We're thrilled to tell you a little about Project G, our next game, and our first foray into the roguelite genre.

Project G is a co-op action roguelite set in a dark fantasy universe. We've dropped our first teaser in our series to set the stage for our game annoucnement and trailer over the coming months.

This first teaser should give you a window into the vibe we're going for with Project G.

EA Update 1.7.0 - Public Lobby Browser

Summary

Update 1.7.0 brings public lobbies to Enemy On Board. This feature will eliminate the need to go into our Windwalk Games / Enemy On Board Discord to find matches. Additionally, we've addressed an FPS drop issue that occurs in custom-matches of less than 8 total players.

I've made this a Major Update since our community has been "quite vocal" about it. Shout out to Cris for implementing the public lobbies and Rosco for addressing the FPS issue. The Windwalk Games team thanks you for your patience.

Public Lobby Browser

Update 1.7.0 brings public lobbies to Enemy On Board. Private lobbies ARE STILL AVAILABLE and will not show up in the lobby browser.

Functionality

  • Kick - Party leaders can kick a turbulent/unruly player from the lobby. The player will be able to return.
  • Ban - Party leader can ban a turbulent/unruly player from the lobby. The player will not be able to return to that specific lobby.
  • Transfer Party Leadership - Party leaders can transfer the responsibility to another user
  • Within Lobby Invites - Steam Friends List integration and link sharing using the "Copy Link" button as per usual.
  • Mute - Left-click the Volume Icon to mute a player
  • Volume Slider - Rightclick the Volume Icon and use the slider to adjust volume

Uses

  • Naming - Please try to be descriptive with your lobby names - example "Cool Game - Classic 2 Aliens" or "Custom 4 aliens 2x Speed"
  • Naming - Act like adults and refrain from using slurs. Report players and party-leaders with inappropriate names using the in-game "Report" button.

Other

  • [ADDED] Discord Rich Presence

Reported Bugs

  • [FIXED] FPS drops significantly during custom matches with less than 8 players.

EA Update 1.6.0

The last update for 2020 is here! What a year it’s been ~ we hope everyone has managed to stay healthy and safe. It’s been a blessing to get to know all of our community members even better in 2020. It's been a flagship year for Enemy On Board. 6-months since we launched into Early Access and we've had close to 300,000 people download a copy of our first game. It's come a long way, and we’re now looking forward to the new year. As many of you are aware, our team has also grown from 5 to 7 people and we're planning on hiring an Art Director soon. We're blessed to be able to make games for you and can't wait to see what 2021 will bring.

With Update 1.6.0, we're moving away from our matchmaker and replaced it with a custom lobby system. As our concurrent player count and download figures are low, we've moved away from the matchmaker and to a lobby system. These lobbies are fully customizable (change the # of aliens, speed, and a whole host of other options). We can't wait to see the memes that spring out of this. If our player base grows and there is a need for a matchmaker again, we will be able to add it back quickly.

Here is a summary of the items included in this update:

  • Matchmaking has been removed, moving to solely Custom lobbies
  • Balance tweaks you've been asking for
  • TSU and Anime Soul partner skins added - Join their linked Discord's for release event details soon
  • Added Credits Screen to the main menu homepage
  • Kickstarter flair applied to those we have proper Steam IDs from
  • Discord Rich Presence updated for recognizing Enemy On Board
  • Credit Boost - 30% increase

Given the required database changes, Enemy On Board will be down today (12/16) for a good portion of the day.

DEDUCTION DONE DEADLY - EA UPDATE 1.5.0

We've been hard at work over here at Windwalk. As many of you know, since the last update, we've added 2 new engineers to the team, Kristian and Josh. They are now fully on board and working hard. We're so grateful to have them as we push EOB to the next level at full speed.

Early Access v1.5.0 represents our largest update to date. In this update, we've made large changes to up the focus on deductive gameplay elements and reduce the amount of combat in game. With 8 players, 6 Crew and 2 Aliens, being discovered early marks almost certain death. We also needed a bigger ship to house more players, so we decided to fully revamp the Andromeda. Patch v1.3.2

As we come close to wrapping up this week, we are happy to get this hotfix update out to you guys!

This update should fix the following problems:

  • Fixed bug allowing selection of other character's abilities (ie. Xenna's shield ability on Monkus)
Seems like we didn't get all of it ːsteamsadː time to crawl back into our caves and back to work.

  • Fixed multiple performance issues due to corrupted user data files

As always, thank you to everyone for helping us to gather logs around these issues and being patient with us while we figure out where mistakes were made.

Please continue to notify us of other bugs you are experiencing in the game. You can do this by sending a message (along with your logs) in our Discord, or by using the "Report Bugs" button in game.

Have a great weekend, y'all!

Patch v1.3.1

With our latest big content update (v1.3.0) came a few bugs.

