off status effects. Most stats scale with the rising difficulty of the game. However, status effects are as much a threat at the beginning of the game as they are at the end. There's no scaling with status effects. Therefore, it is pointless to have scaling with the Luck stat.

Each character now has a static Luck stat that will protect them from status effects. For example, unless you use "Luck Up" items on Finn, his Luck stat will be 400 for the entire game. Finn has the highest luck of any regular character and will shrug off status effects a little less than half the time. Galadin and the Golem have the lowest at 150. They have a small chance to prevent a status effect from being put on them.

This should balance the game a bit better in regards to status effects.

Specific Patch Changes

<*>Added Subclasses
<*>Changed Luck stat functionality
<*>Various typos fixed
<*>Added a message to first Unknown Swordsman (Shen) battle to warn to rest before talking to him.
<*>Added a walking animation to Salome in Talik when you first meet her. Players were walking around town not noticing her standing still.
<*>Lowered Orc King's strength to 150 and agility to 35.
<*>Added several treasure chests in the first few dungeons containing Potion of Life items.
<*>Changed it so Alice learns the "Raise" spell at level 4 instead of level 8 (if Alice is between level 4 and 8 at the moment of the update, she will still learn the spell at level 8).
<*>Slightly lowered XP gain on all enemies in Mt. Toureg.
<*>Changed Golem's face and game sprites to be dark red so it looks different from the elemental fiends.
<*>Made the elemental fiend faces darker (in text/game, not battle).

PC/Xbox/PS3 Controllers Help Video

Hello Adventurers,

I have made a video to guide you through the process of making your PC etc. controllers work with Einlanzer.

https://youtu.be/Jim0etf5uz0

It is really very easy. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Please consider contributing to Joy2Key. http://joytokey.net/en/purchase

*Edit*
I have had a few players who said they do not speak english. I will write out text instructions so players can use Google translate.

1. Make sure your Gamepad is set to default
Plug in your controller and go into your control panel. Depending on which version of Windows you use, you might click the Controller icon, a "Devices and Printers" icon, or something else. You want to find where you can see "Devices" shown and see your controller. Right click on your controller and click "Game Controller Settings" then click "Advanced." Set your controller as the default controller.

2. Download and install Joy2Key
Go to http://joytokey.net/en/
Obviously you can get the language version of your choice. Download it and install it. I extracted the zip folder to my desktop so I can run it easily and quickly before I play Einlanzer.

3. Bind Controller keys to Keyboard keys
Open Joy2Key. Double click on Stick1: left. Type the “A” key, then press okay. Continue in this manner for the below keys
Stick1: right. Type “D”
Stick1: up. Type “W”
Stick1: down. Type “S”
(skip down past the Stick2 keys)
POV: up. Type “W”
POV: right. Type “D”
POV: down. Type “S”
POV: left. Type “A”

The Buttons might be different for your controller.
Z = Menu/Cancel
X = Dash
C = Select/Interact
Q = Page Up/Left
E = Page Down/Right
F12 = Reset to title screen
What works for my controller is below.
Button 1: Type, “X”
Button 2: Type, “Z”
Button 3: Type, “C”
Button 4: Type, “Z”
Button 5: Type, “Q”
Button 6: Type, “E”
Button 7: Type, “Q”
Button 8: Type, “E”
Button 9: Disabled
Button 10: Type, “F12”

4. Save your settings!
Go to File, then save. Rename it Einlanzer if you would like.

Remember to load Joy2Key each time before you play Einlanzer with a Controller.

First Small Patch -- Big patch coming soon! (Subclasses!)

Patch notes 1.001

This is just a small patch fixing a few minor issues players have found.

Huge update coming soon!

Coming soon - Subclasses!

In a patch coming soon, whenever you gain a new party member, you will have the option of choosing one of three subclasses.

Scroll down to see specific subclass details!

About the PC controller issues...
There is no way to have custom Keyboard keys and correctly functioning Steam Controller settings and have PC/Xbox/PS3 controllers work as well. I will continue to search for possible fixes for this, but I'm not optimistic.

Good news! There is an easy work-around. JoyToKey is a program that lets you bind gamepad keys to keyboard functions.

http://joytokey.net/en/

Simply use the program to bind whatever gamepad buttons you want to these keys:

w,a,s,d, = movement
z = cancel/open menu
x = dash
c = confirm/interact
q = page left/up
e = page right/down
f12 = reset to title page

I hope this is not too much of a hassle.

Thanks!
Thank you to everyone playing and enjoying Einlanzer. The positive comments and support I have received from you, the players, is very encouraging! I've received great feedback from many of you. Do not hesitate to contact me if you find any bugs or have any questions or concerns. Please remember to rate Einlanzer once you have a few hours under your belt.

Gamepad issues

Dear Einlanzer Players,

There is a known issue with PC Gamepads, XBox 360 controllers, and PS3 controllers not working. There is no way to fix this issue with the RPG Maker engine. Apparently the entire internet is stumped by this issue.

Einlanzer To Be Released On Father's Birthday

Einlanzer will be released on March 1, my father's birthday. He is the first person to do a full playthrough of Einlanzer except for me, the creator. He also helped me pay the commission for the 14 original tracks in Einlanzer by Antriksh Bali.

My father has always been there for his kids and wife no matter what. He's the kind of man who, if you wrote him into a story, everyone would say he was too good. He would be unbelievable in a story. In my story, he is an unbelievable father.

Thank you for always being in my corner, Dad!

Executive order: buy Einlanzer!

Today, Trump passed an executive order saying everyone has to buy Einlanzer on Steam when it is released on March 1st.
