The Control Patch

User Interface:

  • The UI has been overhauled, we will be making adjustments and polish changes over the coming patches. Don't be shy! Let us know what you think.
  • Added first draft theme song in the main menu.
  • Added the new logo as the icon for the game Icon.

Performance:

  • Another massive perfomance patch! Framerates should be higher!
  • Players with low framerates should no longer teleport around!

Tutorials:

  • Added a proper tutorial for the leech alien.

Item Balance:

Security Camera:

  • Removed as a starting item.
  • Security Camera is now a ground item with 2 charges.
  • 2 Security cameras can be found around the ship to pick up at the start of each round.

Bandages:

  • Reduced healing from 25 -> 20 per charge.
  • Two of the three bandages have been moved to inside the armory.

Shiv:

  • Damage increased per charge 9 -> 10.

Hookshot:

  • Impact damage decresed 5 -> 3.
  • Drag distance increased 1.5 -> 2.5 damage per meter.

EMP:

  • Cast point slightly increased .35 -> .45 (it now comes out slightly slower).

Molotov Cocktail:

  • Damage per tick increased 4 -> 5.

Jump Drive:

  • Increased slow duration .75s -> 1s.
  • Decreased damage 10 -> 8.


Alien Balance:

  • Alien transformation time reduced 16 -> 15s.

Leech:

  • Ability cooldown increased 8 -> 11s.

Spider:

  • Spider eggs take longer to place .75s -> 1.5s.
  • Spider eggs stun for shorter 1s -> .75s.

Added observer mode:



  • Up to 4 observers may join the game in addition to the 6 crew members for a total of 10 players.
  • 6 players are still required to start a match but players may opt to be observers.
  • The following control features are allowed for observers:

    • Follow cam for living players
    • Free camera mode
    • Toggle player HUD
    • Toggle player Fog of War
    • Text and voice chat with other observers and dead players



Performance:


Dramatically improved gameplay performance.

Gameplay:



  • Laser Repeater:
    Increased attack time 0.5s -> 0.6s
    Slightly increased hit search radius 0.25m -> 0.3m
  • Stun Gun:
    Slightly increased hit search radius 0.25 -> 0.3m


VFX and SFX:



  • Spider alien: added new model
  • Spider alien egg: added new model
  • Jump Drive: added new model
  • EMP: added new model
  • Added new hit FX for most items
  • Added new sounds for most items
  • Added ambient sound in different parts of the ship
  • Added a sound for swapping backpack items
  • Added a sound to let the player know the currently selected item cannot be used

Characters:
  • Character rigging has been majorly improved. Most animations as well as the pick screen character renditions should look much better.

  • Added the Scientist.

  • Added 2 recolors for all characters.

  • Locked all recolors besides medic recolors.


General:
  • Added player input buffering. Buffered commands are valid for 0.5s. (EX: Pressing swap then attack during an attack will cause the player to immediately swap items and use their other item following the completion of the first).


Item Changes:
  • Force Baton: Wall collision duration reduced.Small forward lunge on attack removed.

  • Snare Trap: Fixed a bug preventing nearby players from seeing traps. Visibility radius set to 2.5m.

  • Laser Sword: Small forward lunge on attack removed.

  • Stim Serum: Reduced cast time 0.75s -> 0.4s.

  • Alien Attack: The alien can move and turn at full speed while attacking.The attack hitbox is now active only for a single frame so it can no longer be smeared.


Miscellaneous:
  • Added a new model for open alien eggs.

  • Improvements to player combat should make all item usage feel smoother.

Patch Notes - 7/4/19

JULY 4 PATCH NOTES



We are going to be putting the weekly patch notes here for our players, as well as in our Discord.

Alien tutorial: The new alien tutorial introduces players to both types of alien as well as the vaccine

Game Start Reworked: Players now spawn 'randomly' around the map. Starting loot now can be found randomly around the ship. Increased number of starting items from six to eight. The old starting room now has a second door that exits into the long hallway between B and C generators. The repair kit room (room in the center of the map) now always starts with 1 syringe, 1 bandage, and 1 stim cola.

Omnipotent end game stats:
  • Alien or Human

  • Starting Items

  • Character Skin

  • Damage Done

  • Healing Done

  • Player Kills

  • Generators Repaired


Item Changes
  • Health Kit: Duration is now 15s on the ground. Fixed a bug allowing 2 players to be healed at once.

  • Jump Drive: Jump range shortened. Max charges increased from 2 -> 4.Charges granted per generator 1 -> 2. Slow duration on humans increased 0.5s -> .75s. Slow duration aliens increased 0.5s -> 2.25s. Cast time slightly decreased 0.5s -> 0.3s.

  • Snare Trap: Damage decreased 15 -> 12.5 per trap.

  • Force Baton: Removed the uncharged active. Slightly reduced the duration of the wall collision debuff as some players were being stunned at the very tail end of the effect when they should not have been.

  • Stim Serum: Reduced self-damage 15 -> 10. Increased damage tickrate.

  • Alien Vaccine:Increased damage tickrate, total damage is unchanged.


VFX & Misc.: Added effects for the inventory and loadout screens when changing item or character selection. Added a new visual for the alien transformation egg.

Alien Attack: The Alien attack has been reworked to be less laggy!
Aliens can no longer turn while attacking. Aliens can control the distance they lunge. Removing the movement button will cause the alien to stop lunging forward


Added a USA Monkey skin for 4th of July that can be unlocked by playing 20 games over the next week


To track this everyone in game level will show as being reset. Rest assured we still have everyone's full XP stored on our end. The skin will unlock when your profile reaches level 5.

Enemy on Board is open for playtesting Thursdays and Saturdays between 5 and 7pm PST.
