The team has put together another patch with fixes for bugs found by QA and the community, as well as a few small tweaks to improve the overall experience. We also took this opportunity to clean up a few small bugs found in the Titans DLC.

As mentioned in previous posts, thank you to the community members who took the time to report issues and follow up with more information. The details shared make it much easier for the team to find and fix bugs we’ve missed.

EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients Now Available | Update 1.4.47918 Patch Notes

Greetings, Pilots!

EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients is now live on PC and consoles! It’s time to take flight through an all-new adventure set after the events of EVERSPACE 2, that leads pilots deep into star systems controlled by the Okkar. As Adam and his band of misfits seek the origins of mysterious Ancient ships attacking Human colonies, truths of the Okkar race come to light. Apart from that, you may also reunite with an old friend, leading into the Aethon System.

As part of the new storyline, players adventure through four new explorable star systems, each packed with multiple locations filled with new enemies, secrets, and new types of puzzles. New side quests expand on characters and stories introduced in EVERSPACE 2, adding greater depth to the universe. All-in-all, this new expansion adds more than ten hours of new post-game and side quest storylines to the base game.

Wrath of the Ancients adds a new playable Okkar spaceship, the Wraith, which enables new playstyle options through powerful ability combos, increased damage opportunities, and an ultimate skill that transforms the ships’ appearance and special abilities. Pilots will be able to further power up their ships to take on the Ancient threat with legendary weapons, a new gear rarity tier, craftable components, and more. Find out more in our Deep Dive blog.

All EVERSPACE 2 owners should see a new base game update available to download. This update fixes many community reported issues and adds optimizations that should improve experiences for many players, especially those on Xbox Series S. Most notably, update 1.4.47918 brings some very cool quality-of-life features that fans have been asking for:

  • Expanded ship hangar—one more ship slot
  • Ship-to-ship gear transfer at Homebase
    - Equipment compare and swapping across player ships
    - Fast one-click cargo transfer (PC-only)
  • Gear reroll stat / trait locking
  • We’ve removed the gear level up cap—now pilots can upgrade favorite weapons and gear up to the player’s current level, but each upgrade has an increased cost
  • Added mark-as-favorite action for all non-stackable items to protect favorites from (mass-) dismantling and selling operations
  • Mark-all-items action and hotkey (Ctrl+A) / Gamepad: Action available on empty slots within Expand view
  • Dedicated sorting type for set-items
  • Direct ship selection with mouse (PC only)
  • World codex quick jump-to-category feature including dedicated category for ship classes
  • Added ship customization option to import styles from other ships
  • Ship customization action to manually toggle effects / night-mode in every submenu

These features come alongside dozens of changes and improvements. Skip to the bottom of this post for a full list of bug fixes, tweaks, and quality-of-life features introduced in this new update.

Sci-fi concept art fans, today is your lucky day! The Art of EVERSPACE 2 - Ancients & Titans is now available! This digital-only artbook contains 152 pages of concept art, sketches, character portraits, and developer stories created during the development of EVERSPACE 2: Titans and EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients. Fair warning, this digital book is FULL of spoilers for anyone who hasn’t yet completed both expansions.

Today, we are also releasing a new soundtrack DLC! The EVERSPACE 2 Official Soundtrack - Expansion Tracks collects twenty-five new tracks from Titans and Wrath of the Ancients into a new collaboration album combining the talents of longtime EVERSPACE series Composer and Sound Director Gero Goerlich and Senior Sound Designer Lukas Deuschel! This album celebrates the best music created for EVERSPACE 2 DLCs and former free content updates.

With the addition of these three new DLCs, we’re changing up our bundles on Steam. A new Complete Edition allows new space fans to get everything EVERSPACE 2 in one. The Galactic Edition contains the base game and all gameplay DLC. Base game owners who haven’t purchased any DLC can buy a bundle to get all gameplay DLC in one package. Finally, we’ve put together a collect the set bundle for our artbooks and soundtracks. These content packages are replacing older bundles and offer better deals to players looking to get as much EVERSPACE 2 content as they can in one go.

