Rewrite Update On Hold
Hello, first off I'd like to apologise for putting this update on hold. I've been looking at development completely wrong, focusing on small gimmicks instead of the actual game.
Lack of motivation
Project Scale
Upgrading player base
Lack of time
I am currently working full time and can only really work around 1-2 hours a day on this project
Here's the plan going forward:
The plan is to go back to working with Ergo Legacy, the plan is to do the following.
Improve the game piece by piece
Block out and prototyping levels
Improving the gameplay and challenge
Because of the lower fidelity of Ergo Legacy it will allow development time to speed up.
The Ergo Rewrite update is still planned, it just won't be happening anytime soon.
Remember, purchase a game based on what it is, not what it could eventually be.
Thank you

Ergo Hotfix 11/06/2023
Ergo Legacy - Fixed a bug where the game had a small chance of soft locking during Act 2
Upcoming Beta builds
April Fools! Just kidding, this ones legit, I just thought it'd be funny to announce something on April 1st. So first things first, the plan.
Firstly, I want to talk about how you will be able to play these beta builds
When they're ready, I'll be modifying how Ergo launches, the current build will be reverted back to a build with no unfinished features, this will be done just to make the game look prettier for the time being. When you try to launch the game you will be greeted with launch options (As is the case for SteamVR and OculusVR) You will be able to play the Original Ergo and also play the Redesigned Ergo (they will both be installed when the upcoming build is ready)
Please keep in mind, Redesigned Ergo is early in development, reporting bugs and glitches will greatly help development
Secondly here's some screenshots the games' coming along nicely
Thirdly, the game's story. It will still follow the same path as Original Ergo's but it will have some changes to make the game more exciting, fun to play and worth revisiting. It's coming along very nicely just like the game itself.
Finally the store page, this will not be updated until there's enough content for Redesigned Ergo to stand on its own but I will provide you with the description and what it looks like so far, please note gif scales are different because of compression, I wouldn't be able to post these without it.
Long Version -
Welcome to Ergo HQ, After being mistaken for someone else, you play as Joseph Phillips a new intern whose sent into Virtual Reality to "beta test" equipment within the "Ergoverse", an abandoned metaverse application, reconstructed by a single man and his AI workers.
Will you be worthy of joining Ergo HQ full time?
Features
Made with VRGK
Ergo uses the VRGK which allows us to work on more complex experiments within VR, this allows for some of the best VR Gameplay and allows for the most interesting mechanics
Fullbody Character
Alongside this we have a Fullbody character, move your hands and your arms will follow, crouch down and your legs will do so, walk, run, it all feels natural
Interactive World
Items within the world aren't bolted down, you can pick up and do whatever you want with them
Short Version -
After being mistaken for someone else, you enter a abandoned metaverse, controlled by a single man and his AI workers to test out equipment within.
Finally, my send off (for now)
I hope my giant wall of text can satisfy you all for the time being, it's been a blast to work on Ergo and when the Redesigned build is ready, it will be the game of all time See you soon!

An Update
Its been a while hasn't it?
I've been focused on reworking the story and level design, lets be honest. It could definitely be better
Ergo was mainly developed as a simple puzzle game made similar to most VR games releasing at the time. While I felt proud of the game at the time, as per every developer, they eventually stop enjoying what they had made.
I'm not giving up here, while I am proud of what Ergo was, being an impressive (but simple) VR Game, I'd like to step out of my comfort zone.
So here's the plan
The game will be getting its VRGK 3.0 Patch, sometime in 2023, It'll be a separate Beta Branch (With new levels being added whenever ready) , until it's finished, it'll stay that way.
From what's been done so far, It needs the following:
Story Rework Complete Puzzle Overhaul Better Voice Acting More Characters Less Depressing More Fun Mechanics Visual Overhaul
I apologise for the lack of communication. Hopefully some VERY EARLY screenshots of the rework will make up for it, including a look at the new menu and logos :)
Until next time

Small Dev Update
Hello, apologies for the lack of updates but I've been very busy with work and haven't had time to work on Ergo, I've made a list of stuff I plan to get out for the next update
Ergo will be getting ported to VRGK 3.0, Ergo currently runs on VRGK 2.0, i've seen the improvements with 3.0 and I know it's a must for Ergo, better performance and cool systems and mechanics which'll make the playing experience more unique.
this will take some time as I am VERY busy with work and 3.0 hasn't released yet.
Some parts of the game... nicest thing to say, they suck, so i'll be attempting to ramp up the challenge or replacing them altogether
I have many plans for this game, expect more in 2023!
I'm also happy to take suggestions

Fixed object displacements
Moved spawn placements of destructible parts (to decrease chance of physics explosion related crashing)
I'm reworking the item spawning system to help keep the game running smooth, this system only applies to "Test one" and "Test three" as of writing but I will try to get it on all levels by the next Beta Update
How to access:
When's the next update?
It's been several weeks without an update, when is it coming? - I'm working on it, trying to make each level feel different visually and (if possible) gameplay wise, Once I have something worth releasing it'll be within the Beta steam branch.
This can be accessed by right clicking Ergo/Properties/Betas and selecting Beta
