Entropy

Entropy Release Notes - 28 Jan 2014

A new update has been released for Entropy.

Please see the Entropy Release Notes - 28 Jan 2014 thread on the Forums for full details of the changes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This Update introduces some changes to controls and binding options. In order to prevent any conflicts with previous options, all your existing Options choices will have been reset.

In the event that you seem to lose keyboard controls, please go to Options > Bindings, click Defaults and the Apply. (If you are in a Sector and don't have a mouse cursor, use [ALT]+[TAB] to minimise and then maximise the game, and this should give you a cursor so you can load the default bindings.)

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Entropy Release Notes - 6 Jan 2014

EXPLORATION

  • The first version of the Exploration system has been implemented
  • The Exploration system randomly generates 'Uncharted' Sectors that can be discovered by exploring star systems
  • Unlike the permanent Sectors in each star system, these Uncharted Sectors do not show up on the minimap and cannot be seen until they are within sensor range of your ship (much like other ships)
  • Uncharted Sectors remain on the System Map until discovered and entered by a player or players. Once they have been entered by a player, Uncharted Sectors will remain until all players have left the Sector, at which point they will disappear (and may be replaced by a new Uncharted Sector in a different part of the star system)
  • In this initial version of the Exploration system, there are three types of uncharted Sector - asteroid fields (containing mineable asteroids), derelict fields (containing salvage) and combat encounters (containing NPC ships)
  • Additional types of Uncharted Sector will be added as development continues, and we'd welcome any and all feedback on the Exploration system - please let us know what you think via the Entropy Forums

BUG FIXES

  • The 'double loading' bug that could occur when clicking to 'Enter' a Sector (including Interception Sectors) should now be fixed
  • CODE power management settings for Command and Defence should now have their intended effect on Energy and Shield regen rates, respectively. (Note that 'starter' ships do not have functioning CODE controls)
  • CODE power management settings should now be persistent - when you enter a Sector, your ship's CODE settings should be the same as when you last left a Sector

Happy Holidays From ArtPlant & Early Adopters Gift!

Pilots!

Since Entropy dis-engaged its cloak nearly two weeks you have given us an excellent reception and we have thoroughly enjoyed reading your feedback. We are already adapting our future plans based on the things you've been telling us so keep it coming! To show our thanks for the great support you've offered us right from the start we would like to offer you all a special Early Adopter Gift! You can find the details below.

As you can imagine, everyone likes to spend a little bit of time with their families over the holiday period, and as such you may notice us posting a little less on the forums, and may have to wait a little longer for a response to any support issue between Christmas and the New Year.

The development team will be continuing with the regular, at least weekly updates over the holiday period, in addition to the major updates adding new features and content roughly each month. We’re glad to have you along for the ride!

Best Wishes for the Holidays and New Year from Everyone at ArtPlant.

Early Adopter Gift

Users who purchased Entropy before 19th December at 10:00am PST (18:00 GMT) will receive these items during the next update, expected to be Tuesday 24th December.

Item Descriptions

SpearTech R7 Railgun
The SpearTech R7 features a unique accelerator mechanism that's able to deliver the same impact energy from shorter bursts. This allows R7s to maintain fire for up to 25% longer before reloading than standard models, with only a slight reduction in long range effectiveness. It also imparts a distinct reddish glow to the weapon's tracers.

Stakhovskiy Drive Coils
Individually crafted by the legendary starship engineer, these extremely rare heavy drive coils are renowned for imparting a distinct blue glow to the exhaust plume of any ship they are installed on. As Stakhovskiy only ever made a small number and no one has ever been able to replicate them, many rumours surround the secret of their manufacture.

Founder’s Coins
An ancient relic from the earliest days of the Interstellar Confederation, thousands of years before the Shutdown. Highly valued for their historical significance and incredible rarity.

The Founder's Coins are said to have been minted to celebrate and memorialise the very founding of the Interstellar Confederation. Even before the Shutdown no one knew for sure exactly how many still existed, and in the chaos following it nearly all records were lost. Many believe that only a few hundred remain.

MARKET

  • Found and fixed an exploitable bug in the Market

In order to minimise the long term effect of this issue on the game's economy, we have reduced the Credit balance of a small number of characters who appeared to have knowingly or unknowingly benefited from it.

We'd like to thank the players that brought this problem to our attention.