Wrath of the Ancients is the last piece of gameplay DLC coming to EVERSPACE 2. The team has been working on this project for nearly eight years now and we’re excited to get a start on our next adventure. You all will likely see another update or two with bug fixes, tweaks, and minor quality-of-life features—please keep reporting bugs in our Discord and the EVERSPACE 2 Steam community hub! We can’t say anything about what we’re dreaming up right now, but there are cool things coming on the distant horizon. Stay tuned!

Read on for a complete list of everything in today’s update.

EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients - Let’s Talk Pricing

Greetings, Pilots!

Let’s talk about everyone’s favorite subject, pricing!

With events happening in the world, it seems like everything is getting more expensive and there’s a lot of uncertainty in general. You feel it, we feel it, and all those marketing emails we’ve all been hammered with talking about prices going up certainly don’t help.

Let’s change that!

In our EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients release date reveal post, we shared our upcoming expansion was going to be priced at $29.99. Recently, the team got together to have a chat to reassess, and we’ve decided to lower the price of EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients to $24.99 / €24.99 / £19.99 / ¥2970 (other regional pricing will be in line with Steam guidelines).

With this in mind, we have also recently lowered the price of EVERSPACE 2: Titans from $14.99 USD to $11.99 USD, giving all those space pilots who haven’t yet played it more bang for fewer bucks.

Now before anyone gets the wrong idea, no content has been cut—we’re in the middle of our final polish and bug fixing phase ahead of release. The four star systems in Wrath of the Ancients are going to be packed full of new story, side quests, enemies, gear, music, and, of course, you’ll be getting your hands on the new playable Wraith ship.

As an independent studio, we are lucky to be in a position to be able to do this based on the support of an amazing community. If you were genuinely looking forward to giving us that little bit extra, thank you! We will have a new artbook and soundtrack gathering together content from our DLCs available when Wrath of the Ancients launches that you can put that money towards instead.

If that fiver means more ramen in your pantry, we get and respect that. Do your part by spreading the word about EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients and give us a positive review if you like what you’ve played. It helps!

We can’t wait to share EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients with you all on May 12.

Lee and your ROCKFISH Games team

New Ship - Wraith Deep Dive

Greetings, Pilots!

Our upcoming expansion, EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients, is bringing all kinds of awesome space adventure to the table, but the number one thing we know many of you want is the chance to fly a new spacecraft! Buckle up, because today’s blog and video featuring our Community Manager, Garry, will be showing off a cool new ship coming later this year. Get ready for the Wraith!

While progressing through the Wrath of the Ancients main storyline, Adam will be able to acquire the Wraith, an Okkar armed blockade runner, modified for a human pilot which utilizes cutting-edge technology pushing beyond Okkar standards from [REDACTED BECAUSE OF SPOILERS]. Don’t expect to find it at your local ship dealer, the Wraith is a one-of-a-kind spacecraft that will be found in one location in the expansion.

First off, let’s talk about the look of the ship. The Wraith is an Okkar-made fighter, and it looks like it—our design team wanted to bring players something new that also ties into the Okkar culture which is at the heart of the new DLC. Coloring can be changed based on the various highlights collected for other ships. The cybernetic glow option found in our Supporter Pack will also work with this ship. As this is a unique spacecraft, it’s not possible to find modules to modify the shape of its appearance. Also, the ship's passives are predetermined and not subject to RNG like the other ships.

We think players are going to love what the Wraith brings to the fight. This ship is a medium/heavy fighter that behaves unlike many of the other spacecraft available in EVERSPACE 2. This is a high-risk, high reward fighter for players who like blending a wide range of abilities with up close and personal combat.

The Wraith’s ULT and abilities are designed to introduce a unique playstyle for EVERSPACE 2 pilots. "Spectral Form" transforms the Wraith into a semi-corporeal state which causes hull to decay at an increasing rate which acts as a timer. The less hull you have, the more damage the Wraith will unleash. When your hull reaches zero, Spectral Form ends and your ship is restored to full hull. In addition to a significant damage boost, being in Spectral Form replaces devices with new special abilities.

Special "Quantum Covenant": Killing enemies leaves Echo Fragments floating in place. Collecting a fragment grants a stack of “Ethereal Resonance”, each dealing damage per second to all nearby enemies while increasing your speed. Damage is doubled for your locked target.

