Build-A-Room #3: Masterpiece Challenge!

Are you ready for Da Vinci's NEXT challenge? 🎨

Calling all room builders! As you are probably aware, we just released a new free room called Leonardo's Workshop last week! In this workshop, the world famous grandmaster Leonardo da Vinci created many of his masterpieces, such as the iconic painting Mona Lisa. Now we want to challenge all of you to create your very own work of art in a brand-new Build-A-Room contest: The Masterpiece Challenge!

For the Masterpiece Challenge, we want you to build...well, a masterpiece in the Room Editor! This means we would like you to channel all of your creativity to make something that belongs in a museum. Whether you want to go all out and create a full-on gallery or just a single art installation, it's up to you! If you want to, you could even recreate your favorite work of art in the form of an escape room! As long as it qualifies as a masterpiece, anything goes! Think you're up to the challenge, but don't own Escape Simulator yet? You're in luck, because the game is currently 25% off during the Steam Spring Sale!

As always, we are also including an additional outfit and a soundtrack, so you can get fully immersed in this new setting. Finally, the update also includes a full translation of Escape Simulator into Italian!

We hope you are all looking forward to this update! Looking for some more rooms to play in the meantime? The room builders from our community got you covered! So without further ado, here are our top community room picks for February!

Vikings await!

If you've been keeping up with our monthly picks, then you are probably already familiar with room builder Brengo! Brengo is known to make some incredibly beautiful and atmospheric rooms and Song of the Longhouse absolutely continues that trend! In order to make your way out of the titular longhouse, you will need to delve into Norse mythology and translate ancient runes. Another instant classic!

This house is haunted! πŸ‘»

Up for something truly spooky? Be warned, because The Evil House by Lycos is definitely not for the faint of heart! In this community room, you will need to make your way through an abandoned house with a dark and secret past. Chills guaranteed!

What a way to make a livin'!

If you're in the mood for something a bit more light-hearted, then we highly recommend you to check out the latest room by GetOffMyBeard. In Jobville: Working 9 to 5 you will need to solve some SERIOUS problems at your new job. Honestly, who's responsible for causing a flood at the office? It's going to be a long, long day...

A sinister story...

So far, there have been three entries in the 'Kidnapped' series by Green Hand, which tells a mysterious and sinister story. Seeing as it's been a while since the first part originally got published, Green Hand decided to remake it! Kidnapped - Part 1 Remake is a complete reimagining of the original room with new puzzles and even more sinister vibes! If you've been keeping up with this series, you'll definitely want to check this one out.

In the middle of the night

Something Is Wrong is another excellent room by Bartololomeo, who has been consistently putting out great content since the very beginning! In this room, you wake up at 2AM with an uneasy feeling. You're not exactly sure what it is, but something isn't right. In fact, something is very wrong! This community room includes flashing lights, violence and jump scares, so be warned!

See you next week!

That's it for February's monthly picks! We hope these incredible rooms are enough to keep you entertained until Leonardo's Workshop launches next week, but of course there are always more great community rooms for you to check out. In the meantime, you can always join us on our official Discord or subreddit to talk about all things related to Escape Simulator. We hope to see you there!

I spy with my little eye... πŸ‘€

If you've been keeping up with our monthly picks, you might already be familiar with You Only Spy Twice by Elkondo. This room is designed to be played by two people, as each player will start a different location and you will need to work together to solve the room. Communication is key here, so let's hope you'll be able to work together! Good luck, spies!

Dating in space! πŸš€

You know what's even better than solving a mystery? Solving a mystery together...in space! If that sounds like something you'd be interested in, then Nova 501 Mystery by Mx.Extra is the room for you! In this room you will need to find out what happened on board of the Nova 501 Research Station after communication was lost. Are you up to the task?

Light years apart 🌌

Finally we've got 2 player Stargate SG-2 by BARDOSY[HUN]. This is another great room in which both players will start at a different location. However, in this case they are actually positioned light years away from each other! One player is located on Earth, while the other is on a faraway planet. Will the two of you be able to get everyone back to Earth safely?

Ready for your date?

We hope these two player co-op room suggestions got you excited for our Discord Date Night! If so, be sure to join our official Discord server today and sign up via the announcements channel! We hope to see you there and we wish you all a happy Valentine's Day in advance!

Our top community room picks for January!

Time for the first monthly picks of 2023!

Are you ready to play some awesome community rooms? Well, you're in for a treat then! January has been another great month in which the room builders from our community have once again greatly contributed to our Steam Workshop! So without further ado, here are top community room picks for January!

They're creepy and they're kooky... πŸ‘»

It's about to get mysterious and spooky, because the latest room made by GetOffMyBeard is based on The Addams Family. As it turns out, Uncle Fester trapped Thing in a cage to teach it a lesson and now it's up to you to set Thing free again. However, you'll need to find four keys to unlock the cage! Will you be up to the task at 'hand'?

Something's hiding in the forest! 🌲

If you're up for a stroll through a mysterious forest, then Behind The Trees by [Juice Box] is the right room for you! At first, this forest might seem like a magical place, but could it be hiding a dark secret? Things might just get a little eerie, so be warned before entering these woods!

No talking in the library! 🀫

Wollo is known to create some incredibly challenging rooms filled to the brim with all sorts of tricky puzzles. This was the case with The Seven Ages of Man and it definitely applies to The Library as well! Chances are high that you're going to need some hints to get through this one! As long as you're reading these hints quietly, you're in a library after all...

Fuzzy, but deadly! 🐱

They may look all cute and fluffy, but you don't want to mess with The Four Killer Cats! In this room by Ariel, you will need to find four deadly, vicious and armed killer cats in apartment #28. If you're in the mood for a community room filled humor and some silly jumpscares, then be sure to check this one out!

The return of a veteran room builder! πŸ› οΈ

If you've been playing a lot of community rooms, there's a pretty big chance that you've checked out one of Cico's creations in the past. If you're a fan of his spooky rooms such as Little Emily: Chapter 1&2 and The Motel, then we've got good news for you! Last month, Cico finally returned with a brand new room called Ghostly Report. It's a huge room so you'll probably be trying to escape this room for a long time, if you're up to the task, be sure to check it out!
