Animal Husbandry


Overhaul of taming system. Your animal breeders can now build animal traps to catch and tame animals. Animal breeders will bring any caught animals back to the animal pen. Caught animals need to be tamed using raw food.



Tamed animals now eat raw food and can reproduce. Skilled animal breeders will allow for happier animals with faster production and reproduction rates.

All animals can now be tamed instead of just sheep. The old way of taming and hunting has been removed as it was pretty clunky and didn't work right. You can still use your military to clear out specific animals.

A number of new animals have been added.

Item overview tool


New tool to view items on the ground and mass forbid/claim items.

You can also designate items to bring home. Your active military squads nearby will pick up the items and drop them when deactivated.


Balance and Pacing changes


Tweaks to research and experience system to make initial colony setup faster. Made research artifacts slightly more common and cheaper. Easier difficulties have lower hostile event frequency. Wave sizes have also been adjusted downwards.


Combat Improvements


Initially the plan was to add more advanced combat mechanics like a morale and leader system in this update. However we've realized that the combat AI should be the priority instead. Fights should now be much easier to control.

New animations for combat. Only the currently used weapon will be shown instead of all items in a colonist's inventory.

Tweaks to combat balance. Metal weapons and armour slightly nerfed so there is a smaller jump from stone to metal. Shields can only be used with one handed weapons.

Bug and crash fixes


A number of bug and crash fixes. As always, please upload save games of any issues encountered.

  • Tweaks to squad AI, when a single target is set, colonists which can't reach the target will attack nearby enemies instead (behaviour is still better if squad is stationed nearby instead of targeting specific enemies).
  • Tweaks to enemy AI, increased priority of attacking colonists near them instead of running past to objective.
