Enforcer: Police Crime Action

Flashing Lights - Online Multiplayer Police, Fire and EMS

Hello Everyone,

As many of you may know, Enforcer has not received any updates for quite some time. Odin Game Studios, the development team that worked on Enforcer has since been closed permanently and the team has split up and began working on other titles. Unfortunately, this means that there will be no more updates to Enforcer as the developer has shut down.

Since Enforcer, as a publisher we have been working on games like Jalopy, Dad Quest, Shoppe Keep, Floatlands and Tracks: The Train Set Game. These are of course titles that probably don’t interest many of you here, but since publishing Enforcer we’ve learnt a lot and have evolved to try and do the best we can.

We have been working on a new game for several months with a new developer that has no relationship with Odin Game Studios. which combines Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services with online multiplayer.

This project is being developed by a new developer and can be played co-operatively online with up to six players on a 7km x 7km map (Though the number of players that can play together may increase over time).

Details of the development will be much more transparent and we will not be talking about any content in detail until it is working as a functioning prototype. This is how we’ve been handling all updates for all our titles. The biggest mistake we learnt from Enforcer was communicating an update from the developer before seeing it for ourselves. This is what led to the current mess with Enforcer and we have been doing everything we can across all other games to avoid mentioning what is coming until we see it working ourselves.

We have launched a Kickstarter campaign for Flashing Lights which will include access to the games Alpha towards the end of this year. All Pledges (except the £1 pledge) contains alpha access because we need feedback. I have a large list of suggestions, features and dislikes collected from the Enforcer forum and we’re working through those. But being able to share builds and receive feedback will be invaluable to the game.

If you want to check out the game in more detail, do check out the games Kickstarter Page.

Enforcer - Reverting To Old Build + Preview forum + Public QA sheet

Hi everyone,

we are aware of some issues that were introduced in the last build. We are awaiting a new fix to these issues over the next day or two. However I’ve decided to roll back the default build before the latest update.

What I have done is create a new branch which players can access to see the current work on the update. To access this, you will need to go into your steam library, click properties, click beta and then enter the following code

enforcerpreview

Alongside this I have made a public Google QA report which will update with issues from the community. Currently the issues are predominately to do with the driving mechanics that were introduced. Though I will populate it with more details in the following weeks.

You can view the list here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1G4UmULqprCmbSBzO3FjQ1veWh8EqlZJYsDsXmuFoaGQ/edit?usp=sharing

Currently Odin are uploading a build with the issues in green addressed. When this has been done, I will update the preview branch on Steam and will await any feedback from the community. I have created a special preview branch on the forums where I will visit this and update the google QA report so Odin have information on how to replicate issues etc. If you want to report an issue, the more info you have to share, the better it will be for us to fix this.

Odin are preparing another update this week, it will go straight into the preview build. When it is ready to go live I will make it public.

All the best,
Chris

Vehicle Handling

Hi Everyone,

We have a new update which features some changes to the vehicle handling. This is just a small part of the update that Odin are working on. More news will come soon detailing the rest of the update and when that will be available.

An Update Of Progress

Hello everyone,

The developers of Enforcer have created a new post in the forums to discuss the development process and some thoughts. They shared a small tease of screenshot for the next update and have told me that they will aim to be more communicative in the development process for the next update.

A screenshot can be found here:

I will be talking with Odin regularly so that they can give regular updates on the process. But the goal now is to provide the community with greater and more regular information.

I am afraid that I have not been given an ETA just yet, but we are working towards this and will have more news soon

A forum post on the update from the developers can be found here:

INCOMING UPDATE

We are still working on the update, for more info about the delay please access the link bellow:

UPDATE: 24th June: Hi everyone. We will have to delay the release of this update to July. This is quite a big undertaking and the developer needs just a little more time to get everything in place. I'm hoping that we can release mid July and I will keep you informed with the details.

I will also be considering a beta development branch so those who are interested in seeing it (Although not in a polished state) may be able to check it out earlier before we roll it out to everyone.

All the best,
Chris

ORIGINAL POST:

Hello everyone.

We have some exciting news for the next update for Enforcer. The update is planned to launch by the end of June and will include quite a selection of new features and refinements.

New Game Mode: Sandbox

The Sandbox mode will behave differently than career mode. You will always be on duty and some of the stamina/hunger systems will change slightly. You will receive money over time as a salary. Along with this, we will have a few new additions in this mode:

  • A new map exclusive to sandbox mode
  • More missions exclusive to sandbox mode
  • Different buildings

Along with this new mode/map we will also include:

  • Improved vehicle handling
  • Increased difficulty of Hardcore mode

We do have a selection of possible refinements, but this is of course due to time. I will mention these only so to keep everyone in the loop. However I can't confirm we can do all or any of these by next month

  • Improved AI behaviour
  • Improved Spawn System for NPC's and Vehicles
  • Improved Pathfinding
  • New save data system

Additionally the new path finding point above leads us to a another heavily requested feature. But of course, we need just a bit more time to experiment... that is:

  • AI Partner

We have more in store for Enforcer. But I hope you all will enjoy this update when it launches next month.

All the best,
Chris

Community Translations

Hi everyone,

We do get a lot of offers from the community to help translate this and many others into their language. With this we wanted to launch a community translation pack that will allow you to send us your translations for your language which we can then implement into the game.

If you're interested in translating Enforcer into your own language, you can download the localisation files and find out more info by visiting this link:

http://www.excalibur-publishing.com/pages/community-translations

We of course appreciate all the help we receive and may be able to offer some rewards for some of our translaters that could include being put onto the credits of Enforcer.

All the best,
Chris

TRADING CARDS NOW AVAILABLE

Hey Enforcers,

Trading cards are now available. I hope you enjoy.

UPDATE 1.0.4.2 NOW LIVE

Today we are launching a new update for Enforcer which includes a selection of fixes and a new police vehicle. We have made the vehicle active straight away, meaning that you don’t have to enter a code in order to unlock it.

Additions
- New Police Vehicle

Fixes
- Key Binding – Fixed an issue where players would not be able to open doors if they changed the key binding
- Truck – Fixed an issue where an arrested civilian would not sit correctly inside the vehicle.

We still have more planned for Enforcer. We are very busy and I hope to share more news very soon

Update 1.0.4.1 Now Live

A new update for Enforcer is now live. We have added the following:

- Vehicles will pull over when using only the siren lights – Players wanted to switch on their lights to pull over drivers, so we are adding this
- The Light bar colours will be fixed
- Eating will correctly restore hunger
- When on duty, you no longer can do house activities
- Many other minor fixes

We were hoping to release more mission variations for each map as part of this update, however we need just a little while longer to test this and add upon this. We have however brought forward a new police vehicle. So please enter the following code in the options menu to unlock this new vehicle:

Mytruck

We hope that you are enjoying the game and we have more updates soon.

All the best