Here's what we have fixed:

FPS Drops and Map Falling

There was a bug in an "update" loop which meant it sent logs at the framerate specified per account (ie. 60 times a second if framerate was set at 60fps).

This slows down the computer and puts a ton of load on our remote logging service.

Cris has found a quick fix for this, and we'll be finding time to find the proper and perfect fix very soon!

Faulty Items

We fixed almost immediately after this was discovered because we're just the best devs, but this was a problem where dropped Shield Cells and Bulletproof Vests would recharge with full armor.

This was not intended, and has been fixed.

With this quick patch, Enemy On Board should be back to the game you know and love! See you onboard.

Patch Notes v1.3.0

You have asked.....many many times....so we have provided. Will you survive?

Additional Information

  • [Ability] Access Denied: Niko is able to lock the nearest blast door for a short duration.
  • [Perk 1] Bulletproof Vest: The Officer spawns with a special bulletproof vest. This item provides armor, even if it is not the currently equipped item.
  • [Perk 2] Utility Belt: Grants the Officer a third inventory slot at the cost of reducing maximum HP and movement speed.

Additional Information

  • [Ability] Ability Steal: Sarrel is able to steal and store the abilities of other characters in her Torrelian charm. After casting the ability, the charm will empty and she will need to steal a new ability.
  • [Perk 1] Channeler: Allows Sarrel to cast stolen spells an additional time.
  • [Perk 2] Alien Affinity: Allows the Grifter to steal abilities from transformed aliens.

  • Bulletproof Vest: A sturdy vest that blocks incoming attacks. The vest does not need to be equipped in the active item slot to work. Once the vest's durability has been used, it will break. The vest has increased durability based on which perk level is equipped.
  • Shield Cell: A Scavenge item that grants a small amount of armor. Alternative to the bandage that uses the same mechanic as Bulletproof Vest.

  • Epinephrine: Gain movement speed for duration after use of a character ability. This does not apply to alien abilities.
  • Status Shield: Reduces the duration of negative status effect on the player (Only applied if the status is owned by another player (EX doesn't change self-cast modifiers)).
  • Armory Specialist: An additional bandage / Light weapon / Heavy weapon spawns in the armory.
  • Shipshape: Grants bonus speed and damage if the player is at max health.
  • Advanced Alloys: Each point of armor blocks additional damage. (EX: 1 armor requires 1.2 damage to remove).

Feature Updates

What's New?

  • Added red highlights to display updated information across the out-of-game UI.

Balance Changes

  • Armor blocks damage before it is dealt to players. Items that provide armor are active even if they are not in the currently equipped slot.

Knife

  • Knife base damage reduced 14 => 12.5

Scientist Teleport

  • The teleporter now dies 5 seconds after a portal is opened, or when a second player travels through it. (This means that the beacon will explode as soon as a second player travels through it)

Mercenary

  • Now only triggers on player kills.

Ninja

  • Debuff linger duration decreased from .2 -> .15 seconds
  • Activation radius increased from 4 -> 4.25m

Lightweight

  • Debuff linger duration decreased from .2 -> .15 seconds

Bedside Manner

  • No longer applies to self-healing
  • No longer applies to over-healing

EscapePod

  • Once the escape pod closes all players will be killed and checked for until the round ends.
  • This means players cannot leave the escape pod once it closes with mobility items and avoid the killbox.

Trapper

  • Removed knockback reduction from Adrenaline rush
  • Added knockback reduction to Knuckle Dusters when Adrenaline rush is active.

Bug Fixes

Scientist Teleport

  • Split into two abilities
  • Sprites properly swap after each ability is triggered so the user can tell if they will drop a beacon, or teleport.
  • Fixed a bug where critical failure would not work on the teleporter beacon.

Wrench

  • Heavy wrench now properly increases wrench damage.

Abilities

  • The server now properly checks that your character selection owns the ability selection sent to the server,
  • This means overwriting user data, or sending an erroneous ability configuration will not allow you to choose a different ability.

Tutorials

  • Fixed an issue with the vision effect edge being visible during the 3 aliens introduction
  • The doors in the stun-gun room in the human section of the tutorial now open only after you have picked up the stun gun

Patch Notes v1.2.0

Soooo.....uhhhhh......yea, we added in European Servers yesterday night, no big deal or anything ~ smile

This one goes out to all the EU players who have SUFFERED through bad ping and rough gameplay. You are still loved and care for, don't worry.

We have added in EU servers to solve all your problems and whisk them all away ːsteamhappyː

How It Works

When readying up to enter a queue, you (in Solo Queue) or the "party leader" can choose to queue in EU servers, US servers, or both!

We have added indicators to let you know how popping a server is, and how long you'll have to wait for a game. Green means good :)

There's still a lot of work to be done to make it better, but we just couldn't let you guys suffer any longer. Here it is, for you, right now!

Bugfixes

Last but not least, we fixed one bug along with this patch.