Siphon Pulse - Consume all “Ethereal Resonance” stacks and instantly deal the remaining damage to all affected enemies, repairing your hull for a percentage of the damage dealt.

Spectral Shift - Teleport forward, passing through smaller enemies, and damage all targets in a 100m radius around the path. Collects all Echo Fragments along the way.

Vanish - Turn invisible and suspend the hull decay for a short time. Duration increases when collecting Echo Fragments.

Resurgence - Collect all available Echo Fragments and revive them to fight for you.

Finally, we know some space pilots like to collect favorite versions of each ship class—when Wrath of the Ancients launches, we’ll be releasing an update to the base game which will include many features and fixes, including an additional hanger slot.

See you among the stars!

EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients Star Systems and Locations

Greetings, Pilots!

Beyond the borders of Colonial space lay mysterious dangers, alien wormholes, extreme radiation, battlefield debris, ancient ruins, and other exciting challenges for space pilots willing to venture deep into uncharted territory.

Let’s take a look at some of the new locations you’ll be exploring in EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients.

Is that new music? Why yes, it is!

Let’s go a little deeper.

Aethon

For years, EVERSPACE pilots have been asking when they’ll be able to explore this star system in full. The answer is soon™.

Aethon is a dangerous system filled with radiation fields and warship hulks drifting in the dark. Scrappers seeking a payday off this wreckage put their lives on the line against Outlaw bandits and hazards left from the Colonial War.

Humankind no longer maintains any organized presence here. The system's aging, unstable red star casts a hellish light over the wreckage of research stations and old Freelancer bases—even before the war, previous attempts to establish settlements were difficult due to the dangerous environment. Years under hostile conditions have clawed away at structures, but they may still hold some secrets.
The events that point Adam towards this system involve an old friend. You’ll have to wait to find out more.

Khaït Dominion

The closest Okkar rim system to the Colonial border is also one of the most sacred to the Okkar. Years ago, when Humankind expansion encroached into this system, the Okkar retaliated in force.

Planets, once desert-haven cradles to the Okkar civilization, are now loosely populated by few, dotted with ancient structures and mysterious ruins. Historical records say this system was a home to the Ancients as they nurtured the Okkar into a starfaring species, but their monuments are now dormant tombstones.

Strange as it sounds, a natural wormhole bridges this system with the Khaït Nebula. Due to this anomaly, possibly connected to the Ancients, the fabric between dimensions is especially thin here, leading to the growth of Viridium in large fields.

Rhak Homeworlds

This system is the beating heart of this sector of modern Okkar civilization. Much of their population lives on gigantic orbital stations and sprawling mega-structures covering the planets below them. The advanced technology of the Okkar can clearly be seen in these structures and the gigantic wormhole generator arrays that lead to Ushak Sanctuary and the Khaït Dominion.

Though it has been more than a decade since the end of the war, some structures still bear the scars of Human attacks—wreck fields with the remains of Okkar and Colonial warships have yet to be cleared due to their massive scale. The hardline anti-Human faction, Okkar Prime, point to these remnants of conflict as they push to reclaim territory they feel had been wrongly ceded to the colonists.

This system is also home to two stars: one white, the other yellow. Billions of years ago, the second ejected its corona as plasma when it became a white dwarf, leaving ghostly plasma fields that exist to this day. Human astronomers are unsure how planets in the system survived this event, though the influence of the Ancients may be the cause. Even now, the system remains rich in the resources that corporations such as G&B covet.

????????????????????

Be prepared when venturing into the "Forbidden System". This most ancient of the Okkar worlds is a religious center holy to the Okkar, home to few—even Outlaws and Redeemers know to keep well away.

The welcome presence of a non-Okkar is unprecedented. How will you be visiting this system? Will you be welcome at all?

If you haven’t already, make sure to watch our most recent devstream as our Community Manager, Garry, tours through seven different locations that will be explorable in Wrath of the Ancients. When the expansion releases later this year, you’ll be able to play through these and more.

Stay tuned for more news, our next update on these channels will be a deep dive into our new ship, The Wraith.
